I can't believe it, but Skálmöld stills finds new ways to make more awesome music. What's more, they're even getting better. One of the best bands I've ever heard.

You're mixing things up. Skálmöld is not an Ásatrú band, they simply use Icelandic tradition in art. As for heathens, I'm not a fan of neo-paganism, as we know too little of the old religions to reproduce them accurately. Furthermore, I believe that ancient polytheistic religions are much more tied to culture than abrahamic religions are. Meaning I'm a bit dubious of people claiming another people's heritage. But that's just my opinion.
Well you need to understand the lyrics..... and the lore.... and the history.... Then you will understand the song, the imagery everything. Just feel it makes your blood boil! It's so great! these guys freaking rock!

As a Dane growing up in Denmark, I find the lyrics of this song difficult to understand. We have forgotten so much. But I understand the soul of this song.

Saw these guys in Bucharest some years ago liv i think in the opening of AleStorm... I loved them. So professional, everything is so structured yet unpredictable. They deserve more attention yet maybe with more attention they'll turn into what Metallica has become lately... Actually i belie iceland is the last nation that actually speak norse. the language of the vikings. they even got a language council to make damn sure it's a norse word for modern stuff.
while the part about the language council is true, you however can't really say that modern day icelandic is "norse" as in how the vikings spoke it. but it's still pretty close

Icelandic is like svenska and norsk. You just have to replace the 'å' with 'Þ', 'æ' and 'ð', retrieve most of the words that come from french and english, add some 'ur' everywhere and make it a hell lot more difficult to pronounce and there you go! Almost the same I say. ;) Going there next week. Might have to play this, Sólstafir and Sigur Rós in the car the whole trip.

Well We never quit our Old Gods...I'm for example as majority here a member of the Church of Iceland so I'm Lutheran yes? ... but it doesn't stops me from praying to the Old Gods. I do not throw away Jesus Christ, but I do pray also to the Old Gods, it was always like that in my family and will be ! If I pray (not so often) It depends the reason sometimes it's Jesus sometimes other God or usually Goddess... so I don't see any problem.

I understand the lyrics. Skálmöld is not pagan, they use pagan myths. Not the same thing.
If they are following ásatrú or not is not so relevat, they know the lore, the sagas everything.
