Niðavellir, a corpse-white moon shines. Dwarf-cave, the mystery deceives your view. Sindri's daughters, sons, and all children, in winter nights, they warm themselves in the stony mountains. Others build house and halls, castles and cabins. Come into the cave, because here, here it is good to sleep. Magical staves carved in a massive stone, dwarf-graves, cairns, and old bones. Hel's power, captured in the deep valley. Pitch-black darkness (nearly), in the golden hall. Lie down my children, yes, great is our living room. The stone floor is sparkling clean and here, here it is good to sleep. Being enthroned on flinty bedrock, the peaks of high mountains. Sindri and Hergill take a nap; the gray dwarves sleep here. Hear, my dear grande dame, Here it is good to sleep. Falling asleep now, the dark couple and the three children. When the clap of thunder is heard, We shall praise Thor. Inside our warm cave, here it is good to sleep. The indwellers sing a lullaby, now the dwarf-folk are sleeping.
THEY ARE, once i was feeling down because i missed a concert they had in my country, and my girlfriend wrote to them about the situation and they wrote her back, telling her that they were glad to have a fan in the caribbean, Snæbjörn even sent a selfie doing the sign of the horns... If i was a big fan of their stuff then i am even more so now
@@kevinbonet7783 I met them once and i thanked them that i lost about 50 kilo's of weight because i really get motivated in gym with thier songs. and they jokingly said that one of them should do the same to lose weight XD
Riff starting at 3:44 is one of the most refreshing things i've heard in a while. First time for me that I listen to this band, and I've already pre-ordered the album. simply awesome \m/ \m/
Honestly, I think it goes along with the vibe of the song. This is a viking band, after all, and Icelandic is quite possibly the closest we'll ever get to treditional Norse in this day and age.
It's too much for me. Funny thing is that I can sometimes make out the meaning of lyrics in Faroese, but Icelandic is beyond me. But it still sounds great, even if I have to look it up.
Imo learning Icelandic is slightly easier because it s more regular. there are exceptions too, but overall less than in German. And the writing system makes more sense in my opinion and is more phonetic
@Prototyp_devense yea german is not easy but i think iceland is way harder simply bc all the words are special, for example if i compare french to spanish they are similar but icelandic has something special
They are singing about Niðavellir, the home of the dwarfs. There you can get rest while Sindri sings you songs as you close your eyes and let the dream world take over you while you sing.
A love song dedicated to their couch? Sofaaa! That moment when your production cost is literally a tank of gas and a bag of gummy worms for the editor lmao.

I think the concept is that there is no concept. Probably had limited time and needed a low budget video. They don't need fancy and expensive music videos, unless they want to, otherwise the music speaks for itself.

what I really like with Skalmold is that they stay real , great song and video !
They seem like genuinely cool guys too

We have a friend named Kenny so we sing : Kenny's on the sofa!
I dont understand a word but i still listen to Skalmold. This new song is awesome!
read the description, they say what the song is about.
Thanks!
It is a lullaby for children. Heavy metal children to be specific.
Then take a lingo class =)
Went addicted to Skálmöld when i saw the concert with the symphony. Love this band! Greetings from Germany!

BTW awesome song, guys!

It's a great song and the words are very cool as well. It is a pitty that very few people understand them :o)
I*m norwegian, and with a little help from my icelandic friend Nõkkvi i can read and understand the lyrics. Same with the song 'heima' from Skàlmöld.
It's too much for me. Funny thing is that I can sometimes make out the meaning of lyrics in Faroese, but Icelandic is beyond me. But it still sounds great, even if I have to look it up.
Me and my children love this. It's basically theme music for my house!
I have listen to the new album a few minutes ago and I have to say "brilliant"! Thank you guys for this excellent work. Greetings from Germany
if I can learn to sing along with Rammstein, I can learn to sing along with Skálmöld. Till Valhalla!!!
Imo learning Icelandic is slightly easier because it s more regular. there are exceptions too, but overall less than in German. And the writing system makes more sense in my opinion and is more phonetic
