Hey man just here to say you don't need an English Patch to enjoy it if you can't read Japanese. I never put one on mine (I play on original hardware) and I finished most of the story.
Just a tip for Heat The Soul fans, If you're too broke to get all of them, just get the 6th and 7th game. The 6th covers almost every part of the story since Renji and Byakuya's arrival in the Human world up until Ichigo vs Ulquiorra base mode (and a bonus Toshiro vs Harribel and one character from each of the 1st 3 movies). The 7th continues from there until Ichigo's arrival in Fake Karakura Town
I can't remember exactly which volume but I remember one of Kubo's comments said that he played the first Heat The Soul and was impressed by it. Just a cool fact that the creator of the series actually played a game based on his own series and got to experience it with others who played the game.
Fun fact, soul carnival 2 had Ichigo turning into "Vasto Lorde" animated before the anime, that scene where Orihime is terrified after looking at Ichigo appeared on a PSP game first . Also in heat the soul 6 and 7 there are team ultimates, a lot actually. And also there is a Battle royale mode on heat the soul 7 with 4 players vs all, I'm surprised that the PSP could handle that (it had lower graphics on that mode but still) and also 2 giant but slow characters, ira yammi and ayon. Cool review, I really enjoy your videos and had the same experience as you with those games as a child, it brings some cool memories
Nice. With the anime's return and the new hell arc resurrecting the series as a whole, there definitely needs to be a major production Bleach game set in both the TYBW and the postwar world. Sure we've got the mobile title but that can only go so far. Time for something fresh.
Okay, hear me out: we get Bleach Heat the Soul 8, but instead of covering the Lost Agent arc, it takes every single character, location and story mode from Heat the Soul 1-7 and combines them into a single game, with brand new character models and an updated gameplay formulae for home consoles and PC. Lost Agent Arc DLC coming soon. Then, once the anime finishes adapating the TYBW arc, we get Heat the Soul 9, focused exclusively on that arc.
Damn, that is nostalgic, Heat the Soul 2 was my first PSP game and you're right, it's sad how many PSP games never got localized outside Japan, the Kenshin fighter was pretty solid as well. Really did have some great exclusives.
This was amazing to see, I have to try it out Bleach heat the soul. Same with Bleach soul Carnival 2, it's one of them sit back and relax type of game. Amazing video as always DBZimran.
I loved the Heat the Souls Series! still my favourite Bleach games to this day =D Also, as a side note: There is a big drop in texture Quality from HTS4 to 7, and in a BAD way! The textures in HTS4 look pretty sharp for a PSP Game, you can see every detail on the hilt and guarpiece of Ichigos Bankai sword, the sandals are well defines, the Shading on the Shiakusho etc. HOWEVER, in HTS7, everything looks WAY blurrier, the Cross on Ichigos Handguard on his Bankai Sword, the Sandals and lots of other detail look like they have had a blur filger put over them. Maybe a change they did in order to preserve Space for adding so many characters? Also look at Ichigos Substitute Shinigami Form in HTS1 and HTS7, you can see the blurrier textures even more with that, thanks to belt of his scabbard and the guard of his sword. Still, great Games, I think I am going to play them again soon =D BTW: You can buy a UMD of the game and play it even without a Custom Firmware PSP! The PSP had no region lock so you can play and game from any region on it =D
I got heat the soul 3 when I was about 10 years old and when bleach was at its height having just finished the soul society arc. I was blown away at how many characters there were and I was happy you could still navigate it in Japanese, for the psp it was an impressive game

Soul carnival 2 is the first game I've played when I was 5 and yet I still replay the series over and over such that I lost track. The way I see it , SC2 covers so much of the preliminary arcs such that they were lazy to keep on going ( as seen when they made the fake kakakura battles but then slapped on the SC1 ending). I do wish it was remodelled such that it stretched to the Monster Aizen fight.
3-7 Consist of missions for example like that mission In HTS4 the reason you couldn’t beat grimmjow is cause only Ichigo while in hollowfication can deliver damage just like he did in the anime

