CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Toulour (Vincent Cassel) proves that he is the best thief in the world by avoiding roaming laser beams in a museum.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
After pulling off the heist of their lives, Danny Ocean and his pals unexpectedly find themselves back in harness in this sequel to 2001's blockbuster hit Ocean's Eleven. After robbing a cool $160 million from the Bellaggio Hotel Casino and winning back his former wife, Tess (Julia Roberts), from Bellagio owner Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), Danny Ocean (George Clooney) is living quietly on the lam in Connecticut when he's unexpectedly approached by Benedict. It seems Benedict has tracked down Danny and the ten men who helped him pull off the seemingly impossible robbery, and Benedict offers them a proposal -- if they can repay the $160 million in two weeks, he won't have them killed. As it turns out, both Danny and his best friend, Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), haven't been doing so well in terms of money management and could use some cash, so they set out to plan a robbery to recover the loot, with the same crew helping out -- Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon), Frank Catton (Bernie Mac), Basher Tarr (Don Cheadle), Saul Bloom (Carl Reiner), Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould), Livingston Dell (Eddie Jemison), Yen (Shaobo Qin), Virgil Malloy (Casey Affleck), and his brother Turk (Scott Caan). Danny and Rusty discover that an incredibly rare Fabergé egg is being displayed at a museum in Rome which would fetch the price they need, but they soon discover a notorious cat burglar, François Toulour (Vincent Cassel), is also after the egg, and it turns into a race to see who can claim it first. Adding to the intrigue is Isabel Lahiri (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a woman Rusty used to be involved with who is now a top agent with Interpol and is after both Toulour and Ocean's crew. Shot on location in both the United States and Europe, Ocean's Twelve was, like its precursor, directed by the stylish Steven Soderbergh, who also photographed the picture under his nom de lens, Peter Andrews.

Security guard 1: Wow, look that guy. Awesome.
Security guard 2: Should we told him we have cameras?
Security guard 1: No, no, let's see what this guy does next.
🤭🤭🤭 yup
And also the movement detection covers a ratio the laser ting is fake.
Or its would go like this
Security guard 1: through ivy, through our connector, out middle like a speed demon
(I forgot how it actually goes)
I reckon the security guys were so impressed by his skills they decided that he deserved the egg as a prize :)
he can shut them down with a pinch or something
This scene left such an impact I don't even remember the rest of the movie tbh...

@@fintanbochra how dare you are saying that to him!
is a good movie
if I'd have a museum and a "thief" coming through the lasers dancing like this, I will give him the jewelry as a present, because this is not a robber, is a genius
I gotta hand it to him, he really is the best
I might be there waiting for him with his deserve jewel
if you had a museum like this with a utterly useless laser system like this, you would be fired for being incompetent. Cool scene, but zero basis in reality. Security systems do not work that way.
@Brutus Tan its a movie man If your idea of fun in a movie is realism I don't think you will enjoy many of them.
In fact the scene is not fake, when vincent cassel was 20 he travelled to Brazil to learn capoeira, and it was his idea to use capoeira to dodge the lasers :). He did this scene and the only fake thing are the lasers which are made by computer. Vincent Cassel= AWESOME
I will admit, it IS a brilliant scene, I just feel sorry for Cassel's character in the end
Always take the shot awesome
@Lairdriver Filthy rich yeah but he was light $197 million after this scene LOL
You mean irl or for the movie? Because this type of security system is not real, at least I can find no evidence whatsoever that they exist anywhere but Hollywood.
We have laser area scanners at work. The idea is to prevent anyone from standing in a certain area so the machine cannot harm them. It scans the entire area (could be up to like 50 sq feet or more) constantly multiple times a second(entire area is scanned in like 50 milliseconds) with no visible beams. You could never, ever outmaneuver it.
Amazing man, I never knew that!! This is by far my FAV scene in the movie!! And the music is usually stuck in my head for days after watching!! :D I didn't even know about Capoeira until 1992 when I saw Only The Strong with Marc Decascos, another great film and really opened my eyes to this style of martial arts!!! Its beautiful!!
How dafuq did the french guy verbally explain his process of evading all those lasers...
"And then I did this really cool flip and then I used my hands and feet to rotate myself and then I jumped as the lasers made this like cool square and then...
he recorded the scene in his cellphone. And just said to them... ok watch this!
its a joke lmfafo
+kiranjot singh yeaaaaaah lol, I hope you are now realizing the "dumb" one is you.
A thief won't give up his secretes, will he?
Now let's see him do the Resident Evil laser hallway.
The lasers would move around him
Or "Entrapment" (one has to think with Catherine Zeta-Jones in this movie that THAT movie had some kind of inspiration on this scene as well)
Those lasers were like, ‘You move, we move’.
YIKES!
Oh dude no. Not even jorah mormont or walter steel could dodge them.
In Germany, we have a spy museum and there's one room where you can manouver through lasers like a secret agent while this song is playing :D
Look up “Berlin spy museum laser maze fail”
Don't tell lie please. I'm in Germany I've never heard about it
Wait we have a spy museum?!
Harry Harry I don’t believe a word of what you just said. But I guess you can try explain it one more time instead of your round about loopty loop way...
Been there awesome place
That playful heel kick at the end. Bravo Vincent.
Great dancers gotta pay homage to those that came before them. It's tradition.
"...okay, but why didn't you just go around it?"
"Because shut up."
😂😂😂
Because it’s a movie and this is a much better scene duh
Because... French.
Cuz the only way to the egg was through that hallway, the other rooms to the sides don't connect to each other.
@@johnnyd1824then how did he leave after he obtained the egg?
The best part of the movie.
Elegant and totally badass.
More like lazy and unoriginal
Terrible scene in a bad movie...
Perfect combination of cinematography, music, and acrobatics. A brilliant scene!
You forgot stupidity
Dat little heel click at the end doe.

