- Former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly was caught on tape threatening a JetBlue worker while his flight was delayed at JFK airport in New York. 'You're gonna lose your job,' the hot-headed one-time TV host told him. The employee even held up his name-tag to make it easier for him to read - but O'Reilly, 72, still accused him of being 'arrogant.' O'Reilly, who had his face mask pulled down below his mouth, was fired by Fox in 2017 after numerous harassment claims were leveled against him.

The plane was delayed 5 hours. Bill goes to ask why and they send for a manager. A douchebag comes out with an obvious attitude. He barely speaks English, refuses to address the delay, and then immediately claims he is being "violently threatened" when Bill shows a moderate level of anger. Yeah. The anger was justified. I would have shown a lot more.

JetBlue gave no reason why they were delayed. this was the third announcement; many people on the flight already left to find flights with other airlines. All the passengers felt the same way as Bill. If you hear the details about JetBlue:
-not have a PILOT for the flight
-delaying it 7 hours
-calling a pilot on his day off to drive in several hours later
It might provide some contrast to the simple, out-of-context narrative presented in the video.
But what did the employee have to do with it. He doesn’t schedule pilots nor was it his fault the flight was delayed. How did yelling at a low level employee get Bill O’Reilly on his flight any quicker? Really?
@@kylasbibi He didn't yell, and due to the muffled audio, we don't know exactly what exchange took place and if the employee was dismissive. Judging by the course of the conversation, I could see that being the case.

True story - if you listen, you can hear him say "they're already 3 hours late" - this flight ended up being more than 7 hours late, because JetBlue is scheduling flights for which they don't have flight crews! Eventually, they called in a pilot on their day off to fly this flight.
Bill was asked by the customers ALSO taking the flight to find out what the problem was. He was speaking for ALL of them.
I suspect that if a famous person like O'Reilly wasn't the person complaining, nothing would have been done. Just one more reason not to fly JetBlue.

Bill was right to confront the situation. Unfortunately, airline employees are put in a position of power to threaten anyone without a status with a termination or even police/TSA. I've been in such a situation and will never take side with an airline staff until the power-dynamics situation is reverted back to a normal one for relationship with a customer.

They convey the termination and police to the customer so from any point of view they are the messenger of a corporation and their job is to face the consequences of the anger if said customer whose flight is terminated/TSA illegal nut grabs will commence.

I think Bill O Reilly gave a great example of someone who is a "winner" on paper or on TV, but who seems like a miserable old coot nonetheless. I hate to say it because I don't approve of Mr. O'Reilly's losing his temper but I just went through the same thing myself about two weeks ago. My flight was delayed 3 hours with no explanation as to why. It made for a horrible experience. I believe Mr. O'Reilly asked the gate person for an explanation as to the delay which anyone is entitled to ask for and the gate person said something to the effect of I am giving you one and I am not going to ask which was baloney. I have seen other passengers go through the same frustration and it is not an uncommon reaction to see passengers lose it.
You people expect to be given a reason. Use your heads. There are only really 2 reasons for delays, weather or repairs. So why the hell bother asking. That will always be the reason. Do you think someone in the airline or govt is sitting around thinking how much fun it would be to delay a flight????

I deal with people like him sometimes who think they can intimidate you. I understand people being upset, but yelling at the gate keeper doesn't make things go faster and it doesn't make me help you. If you get nasty my response is I don't know how much longer, which is the truth.
But this employee seemed clueless! He had no answers. You must be prepared to handle the situation with concrete information and solutions.
