I read Chris Lemmon's first book, and it was heartbreaking at times. I had the impression that Jack Lemmon's marriage to Felicia Farr was toxic and very destructive, with Chris experiencing some pretty brutal treatment, emotionally. I give him a lot of credit for forgiving his dad and keeping the door open to their relationship.
You are correct. He went through hell and suffered a lot of emotional pain. He emerged from that experience remarkably forgiving and compassionate. I admire him enormously.
I always liked Chris Lemmon. I didn't know he continued to make films. It is wonderful to hear him say he believes in frequencies, vibrations and so forth. I always thought Chris had a tremendous amount of love, universal love, that just emanates. pours out from him, perhaps because he accepted the terms of his father's way of having a relationship with him. He accepted and that was that. But he gifts us with the spirit of love. Bless you, Chris. You got it all right. I, too, have been diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia. Listened to this twice. I agree that perhaps your emotions were twisted in your trying to breathe free and somehow your body obliged you. As we age we pretty much just try to figure out why we've manifested the dream of our issues without being aware of how to make a lot of it better. Judge Brownstone, you are a wonderful man, and I just realized you are broadcasting from the UK.
What a gem this interview is. Thank you! Absolutely love watching Jack Lemmon movies, my favourite being Some Like It Hot. Chris is so much like his dad especially when he smiles & laughs! A Twist of Lemmon is such a beautiful read.
Bless you, Chris!! You’re such a lovely man. Wishing you health and strength to manifest much more joy and happiness with you and yours!! God bless you, always!!! 🌺🤗🙌
I’ve been interested in Chris Lemmon for years. After seeing your interview, Harvey, I feel as though I have met him personally. He’s a wonderful person & excellent actor!❤
That means the world to me. I wanted to give my viewers a real look into his soul. I hope I did that. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to post your comment.
I listened to this interview & thought that Chris is such a strong, vibrant, intelligent, humorous, introspective human being & I'm sure his father could see that too. His father may not have left him money but left him qualities which he'll pass on to his own children. I'll look for Chris's book. A wonderful interview. Thank you for sharing!
This was an exceptional interview. You are ridiculously good at what you do, my friend. The questions you asked were on point and, at times, controversial. Especially about Felicia. You're a master interviewer, and Chris Lemmon has a megnetism that's all his own (even outside of his father). What a precious soul he is. Thank you for this interview. I came here to learn more about my favorite actor, Jack Lemmon. But, I ended up learning about myself (on account of what bubbled to the surface regarding my own relationship with my father and my own kids). So much of what Chris recounted was immediately relatable. Thank you.
What a great interview. I've only seen Chris very briefly before. He is an absolute delight. He has a good head on his shoulders and I wish him nothing but the best. He sure does look like his father and sounds like him too. I've been a Jack Lemmon fan since the 1960s. He was a favorite of my mother's too. So much of what Chris says resonates, and I need to apply these things to my life. Thank you for the insight.
What a wonderful interview. Chris has so many mannerisms of his father. The apple truly didn't fall far from the tree. My favorite movie of Jack's was "The Out Of Towners". I have watched that movie over and over. Jack did so many wonderful movies. I had no idea how many times I saw Chris and I am not sure I realized it was him.
I am in tears. You both were just so wonderful, open & I really could feel his pain when he spoke about it! It great to know he is so blessed with his beautiful family & his his life. I had no idea he had been ill, I thought he looked fantastic. The best of everything to the Chris Lemmon clan!! ❤️ Thank you, Harvey, you always bring perfection & class!!! 👍👍
Sadly, I didn't know you until this interview. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You not only look like your dad you, but sound like him. I've seen all of his movies. A wonderful actor. Comedy and Drama. My favorite is the 1962 'Days of Wine and Roses'. I cannot watch this film without crying, because it's the story of my life. And the memorable Academy Award song by Mancini and Johnny Mercer. Also, one of the most famous and classic lines in Hollywood movies is at the end of the 1959 'Some like it Hot'. At the very end of the movie between Daphney and Joe E. Brown. Wow!

