PHUKET, THAILAND - Today we’re going to eat a total of 21 dishes at 3 of the best southern Thai restaurants in Phuket. Get ready for a crazy amount of delicious Thai food! #Phuket #ThaiFood
Restaurant #1 - Mor Mu Dong (ร้านอาหารหมอมูดง) - First restaurant we’re going to today is Mor Mu Dong (ร้านอาหารหมอมูดง), one of the most famous restaurants in Phuket, and a place I eat at almost every trip to Phuket. The food is consistently good, and they offer some unique southern Thai foods you won’t find anywhere else. Here’s what we ate:
Stuffed sausage mackerel (ปลาทูยัดไส้)
Sour soup with vegetable (ต้มส้มลำเพ็ง)
Chili dip with dried fish (น้ำพริกขยำปลาฉิ้งฉ้างแห้ง)
Black ink squid (หมึกต้มน้ำดำ)
Snail spicy curry (หอยขมผัดชะพลู)
Shellfish salad (หอยตับยำน้ำแดง)
Fish head fermented soybean soup (หัวปลามงต้มเต้าเจี้ยวดำ)
Total price - 1,055 THB ($35.25)
Restaurant #2 - Kluay Mai Thai (กล้วยไม้ไทย) - Tucked off the main road and into a neighborhood this laid back restaurant serves Phuket styles southern Thai food. They have a mix of classic dishes, and certains special hard to find dishes. Here’s what we ordered:
Banana trunk (หยวกผัดเคย)
Fried curry paste fish (ปลาทอดเตรื่อง)
Dry shrimp chili dip (น้ำพริกกุ้งเสียบ)
Fried pork with salt (หมูคั่วเกลือ)
Chicken boiled turmeric (ไก่บ้านต้มขมิ้น)
Sour curry with taro stems (แกงส้มออดิบ)
Fried catfish (ปลามีหลังทอด)
Split gill mushrooms (เห็ดแครงผัดขี้เมา)
Total price - 1,110 THB ($37.04)
Restaurant #3 - Nam Yoi Restaurant (ร้านอาหารน้ำย้อย) - Finally to wrap up this triple best restaurants in Phuket ultimate tour, we went to Nam Yoi Restaurant (ร้านอาหารน้ำย้อย) - it was my first time here, and I would now say it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Phuket. The curries are full flavor. Here’s what I ordered:
Melinjo leaves with egg (ผักเหมียงผัดไข่)
Pork stew (หมูฮ้อง)
Shrimp and stink beans (ผัดเผ็ดกุ้งสะตอ)
Sandfish fried with turmeric (ปลาทรายทอดขมิ้น)
Spicy curry with split gill mushrooms (แกงคั่วเห็ดแครง)
Minced pork omelet (ไข่เจียวหมูสับ)
Dry curry chicken (khua kling คั่วกลิ้งไก่)
Total price - 1,185 THB ($39.59)
Altogether, three meals in one day, 21 dishes - or actually I think it was maybe 22 or 23 dishes in one day - cost $111.88.

Mark is successful because he is natural, down to earth and unpretentious. It's comfortable and relaxing to watch him but I look forward to seeing him in China and malaysia. Those places have hidden treasures yet to be discovered. Countries which are less touristy tend to have cuisine which is more authentic in taste. I visited Poland and Bulgaria years ago. They were wonderful experiences unrivalled till now.
I love how the server sat on the floor to take their food orders. It must have made the whole experience even more friendly and relaxing than it already was.
I so wish I could move there too. At least I can live there vicariously through videos like this one.

I enjoy watching Mark eating different kind of international food. One of my favorite is the Hungarian street food called langos. Lol. Watching him makes me hungry. The langos in the good old days were just the fried dough. Recently cheese or sour cream has been added. From the USA.
Love his energy, even I'm Thai still can't express the delicious taste of Thai food like he did.
My gf & I recently ate at all three restaurants during a week in Phuket, as well as some others that Mark recomended in other vids. The food at every place was incredible but Mor Mu Dong was our favourite! Thank you Mark Wiens for your amazing videos. I think you can start vlogging right away. Mark and Joel did come to Thailand to teach English and then started vlogging during their free time. So if I see your videos in some years, I wouldn't be surprised. :D

An amazing selection of food, 21 dishes for $111. So inexpensive for masterfully prepared dishes. I have probably watched several hundred videos of Mark in Thailand. I have only seen a couple of restaurants that were a bit out of my price range. One was a lobster noodle dish that feed several for $297. The other was a Michelin star restaurant in a home that was in Bangkok. I might spring for that one but there are so many choices for great food.
I'm just jeleous that Mark can eat so much and stay so thin !!! 🤣🤣

Aww man, my family planned a backpacking trip to Phuket back in early 2020. But then came the pandemic so we had to cancel the trip. 😒
Thai food is amazing, people that haven't tried it, needs to asap! Don't knock it til you try it! We live in a small city where almost everybody we meet doesn't know the difference between chinese food and thai food or any other asian dishes. So sad, So go out there and explore people!!

I was in Phuket many years ago! I loved it! I loved to eat the fry crispy fish with mango or papaya salad and a lobster bisque 😋 the name of the restaurant is DINOPARK!
