Thanks for checking out the game! ♥ As much as we all enjoy watching RCE fail bridge design (😂) - as the dev I can confirm he unfortunately encountered a bug that deleted all his mortar! #hedidntpaymetosaythis Thankfully that bug has been now fixed! Keep an eye out for his bridge featuring in the official launch trailer next week...!
We ABSOLUTELY need more episodes of you free building bridges and anything else you fancy! This was so much fun to watch. I hope it gets the engagement it needs to keep going!
8:48 you should have put blocks between the 2 towers on the ground level first before building the second tower so the eecond is exactly the right distance away.. and then have more cross beams.. ideally 3... top middle bottom..
This video made me wonder if RCE was still in his architect thinking mode from a previous video because there were some very basic engineering mistakes made with building this bridge.
@@professorfukyu744 when i was a kid we had a wendy house and under it my parents used to keep chickens and other birds.. later on me and my sister used to play in the sand there and make "cakes" out of mud, sand, bird poo etc..
Good attempt with the given mortar bug,but you could've made it a little more sound with nails in the flat boards. They don't come standard and must be added
I've said before and I'll say again, this game seems made for this channel. I may not be the main demographic, but my favorite videos here are always the more engineer involved sagas... Episodes from Timberborners, Engitopia, Hydroneer, The UK Space Agency, and Trailmakers are truly some of my favorites. I may not fit the algorithm, but I will always appreciate those uncivil engineering moments that define the Real Civil Engineer....
So, what if you made a tensegrity bridge in this game? Like, make that design, but have central beams in tension with the bracing and then put panels on top for walking
You may not have the proper game destroying enthusiasm of LGIO, Spiff, or GrayStillPlays, but breaking the game is a critical and hilarious activity. Well done.
The Mortar needs Time to Dry. Erect your Tower in a Strong manner Overnight, so Tomorrow it will Stand Tall, Nice and Sturdy. Excellent Content as Always!!
Honestly starting to think he needs a disclaimer for the engineer bits... it's been awhile and some stuff is starting to cross the line to an architect
Matt, genuinely thank you. My life would be a black hole of steam games without you. I can jusy see the bits i wany to see from the games i think look fun and not have to spend all the buildup time and learning games. Which means i get all the enjoyment of messing with games (which you do in the same highly efficient manner that i tend to) but i still have almost all of my time to do my actual work (music) instead of playing games and prograstinating. Really ebjoying the city skylines 2 stuff too. Thanks man.
Real engineer slapped two misaligned pillars next together and say it is within building tolerance. And then bind it together with some nails, as a true engineer would. Then proceed to complain about architects, very engineer thing to do indeed.
Day 114 of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet. It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
The cable stay was a nice idea, but it looks like just a plain old series of underside supports would have sufficed. Simpler is always the superior method, RCE. Still, it was fun watching the attempt to turn Enjenir into Polybridge 3D.
does the game class the mortar as wet and soft? maybe the towers are dropping lots cos u build it with no physics on and so when u suddenly turn on physics all the mortar gets squashed instantly by the weight of the blocks and so it loses height of say half the height of all the mortar times by the number of blocks.. meaning quite a large drop.. i dunno if thats how the physics of the game works but it might be worth turning physics on while building or at least every so often.. instead of doing the entire tower and then turning it on?
@@dkosmari Yes! We actually rebuilt his bridge in testing and (with some super minor modifications) it actually held up! It looked and worked so well we used a slightly modified version in the launch trailer... 😂
Day 9 of waiting for Matt to upload Mindustry Part 3. FFOTD: The only 3 robot units that can generate shields are: Serpulo: Quasar, Oct. Erekir: Tecta. Quasar's shield: 400 hp, range of 7.5 blocks, repair speed of 18 sec, has a cooldown of 6 sec. Oct's shield: 7000 hp, range of 17.5 blocks, repair speed of 240 sec, and a cooldown of 8 sec. Tecta's shield: 2000 hp, range of 7 blocks (Tecta's shield only generates in front of it and not around it like the other 2), repair speed of 36 sec, cooldown of 8 sec.
I think the tensegrity might have been off as most structures don't use more than 3 cables on the corners and the exact design you made is done without the 2 ropes in the back, the ones that are sagging
This was so entertaining, RCE! Although, it got me thinking... Why are the two support towers dropping after construction? Perhaps no foundation underneath?
I can tell you guys, those tensegrity tables are really cool. Build myself one and they are so satisfying. Oh and everyone who sees it the first time ismindblowed at first hahaha
Thanks for checking out the game! ♥

Oooh!
VINDICATION
This game is an accurate description of engineers, Now we all understand why RCE doesnt build bridges anymore.
The enjenir having no mortar feels surprisingly fitting.
Good feedback to the (potential) community! Thanks for the info.
You say that engineers are all bald under the hair, but I think everyone is bald under their hair.
Yeah, lol
Just my thought
yeahhh!
Seeing the empty space inside the head was more telling. heheheh
everyone has a little bit of engineer inside them
Matt: Cuts out footage of bridge collasping.
Also Matt: comments on how satisfying watching it fall is.
I don't believe they were the same people. The editor just needs to pay more attention to the content.
7:28 thank god he didnt build a plane next
NAHHH 💀
Ow sh*t. 😂😂
That's great thinking
We ABSOLUTELY need more episodes of you free building bridges and anything else you fancy! This was so much fun to watch. I hope it gets the engagement it needs to keep going!
It wouldn't be an RCE video without the phrase "That nearly worked" 😉😉
"Not gunna lie"
Happy to see you come back to this. Seems like a fun game.
E
It really is, you should check it out sometime!
8:48 you should have put blocks between the 2 towers on the ground level first before building the second tower so the eecond is exactly the right distance away.. and then have more cross beams.. ideally 3... top middle bottom..
He should've made a plane too
@@captaincactus5247And a boat, a big one, like for cruises
Maybe nailing the sheets onto the bridge deck would have helped too, instead of just dropping them on it.
But after all, it’s Matt isn’t it, and that’s what we all love about him
Devs commented on the game,. it was a bug that deleted his mortar
This video made me wonder if RCE was still in his architect thinking mode from a previous video because there were some very basic engineering mistakes made with building this bridge.
10:58 "Mister president, they've- uuuhhhhh......"
RCE gives me a smile every time he uploads
😁😁
keep it up Matt.
i always thought a creative sandbox is one that is full of cat poos and a kid with a big imagination