A lot to learn from his story. So many kids just pine and feel sad that their dad works his life away but Chris too the good with the bad and decided to enjoy the time he had with his Dad. I like him.
Thank you Harvey and Chris for that wonderful interview. It's clear to see that Chris Lennon is a soulful and peaceful person who is true to himself and his loving family. Blessings.
So wonderful to hear Chris in this interview. His voice, face and mannerisms harken so much of his father, Jack. I loved so many of Jack's performances, but one of my favorites is from the film Glengarry Glen Ross. It's a hard character to watch on many levels because we know he's doomed from the start of the film. Jack portrays an unlikeable character, but we sympathize with him on different levels......he's gotten himself so far behind the 8 ball, he can't find his way out. Great performance.
Wow , what an honest and good guy is chris Lemmon. And Harvey what a good interviewer. I so enjoyed this interview. Much good health to Chris and a continued happy life💕

Great interview. I have seen Chris in stuff over the years but never fully appreciated his talent. I could only imagine what it would be like in the shadow of a legend like Jack Lemmon.

I am delighted to have stumbled on this interview in my feed. You may have “missed your calling” as a judge in light of your deft and splendid approach here, but I think that the two careers define your breadth of heart and mind. I will subscribe! As for Chris Lemon, I have a first memory of him as a young man: I am watching a movie in which uniformed “police officers” respond (Don’t know which one now). One of them, a good-looking, 20ish actor opens his mouth sounding exactly like Jack Lemon. I remember saying ‘wait a minute’ 😮 - could that be Jack Lemon’s son because that was an uncanny JL impression? (Same voice quality, even mirrored his way of speaking.) I waited for the credits (pre-Google) and sure enough, it was Chris. Didn’t know he existed, but DNA 🧬 is an amazing thing! That was my intro to Chris. Didn’t know he did so much thereafter, but the artistry is there. I believe that by befriending his father thru many obstacles, he created a path of healing for himself (and maybe his dad too) that not all offspring of celebrities manage to do, but ended up making good choices. He came across as a lovely human being who cares about life’s real priorities and people. Bravo, Chris. 😊 If I may, . . . a personal side note regarding the fascinating topic of children blaming themselves for their parents’ split: in my readings and ponderings over these decades, I have mused that a child generally does not know how to analyze and sort out complex relationships and motivations. (Thank you, Dr. Obvious! 😅) Therefore, a literal child (or the child within us) cannot mentally or emotionally assign blame to a beloved parent that is their world and support structure. It is easier for the child to maintain a measure of stability and control of their situation by blaming themselves rather than the parent. Naturally, this is all subconscious, as it is when even seen through adult lenses later. In certain situations, the adult son/daughter may continue to choose to sacrifice parts of themself to keep this illusion (and their inner world) intact with a living, admired or needed parent. In some cases (in our relatively brief lifespans), individuals may be able to relinquish the dream of the “innocent parent of choice”, but in other cases, no. We should not judge them as immature, but understand that by the time of maturity, this emotional “tumor” has connected itself to other pieces of the psyche, and the harm of disentanglement may (not always) cause unnecessary disturbance. I’m no Jung, Freud or even therapist, but these are my thoughts and I welcome others. Thank you again for sharing your gift.
