I love that this is at my home park. It’s one of my favorite rollercoasters. I have to admit, I’m glad it’s the only one in the U.S. It gives Kentucky Kingdom a unique ride. The only thing I wish this ride had was an extra 50 ft on the first drop.
Lightning run is the best coaster imo that’s only has a drop of 100 feet, only goes 55 mph, and only has 2,500 feet of track! More parks should add the Hyper GT-X! It’s an amazing coaster!
I went to Kentucky Kingdom for Storm Chaser, left blown away by Lightning Run. Storm Chaser is obviously good but I'd prefer my home park Worlds of Fun add one of these before they ever RMC the Timberwolf
No matter which way you order them, the state of Kentucky has a fantastic top three consisting of this, Storm Chaser, and Kentucky Rumbler. The top five being finished out by Kentucky Flyer, a fantastic family coaster, and Thunder Run, probably the best coaster with a Hurleresque layout.
I'am surprised more companies aren't building these rides. This would be a great addition for small parks like Magic Springs, Alabama Adventure or Mt. Olympus and even bigger parks that don't have a hyper coaster of any kind like Wild Adventures, Silverwood, Six Flags St. Louis, Michigan's Adventure or Holiday World.
We need more of these, how does no other parks have them, they only cost 8 million and they are pretty compact and people love them, I at least expect a six flags park to get one of these.
I was honestly let down a lot by this ride :/ it ran kind of rough which I don’t mind but I was told it would be smooth, also the airtime wasn’t very strong at all besides the last few hills. In the end I don’t think it’s a bad ride but people hyped it up WAY too much and I went in with high expectations and was let down a lot and the restraints stapled very hard.
XscreamThrills I was there for two days and got around 6 rides in total... when did you go? I heard that they might’ve been using a new wheel compound since they opened back up which would explain why it was running slow and rough for me...
We went during opening week this year and it was super smooth and I thought it had lots of airtime. I was honestly blown away by how good such a small coaster could be.
Chance rides should make more rides like this, this ride is amazing.
Great video! We are happy to see you back :) See you again soon!
Thanks! Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Looking forward for T4 lol
Hey, we got Kentucky kingdom in the chat!
This ride is never talked about enough!
Why haven't more parks added the Hyper GT-X? It looks so good!
That's possible, it's an inexpensive model that really packs a punch

I would love one of these at my home park of Lagoon.

Lightning Run is my second favorite coaster at Kentucky Kingdom behind Storm Chaser.
The way it should be
At 2:13 that dude's shirt flies up lol.
My home park Adlabs Imagica could do with one of these hyper GTX or a raptor/hot racer. I could see any of them being the #1 coaster in India

alan schilke designed this as well so thats why it has some RMC like elements
@@bmfanboy8838 i thought they both worked on it
@@bmfanboy8838 yeah ik, rcdb barley credits anyone for designs, there is more than 1 designer for coasters
Going tomorrow. Everything youre saying about this makes me so excited
Have fun!

The reason this ride is so similar to an RMC is because it was designed by Joe Draves (RMC’s current designer) and Alan Schilke
More then likely another reason another one does not exist.
@@AttanoPlays One is being built in Arizona for 2022
They should put one of these at Michigan’s Adventure
That would make a great fit!

Road it in august and had a blast. I think storm chaser is better but i loved lighting run.
Pretty great ride, i thought the middle was sluggish and i did not like the lapbars at all tho
The lapbars can get painful with those final bunnie hills
Love love love this ride
If I had the money to start a small themepark, I would really comsider a hyper GT-X for a major thrill coaster. One can dream.
Thsi is a great mini hyper dude
Awesome review!! Lightning Run rly surprised me when I rode last year! Question, will you be at Keys To The Kingdom
Unfortunately no
Wait did they repaint the trains?
It was designed by Alan Shilke thats why it feels like an RMC
Damn, really?
After COVID passes they should make a 140ft tall one and give it inversions also make it with lapbars
Edit: oohhh I got a heart ❤️
Reminds me of an intamin mega lite coaster
The layout is a little more twisted than an Intamin mega lite.
Can you do a Storm Chaser review?
Coming soon!
Between this and Storm Chaser, they got a good 1 2 punch at KK
Great collection all around at KK
Yes! Something for everyone
wishing knoebels would get a clone of this
Knoebels would make a great fit 👍
XscreamThrills it would
Just rode this recently. Everything seems pretty accurate, but I gotta say if you're a bigger guy, that restraint is TIGHT.
When the airtime is good 2:12
I just want to see more stuff from Chance rides (be it coasters or flat rides)
This is a ride where I can sneak my mom on and jumpscare her 😂

Strange to hear, maybe you had a bad day for the ride? I found this coaster loaded with airtime and butter smooth

I was there back on 7/9

if i had a theme park i would be straight on this! why has nobody else got one?
Who knows
the trains on lightning run look like RMC trains
They're very similar
Only reason this is the only hyper gtzx because of the gp
Great video! Have a look at my page and follow if you enjoy it 😊😁
I think this coaster would be a good fit at silverwood
This is what Kennywood should have instead of sky rocket.
Yeah doesn’t look that good on video either. Have to ride it myself
Do your research. It was designed by ride-centerline
Just going off the information from RCDB
