Very helpful video Paw Paw! I will be referring to this video often as I set up my Lathe. My plan is to build a new table for my lathe with enough room to mount the grinder and pen press. It will have drawers to store the relevant stuff all in one place. Thanks!
@@PawPawsWorkShop Thanks for the encouragement! If you really want to see, I can email you a link to the video.. But I don't see any email listed for your channel.. Oh wait.. I found it in the description for this video... I knew I saw it before! 😊
If you haven't already, with a couple of drawers in your stand I know I could probably put in 60 lbs of lathe parts. Very informative video, thank you.
Paw Paw, all of the commercial sharpening jigs I've seen have the square tubbing that slides to adjust.. They all are at a 45°angle, rather than one side laying flat on the bench.. Any idea why that is? I'm planning on building my own using aluminum tubing and was curious why they're built that way. Thanks again for all your help!
I just received my gig and had it not been for your video Amazon would have gotten this back because like you pointed out, the directions were some of the poorest I have ever seen. Great Video!
good video ! Wish you would have touched on the fish board tool. It's a flat piece of steel with no markings on it at all. No instructions ! What a piece of junk !! The actual tool is excellent !!
So this is a cheap clone of the Wolverine Sharpening System system, with poor positioning of parts before welding, what looks like thinner material (was even damaged in shipping), and a cheap 'vari-grind' that is not even usable because the clamping bolt is too short as they made the holes too large (apparently this is a new feature according to their site) so that the tool sits away from the clamp? Oh, and useless instruction. Can you get your hands on the wolverine system and compare them for build quality, accuracy, etc? The important stuff. Would be interesting to see if the $ savings of using this clone is actually good value or not. From here, the savings don't look to be worth it.

Awesome, you’re very welcome. Can’t wait to see your complete setup

Great video. I installed the Wolverine jig about a month ago and way overthought it.
Awesome. It certainly makes sharpening the tools so much easier. Thanks for watching

Good idea. I have thought about doing it but have not done it yet. Thanks for watching

Glad I could help! Thank you very much.
Yu did no follow up with the use of the vari-grind attachment after making the spacer
Just put a longer bolt in for the flat indexer.
Lol, that’s too easy. Thanks for sharing

That tool just measures preset angles

Yes, this is an inexpensive alternative. It’s does work well as far as sharpening the tools and that’s the purpose