WOW all I can say is WOW. What a privilege to read your insightful comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with all of us. I am so glad you found our show. I hope you will check out our other great interviews and provide your valuable feedback. Please consider doing me the honor of subscribing to our RUclips channel.🙏❤️
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Thank you! I have subscribed and can’t wait to see other episodes of your’s. I really love the way you interview. It is a tasty recipe of graciousness, curiosity, sublime kindness and honest talk. Carry on! 😊
Harvey, I was thinking of my favorite interviewers and it would be you Harvey, the late Robert Osborne from TCM, and Rob Word. Harvey, you are so good at your research, asking relevant questions and actually letting the guest talk. And your enthusiasm is top notch! Bravo! Five stars! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Andy I am deeply grateful and humbled by your very kind words of praise. I put my heart and soul into every single interview, hoping that my interviewing technique will resonate with people. Your support is so incredibly validating to me. Thank you from my heart to yours. ❤️
What an inspiring, but somewhat sad, interview with Chris Lemmon, Harvey. He was so honest and forthright. I loved how honest in describing his thoughts on ‘Blonde.’ I would’ve loved to have interviewed his dad too, if only to get his thoughts on some of his films and co-stars, including Walter Matthau, Sandy Dennis (‘The Out of Towners’) and Colleen Dewhurst (‘Tribute’). I feel for what Chris went through with his wicked stepmother and it’s sad he still carries the burden of that relationship. But he has survived a double lung transplant for five years and that’s miraculous in itself. I truly hope his new autobiography is published soon. Sounds like it’ll be a great read. The one child of actors I hope you’re able to talk to is Campbell Scott, son of acting legends Colleen Dewhurst and George C. Scott. He was able to play his mother’s son on stage in ‘Long Days Journey into Night’ (which I will always regret not seeing) and playing her neighbour on film in ‘Dying Young’ (one of her last films).
I’m really happy that you enjoyed this interview. Thank you so much for suggesting Campbell Scott. We’ll try to connect with him. It’s harder than it looks.
I don’t doubt it, but I wish you the best in securing an interview with Campbell Scott. (If you secure one, I am more than willing to help with questions to ask him…
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 why does your heart go out to her ? :-) My Dad’s second wife (my Mom passed away) sounds just like Chris Lemmons experience. Thank you Chris for sharing you gave great support to me . Just found this program. I subscribed and looking forward to more interviews.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I will definitely be doing that! I have spent the whole week-end with you and your interviews. You do such FABULOUS, CARING interviews. The depth and emotions and insights are PRICELESS.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 Harvey - you are one-of-a-kind. Your questions for the guests are always so very unique and the questions that I always wished some interviewer would ask. I've noticed you even surprise the guests sometimes with those really unique questions. Thanks a million! 🙂🙂
@Hihoweryew you have touched me so deeply by really “getting” and appreciating what I do. That means the world to me. Thank you so much from my heart to yours. ❤️
i love jack lemmon. i like to think that earth is a big stage and we're here acting out the lessons we agreed to prior to incarnation, and the tough relationship you have with your stepmom may be you helping each other with the issues you're here to work on. i had a tough time with my own parents and believe that forgiveness was the lesson that i had to learn with them. and i gotta say i'm still working on it. but despite everything i know too that they loved me and still do, as both your parents despite their rift did and do you, and that that love is eternal.
Amazing interview So surprised that his father left him out of his will or the children He looks and acts his dad Bless his heart going thru that lung transplant Hey Harvey you look so handsome
Thank you so very much. Yes Chris looks like his Dad and sometimes sounds like him, but he’s a MILLION TIMES better father than his father ever was. Sorry but I just had to say it.
Hello Harvey! I commented before when you did the Ann Margret interview and I’m commenting again regarding Chris because I was glued to the tv listening to this amazing interview. It was so interesting to hear about his life with one of my favorite actors (Jack Lemmon) but Chris is also a winner in so many ways which intrigued me. So nice to hear someone from Hollywood being appreciative instead of the victim mentality these days which runs rampant….😊Bravo to both of you. I look forward to your interviews Harvey and grateful that you decided to choose this as your second career!! Yeah!🎉
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I agree with Janice Harvey , you choose all the right people on your show No poor me, no anti what is going on in this world I stand with Israel, I said it I grew so great with parents , We had friends and family of color. Race and gay I brought my children the same way We live in a not so nice world I live Texas from Massachusetts Our governor would not tolerate what is going on in colleges everywhere Thank you choosing the best people Your the best When I listen I don't care who calls me lol I am glued to the TV lol Happy Wed, enjoy
Enjoyed this interview, Harvey. I would love to see you interview one of Bert Lahr (lion from Wizard of Oz) kids. His son, John Lahr, is a notable biographer. He wrote a biography book on his father. What do you think?