Ukitake would cough blood and lose HP every time he does a strong a attack, leaving him vulnerable for a short while, I think they introduced that in HTS4, he was fine in 3. HTS2 had the amazing op "Chance" by Uverworld, that was my first game.
my favorite part of heat the soul 7 were the tag team special attacks you could pull off, it really stayed true to the source material while also giving us some combo attacks from characters we never got to see fight alongside each other !
The PSP was THE best system for Japanese Import games and Anime games at the time I have a Kamen Rider game on PSP called Kamen Rider: Super Climax Heroes and it's been one of my favourite handheld games ever
It's a shame they've never thought to port Heat The Soul on PS2 or PS3 at the time. Such a great fighting game locked on a portable system, with multiplayer modes being a hassle to set up.

Sony plays a big role in Bleach. it owns aniplex which is a distributor for the Bleach Anime. All the music labels are from Sony. Most of the games are from Sony as you know. So it’s no surprise Tite Kubo was like I’m going to put a PSP in my series. lol
Aw man I have All of nostalgia play the hit the soul & soul carnival games on my PSP. I remember there's one stage in Hit the Soul 3 that I played where Ichigo fought Renji I have alot of trouble defeating him because I can't seem to defeat him even when his health drops to zero, then I realized I need to preform a button combinations that makes the characters Reiatsu Aura turn red, then I was able to beat Renji. Now that I think about it all just comes down of me understanding Japanese 😅.
I remember being in elementary and hella wanting to play these.. then when I was like a senior in high school and had my first job the first thing I bought was a psp and heat the soul 5.. hyped moment ever
I would only play through all seven to play through the story .The one that’s the most worthwhile to play through is number seven because it has the most characters and the most modes.
I started with Heat the Soul 5, Nelliel being OP due to her speed but was the first in the title if I recall that added tag team functions and certain teams of characters having unique specials thanks to that which when I played 5 I had Toshiro and Kusaka as my picks since I wanted the tag team Hyorinmaru attack
I had a lot of fun with the heat to sole franchise I bought all seven games I don’t have them any more because I don’t have a PSP anymore but I can download the games if I wanted to put them on my Vita
I still have my copies of Heat the Soul 3-7, and can't wait to play them again! just need a new charger... I still remember having these crazy fights with characters who would never normally fight face off against really powerful opponents, like using Nemu to take down the likes of Aizen, Stark and Ayon. I really miss those days.

I don't think you really need an english patch for that game, i managed to unlock everything quite easily so i suggest you to give it a try at least once
i thought bleach had at least one gameboy advance game. If so, its crazy that a psp game came out before a gba game. Im not enough of an expert at fighting games or the game itself to comment for certain on how solid the mechanics are but to me its pretty decent standard 3d fighter stuff like tekken. Which means the mechanics are more solid than 90% of anime games. But partially just due to being a no nonsense fighting game and being on a portable console the game doesn't hit you with that seratonin injection like others do and the graphics are pretty poor in the grand scheme of things. Also the controls don't feel great to use like they would be on a home console. Generally fighting games aren't a popular genre. One of the least popular in fact because they don't feel good and you can't do much without practice which is kind of a chore. So while the combat might be better than arena fighters like jump force and the naruto storm series in the sense that you can actually do proper combos and have to think about spacing and stuff rather than just press circle over and over to get combos i'd still probably rather play the storm games cause they look and feel nicer to play. And games nowadays need those gimmicks and bells and whistles and extra content. These games feel a bit plain. Only dragonball fighterz got away with being a proper fighter and even then it had tons of features to cater to the casual audience like autocombos so they didn't get bored of it being too hard and stop playing. Also you can emulate these games nowadays so they're super easy to play.

This would be a good collection on modern platforms with resolution bump and localise in English
