Thanks for describing in 5 minutes what some yahoo in a different channel was going to explain in 32 minutes.

Thanks for this, my professor literally doesn't teach us anything and we have to look up everything to succeed and this helped WAY more than just words on a page!

I after double clicking on the layer mask (the one on the right), the menu you displayed did not appear. Was there a change in the program since you published this in August 2021? Currently, it is May 2022.

Hi. I'm working with the latest version of Photoshop and I'm still getting the menu as it appears in the video. I'm not aware of any changes. Maybe try hitting the tab key to see if the options appear. Sorry I can't be more help

@@solopress I had the same issue. I remember a couple of days ago when I first clicked on the layer mask, it asked me "what do you want double clicking on the layer mask to do?". And obviously I chose the wrong option. But I've found that right clicking (or ctrl+click) on the mask layer and choosing "select and mask" brings up the options you have there.

I hope my question would be answered 😅 But why is it that I can erase using the black brush but when I try to use the white brush it doesn't seem to do anything? Is there anything that I should turn on/off or settings to change?

If you've got the mask thumbnail selected, anything you paint in black will hide the image under the mask. Anything you paint in white will reveal the image under the mask. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the question.