I love listening to the children of these movie icons. More often than not, the studio system back then painted a false picture of the celebrity for the only purpose of to generate income. Back then, there was so many human experiences that absolutely could not be part of the narrative. These kids give us a sober look at what and who these people really were. Fortunately, Christopher had a good dad and I’m sure some of his Hollywood peers wish they had the same. He really looks like his dad too! I’m sure that was a mixed blessing.
What a cool guy. And he sounds just like his dad. That’s amazing. Jack Lemmon was always one of my favorite actors. It’s so sad that he had to go through that lung thing. I mean really without your lungs you’re nothing. I can relate to the second wave thing. My dad married a woman who is was shall I say younger than my brother. My brother is almost 6 years older than me and she was in the middle of our ages with two small children. Everything seem to be OK for many years but then, all the sudden she turned into this crazy person. In the end, my dad died from cardiomyopathy, and he died too soon, and he died on the day that my son was flying in to surprise him for his birthday, and we were planning a party, and he should not have died. I found out later that she had given my dad a sleeping pill. Why would you give a man who could hardly breathe, and had a heart issue who his grandson was flying in for his birthday a sleeping pill? She’s an evil evil woman. She I can’t prove it but when I found out a year and a half later, my dad had a well it was eight years old. He had told my daughter that previous month before he passed that he was working on his new well. It’s not that he died before it got done I believe that it was never filed. But I should write a book, but I can’t prove anything, and it would be slander. In the end, she tried to rob me in court of what my dad had left me, and that old well, and I pursued with a vengeance and got more money than her lawyer said we should get. In the end, he helped us get what he knew we deserved. My brother and I. Life gets complicated and it’s hard to let go of these hurts.
Thank you so much. My management team insisted that I modernize my onscreen look (against my objections). Obviously they were right and I was wrong, given all the positive feedback we’ve received. Thank you so much for your support.
FYI Jerry Lewis left his eldest kids out of the will too. Jack Lemmon sadly mistreated his family and his grandchildren. Very terrible. Chris Lemmon had two lung transplants and is lucky to be with us
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I hope Chris, his stepmother and her conservator can come to peace before it's too late. I found some footage of Felicia from last year shot by a friend of hers and her condition is heartbreaking.
Still watching our show despite those intros you find to be too long? Hmmm….. maybe we’ve won you over? Or maybe you’ve figured out that Harvey is the best interviewer on the planet???
Billy Wilder really wanted Jack for the lead in Kiss Me Stupid, where he would be reunited again onscreen for a third time with Kim Novak. He supposedly said only if his then-wife Felicia would be the second female lead. Jack had to back out at the last minute and Wilder was stuck with Felicia Farr. He knew if he replaced Felicia Jack probably would be hurt.
It’s so tragic that Jack became sober and his second wife didn’t until after he died. Ironically, it’s akin to “The Days of Wine and Roses.” Jack and Lee Remick were masterful.
A REAL DIRTY TRICK from JL to disinherit this hero of existence, his son, who - in spite of it - titled his memoir of him the way he did ...Father/son relations can be strained and difficult, but not necessarily this infected. T. Curtis did the same. None of my biz to comment any further, but this is a sad piece of news to all fans of JL, totally contrary to what his ultra-humane self always reflected thru his various roles on the screen. He was such a chum, sardonic but truly human-like human in an identifiable way, unrelated to a culture- therefore able to reach them all.. Toxicity is a woke-related, post-feminist term I usually don t subscribe to, nor even use, but here it has a valid case; most regrettably. All 'n' all, JL s legacy stays strong in movie history, along w Mr Matushaskayasky's ...whether separately or combined. Walter even closed his set promptly with a work titled HANGIN UP ... A purrfect act to a larger-than-life personality than anyone will evvuhhh be able to surpass or overshadow - filmographywise. Good luck & Godspeed to the interviewee. A year ago I lost a lieutenant col buddy of mine to the same inherited lung fibrosis syndrome; he was 76, country 🇫🇮
SAVE THE TIGER, my pers #1 fav, topnotch. ( Havent listened yet). The noir elements make it above normal drama, PTSD connotations/wordplays/the arson motif. 2 neglected a work from ROCKY s dir these days. "Tyger, tyger, burnin bright - in the forests of the nite. What an immortal hand or eye could frame thy FEARFUL SYMMETRY ..." WB (not the cmpny ..).
