I'm a violist, and I love this piece. I will be playing it in a few weeks at an All-State competition, and I'm so glad to see another violist playing it, and beautifully at that, making it easier for me to have something to listen to before I rehearse to give myself something to aspire to. Thank you.

YES ABSOLUTELY!! i hate the fact that they are making Viola jokes and then when someone pointed out that they went too far, they said it was a joke just calm down. but damn those jokes not jokes anymore they're underestimating and making other instruments sound bad.
This is the music video that got me into starting viola lessons 10 years ago. I am coming back to this video for the first time in forever and am going to play this for my university senior recital this fall to pay homage to 11 year old me. Thank you
Hi. Julie, I saw you a long time ago in Korea. You grown up as a beautiful lady. I can see your mom on your face. It's a wonderful rendition. I love your play especially lyrical melody. I hope you and your family have a happy Christmas.
Excellent interpretation, now inspired me to continue with more courage to play the viola, which unfortunately here where I live is an instrument very little appreciated, although in my case, I began to learn to a more adult age. But I will not rest until I have that level of interpretation. Greetings.
This is hands down the best I have ever heard Csardas! It should be played Viola only forever. Playing it Violin is Sacrilegious. But the Viola gives it such a dark and haunting sound it's almost evil. I LOVE IT
I always thought the first variation of czardas would fit the rich timbre of the viola's middle range more Honestly the viola is definitely one the instruments whose timbre can be surprisingly beauriful to those who don't have as much experience Just like tuba. One might see it as merely the foundation of harmonies but it still possess the potential (if with the right player) to display of the warmest and prettiest tone and vibrato.
Hi! versatile piece, great rendition! looked challenging & fun to play :) I'm realizing I love the viola & I couldn't find a more enjoyable performance of J.C. Bach's Concerto in C Minor on youtube than yours. Your phrasing is superb! I'm now a subscriber :D I have 15 yrs experience on the guitar (mostly blues). I love the Classical & Romantic eras-I enjoy listening & am learning arrangements 4 guitar. I write, am starting to arrange & have performed. The viola...u give it such a Beautiful voice
I love how you played this piece i am currently practicing it but I love how you played it if it weren't for you i wouldn't have found this piece, thank you so much!
Put a thing in your mind. If someone says "Viola is this or that". And you think it's beautiful. So Viola is beautiful. Don't take other people advices about instruments. Follow your feelings. I used to play violin, but I decided that I would like something more... there is no answer. I just have followed my own feelings.
I've listened to this composition on the violin. The difference in sound is phenomenal. Probably related to pitch. Someone with the knowledge could probably explain it. Regardless it's still beautiful an well performed.
To me, usually keys with more flats sound more interesting - or less "standart". But this is perhaps my personal taste. Even so, the viola is lower, its tone is more "lament-like", and also has more volume power. Some, or maybe all facts above, may have caught your attention. I always prefer the viola. The only thing is faster passages are not as clear as on the violin - a matter of responsiveness. But the tone is much better - to me.
It could be a response of the strings as well, the skinnier the string the faster it vibrates, the viola has thicker strings so you do have to press stronger on the strings and they vibrate at a slower frequency!
Use imslp. Search up Czardas, scroll down to sheet music, click on the arrangments and transcriptions tab, then keep scrolling until you find the viola and piano arrangement.
Hello! I am so sorry for the really late reply.. I started playing the violin from the age of 7 and then switched to the viola in 2011! (When I was 15!
Hi! Well done! Love this piece! I’m a violist too and would like to practice this piece, however I can’t find a piano accompaniment for viola on RUclips. Would you know where I can get one? Thanks!

Stopped watching them for that very reason. A small joke here and there is one thing. They take it way too far.
I agree with you and all the others who replied to this comment
I love this song sooooo much better on viola rather than violin. The sound is just so much more rich and the tone is amazing!! 👏👏👏👏
The D sounds so dark and haunting. I love it.

OFCOURSE...Viola power!!

Okay, I like the viola and the violin, it's not right to compare instruments and say one is better.
Dannetic True, but its exactly what most violinists do :/
Ofc it is
The phrasing is absolutely perfect. This is such an inspiration to me and to viola enthusiasts and violists everywhere!