As a professional engineer i can confirm this is what happens when engineers try to build their own designs
Good attempt with the given mortar bug,but you could've made it a little more sound with nails in the flat boards. They don't come standard and must be added
Tensegrity has always been one of my favourite 'cool' things in physics.

MATT, whenever i play hangman with me friends, I have always added a brace there since I was like 5 years old. So relatable.
“ engineers are completely bald under their hair” lmao priceless!!
"Eventually, after much struggle, the Second Severn Crossing was completed and opened to traffic....just, not today."
Love this game RCE. Ive been part of this community for a bit, and you should play it more!

Best wrestling move ever, tower bomb, what a take out😂

As an American, when you built those twin towers I knew disaster was coming 😢
I placed this comment before you started saying "there's something so satisfying watching them fall"
😂😂😂 wow, salt in the wound
What you made was a finger joint aka box joint, RCE. Dovetails utilize angled cuts to form the shape.
Real engineer slapped two misaligned pillars next together and say it is within building tolerance. And then bind it together with some nails, as a true engineer would. Then proceed to complain about architects, very engineer thing to do indeed.
„Completely bold under their hair“ this comment was golden.😂
Thanks for teaching us about tensegrity! I never would have known what that was called.
12:52 Narrator: "The actual safety factor was determined to be 'No' very quickly."
This is bridge building + QWOP. Seems great xD
You should try making a catapult. Love your videos!
I did not think i was watching an architects video but its pretty clear. ♥

BILF is now my favorite word
They already corrupted the comments section with their “firsts”
Damn architects
try wider at the base. it is an advanced concept which only the best pyramid builders know, at least before written language.
MORE OF THIS!
As soon as I saw martincino "play" the bridge level I was like... real civil has either played this or MUST BE TOLD
“ we’ve got our 2 towers.” Proceeds to knock them over lol. Sound familiar?
You don’t “have a bridge for build” you “have a bridge to fabricate”
I never would have guessed that Engineers were completely bald under their hair. This changes everything!
Tensegrity, something only an architect would say
7:28 now we only need the plane
10:56 never mind we don't
Without a single degree they gave us roads that lasted eternity and then the engineers came

9/11 if the Twin Towers were built by Matt

Why didn't you add trussing under the foot platforms?
I retract my earlier statement.
0:34 never even thought it'd be something else
The cable stay was a nice idea, but it looks like just a plain old series of underside supports would have sufficed. Simpler is always the superior method, RCE.

“Engineers are bald under their hair” lol I’d say most are.
"Engineers are completly bald under their hair" isnt everyone??
Hobby woodworker here: dove tail joint? Yes… yes… yes, it is
Screws have higher tensile strength, nails have higher shear strength.
In the end we are all bald under our hair.
laughing soo hard for the end
My friend recreated the twin towers in this game
LMAO THE TENSEGRITY!
that landing was spot on

Hey RCE, u should try 'oxygen not included', seems to be right up your alley. It would be a perfect game for absolute mentalness
Can you try to build a fire watch tower with stairs and all. That seems like a fun idea.

keep it going
When he said something amazing about blocks falling and is talking about his twin(two) towers💀
I built such a huge structure my game wouldnt let me rotate camera
New physics sum test just dropped
Seems like one the things the game needs the most is some kind of snap to feature. A lot of your pieces don't' quite touch each other properly.
that it mostly worked with the tension is something. i doubt that would work in polybridge
I think the tensegrity might have been off as most structures don't use more than 3 cables on the corners and the exact design you made is done without the 2 ropes in the back, the ones that are sagging
Reminds me a lot of NYC in September 2001
RCE you should have gotten an architect to design that tensegrity table for you.
Dude I didn't knew you played this I wish for u to enjoy the game as much you would aaand I to watch the experience.
With how dopey your engineer looks in this game, it makes me think this game was made by an architect.
This was so entertaining, RCE!
Although, it got me thinking... Why are the two support towers dropping after construction? Perhaps no foundation underneath?
Apparently there is a bug that has been fixed that deleted all of the mortar in the block towers
Ah, that makes sense! Thanks!
8:32 we only needed one plane
I just realized that this bridge was used in the game's trailer
8:32 damn 24 years tomorrow never forget
RCE: give me a minute-
Me: *Lgio trauma*
0:32 you're actually going to build the bridge in a useful place. What happened to Matt, are you being hold in captivity by an architect ?
That's PROBABLY fine? What in the architecture is this?!

This looks cool but why did they make walking hard?

We have a tensegrity table at home

I am pretty sure that sheets dont have any nails in them by default, so you need to nail them manually
I feel you are gonna make this like city skylines

I didn't expect pike-crete to be the stronger solution.

There are a lot of potential dark and offensive jokes to be made here.
We need working tension bridge!
Being a bit wobbly just means it's better at wind resistance. As long as it isn't full wobbly, we're good.
