"Seriously ILL!!" Kevin O'Sullivan Urges People To Stay "Realistic" Over King Charles' Health

- Kevin O’Sullivan urges people to stay “realistic” about the seriousness of King Charles' cancer diagnosis.
The Palace confirmed the disease, which is not prostate cancer, was discovered while the King was being treated in hospital for an enlarged prostate. The Palace declined to confirm the type of cancer.
The Duke of Sussex has spoken with the King about his cancer diagnosis and will travel to the UK to see him in the coming days, a source close to Harry said.
The Prime Minister has wished the King a “full and speedy recovery” and said he will no doubt “be back to full strength in no time”.
Kevin says: “I don’t think we should kid ourselves remotely that the King is not very seriously ill.”

That reporter certainly gets on my nerves. Every cancer is serious when you’re the one who has it. Some are very treatable and the earlier the problem is caught and treated, the better the outcome. As anyone who has gone through or has loved ones who have gone through cancer treatment, you know how difficult it can be. The patient’s immune system is knocked down and it’s best to avoid crowds and remain home to deal with the chemo or radiation side effects. Why is the press making such a big deal over giving the King the time he needs for treatment and recuperation? Give the man a break.

Don't use Harry as a barometer of the seriousness of the King's illness. Harry does nothing that does not include a payout for him, the King's illness isn't Harry's great concern. I hope that H is kept far away from the King and from Catherine, neither of them need to have the constant drama and temper tantrums that follow Harry everywhere he goes. Prayers for Charles, Catherine and the RF that they heal and have a speedy recovery.

Being 75 years of age and diagnosed with cancer doesn't look good for a speedy recovery maybe if he was a lot younger but the older you get the harder the body has to heal./ Lucky he's the king as ordinary working hard people who been diagnose with cancer and been paying there taxes is on the waiting list before they even get a chance to get seen for treatment on the NHS and more or less has no chance for a fast speedy recovery it to little to late

The last comment was KC will step down for a couple of months. People work through treatments since they become a regular part of a schedule but initially they take time off for any surgery to remove it and the initial bought of chemo or radiation. That's what I'm getting from this. It will be interesting to see if he is back out before Kate.

I have the most Empathy for William with the recovery of his wife, his childrens routine so they don't worry and stress over their mummy and grandpa, his father (twice), his duties and now some of his fathers duties. He is undergoing treatment which will make him feel bad and exhausted. It makes total sense for him not to undertake visits all over the country and he will be working from home.
It seems that they have caught the cancer in its early stages. He will have had a number of scans and tests prior to his surgery which didn't show anything, which to me is a positive sign.

Cancer treatment, especially chemotherapy, compromises the immune system and therefore patients should not be exposed to many people. Cancer is always serious. Cancer treatment also damages the body. Prayers for healing 🙏🏻

Harry is coming over for himself, to raise his profile and to beg for money. The wife sent him. He was supposed to love his grandparents but didn’t visit either of them when they were dying, and he knew, he knew. As for Charles I think he’ll do fine for now he’ll get the best care. He should keep Hawwy away he’s the angel of death.

And remember is NOT good to say in which stage his cancer is. Why? Because of the speculations.
Sometimes, doctors give you one year, and then after five years, people can keep going. Sometimes the tumours are held or reduced. All depends, where it is and if it has touched organs etc.
So that's why, can't been described. Too many paths.

No.actually he had to make this announcement to explain his absence from public duties. This advice from drs is routine during certain cancer treatments which affect the immune system, as many will know. It does not mean he is too ill to do the work.
If H loves his Father that much, why did he say he was doing great now he was out of "that family" whilst he was in Jamaica? That was just days ago whilst his Father was in hospital!

Harry and meg at the root of all the pain and sickness surrounding the Royal family, does he deserve to be forgiven, God forgives everyone but it doesn't mean he has to be accepted near his dad ...I think harry will take advantage of his father circumstances to make it all about what he needs and of course has his dad made sure he is in his will....Harry doesn't care, we saw it with his grandmother, grandfather, father and brother and all the other people that has come forward and those who may still be silenced

Spare a thought today also for those with undiagnosed cancer as they wait for GP and specialist referral appointments, after which they may wait for treatment. God help them and God save the King!!

What a load of typical media doom and gloom. What happened to our British keep calm and carry on. It may well not be a “ grave” situation and they maybe treating him quickly so it doesn’t progress.
I think we need to stop talking about the next stage until it’s reauired. Lucky for the King, he’s been examined and treated. Many people have to wait for referrals and examinations etc and it can be too late,
The King and the RF need our support and to keep our calm and respect. If it was someone in our family, we would stay positive and support them. So please do the same. It’s very distasteful listening to this.
I agree with Tom Bower. This is too huge a PR event for Harry to avoid without looking like a complete jerk. This is the "year of reconciliation" opportunity they need, the open door back in. Make no misty-eyed mistake, every single move for Meghan is calculated, and we all know by now that she runs the show.

There is no mention of a “serious” cancer ! I feel we have to be careful of choosing our words very carefully otherwise, it could be construed as fear mongering. Total unnecessary comments and whipping up hysteria. Give the man a break please. We do not know what type of cancer that he has.

It was a one way feud and the way Harry treated the late Queen and PP, for starters, was an utter disgrace.

We were informed and kept up to date about Princess Catherine after her surgery and still people are probing and speculating about the reason of her operation, just leave the Princess alone, give her some peace to recover as anyone would want after surgery. The King has been diagnosed with cancer, thats all we need to know, we will know more when deemed necessary to know. The public are not stupid, stop going over the rift between Prince Harry and his family for viewing figures, we are quite aware of all that has happened over the last few years. There will no doubt be some very difficukt and emotional conversations going on in the RF at the moment, give them some media silence for a while to deal with it, show a bit of respect and compassion instead of doom and gloom and speculation.

I cannot believe anyone would ever push to be Monarach, it means loosing your parent so you can be crowned. The sorrow & loss these last few years has to have taken it's toll and now this. To recieve this diagnosis shakes one to their core. I truly wish the commentators would be more mindful & respectful. Just becuase he’s visiting KC after a cancer diagnosis, doesn’t mean he’s back in the fold. You can’t expect KC to not see him, but I doubt anyone at the palace is blind to Harry & his wife. He’s not exactly keeping his visit private, his team (Markle) put out an announcement within minutes of the Buckingham Palace statement.
This is about King Charles. Not Harry. Stop giving this guy so much importance. What has he done in life? Sure, he went to fight for his country. I bow to that. RESPECT! But that is it. For God sakes, stop reporting on M&H. We are sick of them.

It seemed sad that Harry's getting all this attention for doing something in the public eye, at this point when he's did nothing for the last several years (but cause heartache) and William who has stoically been by his family's side gets little to no mentioned not that he wants or needs one. He is still the future king.
What happens in the private family i don't care about, but the royal family should no longer contain Harry or Andy, no official duties for either. Its a distinction that needs to be made, however how much of this illness has been caused by the stress caused by Harry and Meghan , so no pressure should be but on Charles or William in royal or private life.
What a difficult situation at this sad time. I hope Harry finds the courage to apologise profusely. What ever has happenrd within the family he should have kept his big mouth SHUT