@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 First a drastic change in clothes. Then you might be smoking Marijuana. And one say you wake up from a haze in an opium den, wondering how you got there. It has happened. Be wary. For myself, I found your full dress refreshing. Any schlub can throw on a turtleneck or a collar band shirt. Dressing with a tie and wearing a crisp shirt exuded professionalism and preparedness. Then you would go through your litany of praise and thorough listing of an interviewee's credentials and accomplishments, and I would think to myself... That Harvey should run for Prime Minister!
He looks and sounds so very much like his father.jack lemon will always be an icon.loved him.❤❤❤

Your positive feedback means the world to me. Thank you so much. Please spread the word about our show. We believe we deserve a much bigger audience. 🙏❤️
Lovely interview Thank you Harvey.
You are most welcome. Thank you so much for watching.
Great interview. I have seen Chris in stuff over the years but never fully appreciated his talent. I could only imagine what it would be like in the shadow of a legend like Jack Lemmon.
It couldn’t have been easy for him. Thank you so much for watching our show.
I'm just finding this interview. Really excellent. You're really top notch. I thought of Dick Cavett but you listen more and are less intrusive.
Thank you so much for your very kind feedback. I hope you’ll check out more of our great interviews and consider subscribing to our RUclips channel. 🙏❤️

@MsMarple thank you so very much for subscribing. I look forward to receiving your feedback about our other interviews with many legendary stars!
Harvey, I was thinking of my favorite interviewers and it would be you Harvey, the late Robert Osborne from TCM, and Rob Word.
Harvey, you are so good at your research, asking relevant questions and actually letting the guest talk. And your enthusiasm is top notch! Bravo! Five stars!

Andy I am deeply grateful and humbled by your very kind words of praise. I put my heart and soul into every single interview, hoping that my interviewing technique will resonate with people. Your support is so incredibly validating to me. Thank you from my heart to yours. ❤️
great interview!
Thank you so much!
Chris is as cute and engaging as ever. (I'm spending the whole afternoon with you, Harvey. I'm a binge watcher)
I am so grateful for my devoted and loyal binge watchers!! Thank you so much for your support of our show!!🙏❤️
Great candid interview, great that Chris has had a great life
Thank you so much for watching.
I loved the movies "Days of Wine and Roses". "Mass Appeal", and "The April Fools".
Me too
What an inspiring, but somewhat sad, interview with Chris Lemmon, Harvey. He was so honest and forthright. I loved how honest in describing his thoughts on ‘Blonde.’
I would’ve loved to have interviewed his dad too, if only to get his thoughts on some of his films and co-stars, including Walter Matthau, Sandy Dennis (‘The Out of Towners’) and Colleen Dewhurst (‘Tribute’).
(If you secure one, I am more than willing to help with questions to ask him…
Thank u for this interview . I am experiencing the loss of my Dad . His wife should have been friends with these toxic women
I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to her
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 why does your heart go out to her ? :-) My Dad’s second wife (my Mom passed away) sounds just like Chris Lemmons experience. Thank you Chris for sharing you gave great support to me . Just found this program. I subscribed and looking forward to more interviews.
Another GREAT interview. Why does Chris feel he is to blame for his parent’s divorce. What does he think he did?
Read his book. It’s too complicated to explain here
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I will definitely be doing that! I have spent the whole week-end with you and your interviews. You do such FABULOUS, CARING interviews. The depth and emotions and insights are PRICELESS.
I was really never a JL fan but I do listen to the other interviews on this platform.
I’m very grateful for your support of our show. Thank you so much for watching the interviews that interest you. 🙏❤️
Such a beautiful message to share with the world. Thank you so very much.

