I don't see anyone explaining the green thing on the forehead so: In the Malay culture, it's customary for the Mum to get massages to help heal the insides of the Mum after birth. Part of it is the green paste on the forehead. I'm not exactly sure what's in the paste, probably some herbal leaves and stuff of that sort. Based on what I can remember it's got something to do with protecting the head from wind or angin (in Malay the meaning is a bit more nuanced) that enters the body through the head. If you notice the lady in the video is also wearing kain batik to not restrict her movements to promote healing and wearing socks. The socks serve as a protective layer from again, wind entering the body through the feet. It's believed that wind entering the body through the head or feet can cause a great deal of medical problems. These practices stem from history and are pretty common amongst the Malay community. But the person who had an affair with the wife will remain in love with her for...drama reasons i assume. Also that channel 5 shows dont seem to be able to hold onto the main plot premise for over 100 episodes.

I like Tanglin & Kin.... I actually watch it on Toggle when on vacations in Europe & Japan..... it reminds me of my Singapore life and makes me appreciate my holiday more 👀
OMG as someone who's just started watching the show, and hasn't got this far, this is hilarious. Especially when his guesses are far off. But also amazed when he's spot-on. 😂
You deserve a Congressional Medal of Honor for sitting through this. The acting can be so wooden for some of the actors that they make Qi Yu Wu look like peak De Niro or Al Pacino.
Man,when the plot for this show was first announced,I though Singapore would make the (swapped at birth) plot device uniquely Singaporebut instead Kin is just some kind of cheap Keeping up with the Kardashians Parody. It tries to highlight mental illnesses but man cramming multiple mental illnesses incorrectly in a show doesn’t properly highlight them. Everything on the show is unrealistic lol. Kin could have been about the accidental swapping of babies from different races,it could have showed how difficult it was for the swapped individuals to adapt to their own culture but ultimately it could have been used to highlight how racially diverse Singapore is and that even though each race is different,all races are more similar than anyone thinks! Wasted potentional ... Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

KIN is a really good series, but a really really long one. took me awhile to get to ep 300+. if you have time, you should definitely watch it from the start :-)

Ros character arc is super messed up because she's extreme kind, she agreed to look after Khalid, son of God Tier Karen (Syirah), who was at first the mistress and now the wife of Ros Ex-husband (Zaryf, who is of course the Malay guy is in jail, for white collar crime level which is usually Chinese do one on TV, but still). And God Tier Karen didn't want her son during the 5 years time jumpstart until recent episodes, so all that time Ros did the caregiving for the son of the woman who stole her husband in a very "I'm gonna steal your daddy" messed up way, and of the super horny ex-husband who broke Ros heart (he also tried to get lucky with the maid during his marriage to God Tier Karen). The whole family keeps giving Ros shit especially her ex-Mother-in-law but she still help care for them (because she kenna dementia), instead of YEETing the heck out of that toxic family, it's insane! It's like the Godfather meme "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" I guess the writers needed the conflict else Ros character got nothing to do cuz she's only at the restaurant and the Malay family home and no budget to hire new actors do extended Ros career story arc.
KIN’s one of my favourite drama series! Try watching a couple more episodes before deciding if it’s something of enjoyment to you. The plot twists are really, really juicy and entertaining! 😉
