Isn't that Bernie's idea of making the cars sound better next year? Believe me, they didn't sound like "fast" machines in Montreal. The Ferrari race ahead of the GP had a more exciting sound.
Do you have the balls to take turns at 200kmph? Or a body to handle 5g while braking from 300 to 0 in less than 3secs? Or predict the turn, brake, change gears and exit the turn under 2 secs? It's just rewarding for the extremely talented. ;D
Akshay Patil he would if he trained from the beginning. you know, like from karting and to "little formula" championships like Formula Renault and so on. I agree about the talent to actually race in Formula One, but just to drive, if he was a racing driver, yes he would have the balls.
I will just add that it is the best job on planet TO YOU and others like you, since you are obv. into cars a lot. BUT a lot of ppl don't realise 1. what it takes to get to that level so you can be paid those nice millions and 2. the busy way of life plus stress this lifestyle is. Why Nico had enough for example. So yeah, it all looks great on the outside and everybody wants to be in their shoes, but once they are there...a lot of ppl will give up. A lot don't have the skill to get to F1 to begin with btw. (aware it's not for poor ppl in general lol talking about skill! )
Being a Formula 1 driver is a lot less stressful than a normal job. You get paid millions for your average day to be this video; that sort of exercising is what lots of people do on their days off.
I admire the fitness training of the motorsport athlete.. They were not strong looking, not like the NBa players or Football.. But to control the car with the Gs, Speeds, Heat and Pressure.. You got to be a top tier athlete.. Aside from the bravery to tackle the Corners..
I understand the training required, but does he really need to juggle while riding a unicycle? Can every f1 driver do this? If no, clearly Nico is better.
It helps with coordination and preemptive thinking. Moving your hands according to the trajectory of the juggling balls and keeping all 3 in mind is a skill very simmilar to envisioning how a car will go around a corner.
What a genuine revelation this video is. Developing practical skills for the demands of formula 1 racing in such a direct and specific way, seems so obvious when you see it, but is not what you’re thinking of when considering in the life of a Formula 1 Racecar driver. You can see why Nico has able to keep himself at the top of his game and become a World Champion!
The steering/neck strengthening machine was brilliant! Really, really cool. And it paid off this year with a podium in Monaco. All the best for next season, Nico.
Un grand champion! Il m'a l'air d'être une bonne personne. Je suis plus fan de lewis, mais j'aime vraiment la personnalité de Nico aussi. Encore bravo pour ton titre!
Definitely gave me a bit more insight. I knew that driving an F1 car was very, very hard and I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise to me that these professionals should make sure they're at the top of their game, even if it means catching tennis balls while doing squats and neck weights.
Nico, It was great to meet you and Lewis in KL last week. Congratulations on your win in Singapore. You and Lewis have made me a Formula 1 fan. All the best as you continue your season. Ed Stokes, the American you met at the Petronas dinner and on race day.
I'm a Hamilton fan, didn't know anything about Nico until the Shmee 150 Merc GTR video a few days ago. Now I'm a Nico fan too! Great training regimen, very inspirational. F1 drivers have mad skills.
it's a talent there are many people who aren't that good they have lots of knowledge of what it takes to drive fast properly through lots of expensive experience it's their career not hobby
yeah i play racing games on my phone, and any race that is longer than 5 laps becomes super boring and i even fall asleep sometimes. i dont think their job is easy, most especially when you are like 10seconds in front or a maclaren driver.
Thanks for the inside into your Training , it's very interesting . I wish you all the best for the 2014 Season . Better the Season can not start for you . Best Regards from Dortmund Dan
Bravo Nico pour ton titre tu la mériter pour moi tes le meilleur le N°1 champion du monde je fais la fête avec des amis merçi pour cette belle et bonne saison bravo champion 👑👑👑👑👑👑
+Shark24 Yeah, this will be a long season, thankfully! But at the end I don't think anyone else but Lewis can beat him. Seem like this year will be Mercedes's as well
Artur Berteli I think Ferrari will spend the season where they left off last year, close but not close enough. I'm curious though to see what kind of engine upgrade Renault brings to Canada, it could potentially put Red Bull and Mercedes at the same race pace at certain circuits.
Wow. Nico is incredible. I've always thought of him as one of the hardest working F1 drivers. I wish he could either sign to a team like Red Bull or Mclaren or make Mercedes a top of the line team
To call this interesting is an understatement . This blog os so interesting. Monoco is like a series of cliffs too . So riding is going to be hard work.
should add a foot pedal weight press where you measure percentage of pressure and hold it for extended times at a given fixed percentage or have to move it though a certain percentage range smoothly over a given time frame.
It's so hard to get lapped and finish plump last after putting so much hard work. But you were lucky enough to get a competitive car. But a moment of silence to all midfield and small team drivers
You mean they were manual gearboxes back then, now they are sequential, it means they have to go through them in sequence, e.g. with a flappy paddle of stick shifter.
I thought formula 1 drivers trained by putting their hands in front of them and making loud engine noises with their mouths.
same😂😂
yeah but they never show that to the public :D
Hahahaha omg so funny
Isn't that Bernie's idea of making the cars sound better next year?
Believe me, they didn't sound like "fast" machines in Montreal. The Ferrari race ahead of the GP had a more exciting sound.
On that basis I could be a Formula One driver
need to get back into running I guess...
Yaa
Why?
maybe you should 😀

Because it's Monaco GP weekend
That bike can buy my apartment that´s for sure, lol....

nicofleb exactly!
No, it can't.
I understand the training required, but does he really need to juggle while riding a unicycle? Can every f1 driver do this? If no, clearly Nico is better.
Mental training. And that's what gave him the championship
Mental training / concentration, balance, agility, etc. Seems like quite a good exercise to do to me.
Ricciardo is so good at juggling
It helps with coordination and preemptive thinking. Moving your hands according to the trajectory of the juggling balls and keeping all 3 in mind is a skill very simmilar to envisioning how a car will go around a corner.

Ryan Callahan, in spain gp, nico forgot to change the car to correct mode, that's why a crash happened between him and lewis.
The juggling part was amazing. I think the best training you had was mind training. You proved to be strong and managed to win the WDC. Very well done
This video was perfect for me! I drive go-cart, and I need train more so thank you very much!
How is it going now
And youtube at its best again, showing this video to me 10 years later. :P

Nico is a cool guy. Seems more stressed five years later.

Key Monaco training moment at 0.13 sec into the video....great parking Nico!
Thats so super cool, the training is crazy, the tennis ball reaction game is bonkers!
im a big hamilton fan but i like nico too. they are both great but lewis just happens to be my favorite. but this video is awesome
Nico was born to Race and Vlog
I love how his bike is hella aero but he is wearing a baggy windbreaker. XD
I want to live like Nico... No studying, no problems, driving a fucking Formula 1...
Time capsule...god youtube brings nostalgia
I think this shows the drivers' dedication to their careers and this is exactly what I think about when a driver is penalized or retiring from a race
Thanks a lot NICO, great.
The white Oakley glasses when cycling reduce his aerodynamic wind signature, they also allow his farts to travel further and do more damage.
nice video by Nico :))

When you think about driver training you never would think that they had to train their neck or put weights on a steering wheel, that is pretty cool
This explains why F1 is a sport. It requires physical movements too and skills
Gotta love the hate comments from Hamilton fanboys. Just leave the guy alone...
