Build an Ellsworth jig

When building the jig there are three main points to focus on. #1 a 45% angle for jig post to where gouge sits #2 the three holes drilled in the block must all be aligned and centered at corresponding angles #3 the pocket inline with center of grinding wheel. as far as the length of jig post used this can vary somewhat, but by raising or lowering the pocket slightly a sweet spot can be achieved easily. the overall shape of the block does not matter except for allowing clearance from the grinding wheel. personally i could not grind the precise angles this jig allows me to get effortlessly on my gouges without it.
