It's one of the reasons why the track "Jack" by Breach is always a go to when I need some minimal techno vibes. Weirdly, I can hear some pseudo baseline tones in this that have a similar feeling.
nice jam 🤗 Thanks for the simultaneous sound demonstration 🔊🎶 without talking etc. My Volca Drum is coming tomorrow, I'm looking forward to jamming with it 😀
Nice stand alone demo. I so want this and the fm. I have the sample bass and keys but these two and maybe the sample would make a complete triple set up. But yea the sample and drum are definitely the most stand alone for beats and bass sequences = fun 👍
Jlbmixes90210 the fm is a really nice sounding peice o kit i really dig the keys fm and kik so far ive got the beats but really only use that in a micro set up i hav with a couple of TE pos bass and arcade and a kastl . So yeah id recommend the fm , i juz ordered this today to go with a few other drummies ive got , ive been looking at the modular but so wish it was twice the size but will prob get it to modulate with the kastl
I’ve got this machine but never spent the time with it! We’re in full lockdown so in the U.K. so I’m catching up with some saved videos/tutorials and just thought “yeah this is my sort of jam”
So my favorite out of the Volcas I own (Sample, Keys, Bass, FM, and Beats) is the FM. Basically it's a DX7 with some sequencing/arpeggiation. All of them are useful in their own way, just remember you are getting a small box of goodness...
My reason to want this is that sample and beats volcas are pretty limiting in terms of creating your own sound (though absolutely loveable in their fields), you basically change them to a certain extent, but never create from ground up. While this is a synthesizer, not a rhythm machine or a sampler and it gives you more creative freedom, which some may like in their rhythm section and some may not. I would.
@@huntersandell859 I may be wrong but it has no oscillators and even no internal mic to record samples directly, but to be honest a lot of ways to change samples that are either already in the memory or written from the phone app. In my opinion that's pretty limiting, comparing with microsampler for example, which has a mic.
Ryan Devine there's a setting for Active Steps, the default is 16, you can set it to 15. Then put in a kick beat every 3rd step or all 15 steps with an Accent on every 3rd step and you have 3/4 time. That's a good question, I started messing around with it and got some interesting ideas using 3/4 time.
Actually played around with this further, Active Steps is on a Part basis, so you have to set it for each part, not hard to do. Setting it to 15 gives you 5 bars at 3/4 time, if you're jamming with other devices you might want to set AS to 12 to give you 4 bars, otherwise you might get out of sync. Crazy thing with AS is since it can be different per part you can have different lengths for each part, between that and the probability setting you can make really random stuff.
I love minimal. So simplistic but makes you move all the same.

Thanks -- I've been thinking of buying a Volca Drum. This is the first demo that demonstrates that it can do, what I hoped it could do.
I really like the sound of the volca drum, I don't have one but since it's so affordable I might get one eventually

@@OG_Zlog so how has been the experience? How many more have you bought since then?😆 They are kind of addicting🤪
deep house :) portable ER1 . Ill be getting one for sure. Looks mad fun. Specially synced to Volca FM or Bass

A very sweet groove!

.:very interesting, excellent work:. 🎶👍🎶
You are the only one who knows how to get a decent bass drum out of this machine. :-)
I Hope you're kidding
I got mine on thursday and already got some really great ones
Yeah, I really feel like you can create almost any kind of kick you want. This machine definitely has a sound, but it's still versatile.
The bass is actually amazing you just have to turn everything down, then blast it, so the bass is the loudest.
I’m pretty sure I could magange that
Really nice sounds!
Lots of sounds. Still learning to adjust volume.
Glad I bought it! $$
really like the sound of the kick, how you do to make it so low and deep? i mean, in my volca drum the kick is more sharp and has a faster attack.
Really good, more videos!please👍
A nasty tiny piece of gear! Isn't it??
I'm thinking to get a second one!
This will be my next thing to get!
Volkaman. riichie hawtin awesomeness
Easily the best Volca drum demo I’ve heard so far, but the sound pallete seems a little limited.
I thought so too, untill I saw Cuckoo's vid. It's quite a powerful little machine!
rhodes1986 Cool. Didn’t know about the double layer thing!
OttoNL Thanks I’ll have to check that out cuckoo does a great Elektron models:Samples tutorial video as well!
Quite cool.
I dig the house sounds you are getting out of the volca drum - is that a preset kit?
I don't think so, but it wouldn't be difficult to create such sounds on Volca Drum.
I haven't heard any kits this good on youtube yet though.
Classy...
Sounds cool
Dope Bro. (Volca drum is the best volca. It's not easy to get one for a good price...)
What do you mean? They’re cheap AF.
@@HotStrange What do you mean with cheap?
@@grosswisier you said it’s not easy to get for a good price, but the Volcas are very cheap.
@@HotStrange I bouht a Keys and a Beats for 60€ (each). That was a good deal...
@@grosswisier i mean that’s great, but now I really don’t understand your first comment lol
Nice vid, thanks. Interested in the Volcas but a bit worried that they're too limited - would you say you'd found the same?

finally some decent demo !!!! thanks! are you happy with it? why not sample or beats?

Max Telmanov - But... the Volca sample does exactly that. It lets you create your own sound from the ground up.