How do you think I feel? It's been 16 years, I can't get it out, goddammit!
Just watched all three movies for the first time. Twelve was definitely my least favourite, but this scene is probably my favourite out of all movies. Iconic
Same. I felt like 12 was the weakest of the Clooney-Pitt Ocean's trilogy. Would've been better if it turns out, he has a group of ppl working for him. Would of been an epic crew vs crew fight.
Yeah, 12 was a bit dark, as their lives were (allegedly) on the line the entire time. 11 and 13, they just felt like some action. lol
Same,Vincent character is just too good i wish he had more screen time 😭
12 was the funniest one.
@@guyr3618 agree with this. Worst plot, but best comedy
"How did you get through the lazer fields?"

FROM IVY OUT MIDDLE
That's what I like about the movie. It wasn't the same as eleven.
They made the "villain" better than the protagonists. He was simply better and only lost because they tricked him and LeMarque helped.
He was more skilled as a thief but Danny/Rusty obviously proved themselves to be smarter and strategically better than him as they got what they wanted by just pulling off a simple trick.
Well he broke the first rule so in return they had to get him back. Le Marc also wanted that egg because his wife made him return it.
HE'S DOING IT SIDEWAYS
ImAlpha_ bhop god.
thank you!
Oceans 12 may just be an ok movie but this one scene is incredible
The whole part with Tess pretending to be Julia Roberts just made me cringe. The rest of the movie was fine.
Agreed. This was probably the weakest of the trilogy, but this scene is probably alone the most epic in all three
Ok? This was really good
Definitely the weakest of the 3 movies
zach rizzo yes too cheesy
Vincent Cassel, the Nightfox, said the day after they did this he couldn't walk. I can see why! That looked hard but it was so amazing! Everyone did a great job especially Vincent and the Cameraman and the Director.
Katie Rose Wells And the CGI crew, must have stuck there with the directors to edit this piece for hours.
This might be one of the most amazing scenes in movies history
no
Definitely not
Yesn't
The music , the setting and actor just fits altogether so well
I love that heel click at the end.
He like doing that, even in the french movie "la haine" he did it
Going to the kitchen at 3AM and getting a snack be like:
you expect me to believe the man danced his way back while holding the damn egg on his way out ?
*throws egg across the room* lets hope that worked.
Maybe he shut the system off?
One of the coolest scenes from the movie history ‼
And NO stunt double!
I remember seeing this movie in theaters. It got a great response from the audience.

@Harry Harry no, that is not how a motion detector works nor a laser, not according to modern physics theory anyway

"12" was in NO way comparable to "11" & "13", but THIS scene made up for a major part of it!!
Personally I would just go behind the statues but hey that's great for him
One of the greatest scenes ever made! Absolutely Amazing Scene!
For some reason... I enjoyed watching Catherine Zeta-Jones avoiding the lasers way more.
Hahaha I remember that to!
That's...understandable.
that was simply beautiful! :) hes a walking talking symphony dancing through the lasers with such grace style and flawless skill this guy really is the best theif!...but danny is the better con-man which is why he always comes out on top!
So this is what phoon is doing these days.
Imagine being the VFX guys and editors trying to figure out how to put as many lasers as possible in the scene without actually hitting him.
After 3 seconds of crossing the room, he comes back to where he started from. Pure audacity. Sacré Vincent !
This is THE BEST scene from this movie! I love the Night Fox's methods!
Soderbergh: Just do your random capoeira moves, Vincent, as crazy as humanly possible, and we'll put the lasers in post.
clearly before wireless earbuds. best scene of the movie.
0:11 How it feels to make a joke in 2019
De las mejores escenas de toda la saga, me hace comprender mejor al caprichoso personaje, nunca debieron llevar esa competencia hacer trampa y delantarse.
Music .. "Thé à la Menthe" (Tea with mint) as in Arab world..Wikipedia says" Composers:
La Caution is a French hip hop duo consisting of members Hi-Tekk and Nikkfurie. They are notable for creating the song "Thé à la Menthe" which is known for appearing (in instrumental form) in the film Ocean's Twelve. The phrase "thé à la menthe" is French for "mint tea"."

Everyone talking about how amazing this scene is but it's literally just a dude dancing around an empty room with lasers painted in after the fact
This is still one of the coolest things I've seen in a movie. Plus the song is great.
Vincent Cassel appears in the music video for the song in this scene. The song is called La Caution - Thé à la menthe
I would love to be the police investigator who gets to watch this on some security camera while looking into how some thief got through...and at the end find my jaw wide open.
Toulour really was the best, all Danny had on him was his team :P. I love this series :D i hope they somehow make Ocean's 14 The retirement epilogue or something :)

@@DSMTheEditor holayyy I forgot I commented this
Vincent Cassel is brilliant actor
The only part of this movie I truly enjoyed. The movie was written in such a way that it left the audience out in the worst way. This felt like one of those films where the writers tried to be too clever because of the success of the first one. I will never forget this scene because it was so amazing.
So people that make museum security systems have never heard of motion detectors? Because it seems like motion detectors covering the whole room, instead of lasers only sweeping a very small part of the room at a time, would have stopped the guy from breaking in.
Ao Chen the museum probably had to put up a fake so as not to cause a controversy
you're such fun at parties aren't you? haha
loved his character in Ocean’s Twelve.
he’s the best no doubt, but he was cocky.
Wasn’t expecting the music to actually be decent with the dancing around lasers lol.

The lasers come from behind the statues and occasionally go behind them
