Even with my actual job, I work 24/7 doing these repairs, over 100 hour work weeks, holidays and weekends and I don't even make 100k. In the bay area, that's insane. Lol Luckily I don't have a family to take care of. I definitely don't make enough for that.
Sad thing is, I'm actually killing all the computer repair jobs by teaching everyone how to fix things themselves. Lol

Dont work with Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-70FY, even after BIOS update. After supervisor password you can change Secure Boot, but UEFI still gray.
There's likely another setting preventing it from being changed.

Thanks for the video! I've bought Acer Nitro 5 AN 515-57 laptop without OS, and no matter what I do bios doesn't detect bootable flash drive - there is only "Uefi Shell" option both in bios "boot" tab and boot menu. I have tried to disable Secure Boot, set Supervisor Password, enable Boot menu. I created a bootable flash drive using Media Creation Tool (Fat32 and NTFS) and using Windows ISO + Rufus. Nothing worked. Maybe it's because "Secure boot mode" in Bios in "Security" tab is set to "standart" mode (not "custom"), and I can't change it (it is gray). The option "erase all security boot settings" is also not available (gray). In some laptops you can activate SATA mode if you press Ctrl+S in the Main tab of Bios, but in my case it appears another option - "VMD Controller", which doesn't help. Please help me what should I do so that flash drive become visible in bios?
Might be the flash drive itself or you're creating it wrong. What OS are you trying to boot?
@@ItsBinhRepaired I'm trying to boot Windows 11. I have tested the same flash drive on my old pc - it boots correctly. It seems to me that the problem is in laptop bios - it doesn't recognize any USB drives.
@@ivann6832 Have you tried going to the "main" tab and press ctrl + S? This will enable a hidden option. In this option you disable the "intel something" (can't remember) this will make it recognize hdds ssds.

Here is two options - disable VMD in bios, or just put on bootable usb "RST VMD Controller" and use it at installation process.

I'm my boot tab, it doesn't say boot mode, it just says enable/disable secure boot. I think I must have changed some setting. Now I can't fid how to change from legacy to uefi. Do you have any ideas? I have an acer spin 3.
Secure boot needs to be off to change that setting
@@ItsBinhRepaired yeah, it's off. It normally has the legacy to uefi option grayed out on other people's computers. But mine doesn't show anything.

Can someone explain to me why everything in the menu works when moving the arrows but when I go to “boot” it stays frozen on windows boot manager and won’t let me move around the menu on that category

do you have any idea what menu im on? my main screen is broken and ive resorted to doing this blind😒. after i'm pretty sure ive done all this, i'm taken to a menu where space, enter and esc makes the screen go black for a moment before turning on again. please help

Hi, can you explain how to disable the password? When I try to leave it blank it accepts it to be blank, but the options stay grayed out. I was obliged to leave it as a simple password, but I'd rather have none at all
After you change the settings to what you want, you can remove the password.

how did you put your secure boot mode fom custom to standard?
If it's locked, you might have to add a password to your bios first.

Depends on the settings. Turn off secure boot.
Everything is still greyed out, I added a password and its still grey. I changed stuff around, still grey. Im losing my mind and worried about all the stuff I have.

Bios isn’t correct. It’s called UEFI now.
It's the same thing. Uefi has mouse support. This doesn't.

Do you even know what RAID is? You need two drives to do that.

@@ItsBinhRepaired I think I found the root. I'm trying to install 32 bit windows while current one is 64. Now I'm looking how to wipe the laptop clean so I can install 32 bit, because it only has 2 gigs of ram, who installed 64 bit I don't know