Not a carbon copy in looks, voice kind of familiar but mannerisms are so similar, another great interview Harvey 👍
Thank you so much. This interview resonated with me deeply on an emotional level
Amazing interview
So surprised that his father left him out of his will or the children
He looks and acts his dad
Bless his heart going thru that lung transplant
Hey Harvey you look so
handsome
Thank you so very much. Yes Chris looks like his Dad and sometimes sounds like him, but he’s a MILLION TIMES better father than his father ever was. Sorry but I just had to say it.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I agree ,
Hello Harvey! Yeah!🎉
@janiceskidmore9203 what a beautiful comment Janice. Thank you so much!
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I agree with Janice
Harvey , you choose all the right people on your show
No poor me, no anti what is going on in this world
I stand with Israel, I said it
I grew so great with parents ,
We had friends and family of color. Race and gay
I brought my children the same way
We live in a not so nice world
I live Texas from Massachusetts
Our governor would not tolerate what is going on in colleges everywhere
Thank you choosing the best people
Your the best
When I listen I don't care who calls me lol I am glued to the TV lol
Happy Wed, enjoy
I definitely see Jack in Chris❤....
Yes that’s for sure
Enjoyed this interview, Harvey.
I would love to see you interview one of Bert Lahr (lion from Wizard of Oz) kids.
His son, John Lahr, is a notable biographer.
He wrote a biography book on his father.
What do you think?
That would be wonderful. Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll work on it.
Read his book. His Dad wasn’t alk that great.
@ Oh my! I’ll be reading this book. Thank you for another wonderful interview.
Chris Lemmon had his Fathers Smile. And certain expressions on his face were his dads.
So true!
He looks just like his Dad !
Yes! And he can make himself talk like his Dad too!!
Nice change of wardrobe Harvey, keep it up 😅
Thank you so much. I finally succumbed to the pressure from my management team to “modernize” my onscreen look!😱
I’m so sorry for what you’ve been through. Thanks for watching our show.
So much like his Father.
That’s for sure!

Thanks for watching our show
Magic time!
Yes indeed. Every episode of our show is “magic time”! Thanks for watching!❤️
harvey love your outfit, you looked more relaxed.
Chris Lemmon had two lung transplants and is lucky to be with us
The world is lucky to have Chris with us. This is a very emotional interview. We talk about much of what you’ve mentioned in your comment.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 thank you for defending Joan Crawford there’s hasn’t been a more maligned woman in human history
You are very welcome. I absolutely adore her movies.
Thanks for your comments. I was unaware of these details.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 I hope Chris, his stepmother and her conservator can come to peace before it's too late. I found some footage of Felicia from last year shot by a friend of hers and her condition is heartbreaking.
Dead ringer for his dad in looks, voice and mannerisms
So true. It was actually eerie at some points!
Days of wine & Toses deserves a mention.
It was mentioned in my intro
Looks just like his Papa
Still watching our show despite those intros you find to be too long? Hmmm….. maybe we’ve won you over? Or maybe you’ve figured out that Harvey is the best interviewer on the planet???
So handsome
He sure is. And as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside.
I didn’t know that. Thank you so much for sharing
It’s so tragic that Jack became sober and his second wife didn’t until after he died. Ironically, it’s akin to “The Days of Wine and Roses.” Jack and Lee Remick were masterful.
Yes I agree.
I can see his father in him.
Yes I think everyone does. Did you enjoy the interview?
I enjoyed that show DUET. Didn’t last too long on TV, though.
I enjoyed it too
You forgot the movie: THE GREAT RACE
I didn’t forget it. But I had to be selective in the movies I chose to mention
😅All I got was : Coulda, Shoulda , Woulda *?
Oh dear. I was so hoping you would get so much more out of this interview
Joan Crawford died the same year as Freddy Prinze Groucho Marx Elvis Presley and Peter finch
We lost a lot of big celebs that year.
Thanks so much for watching our show. I appreciate your thoughtful comments.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 LIKEWISE. Nice to approach the bench ...in this case - Jack or Walter would quip ...(news to me).
This interview is so much deeper than a discussion of Jack Lemmon’s movies.
Distressed denim jacket? No tie. Psychedelic shirt? Harvey, have you gone Hollywood?
Yup. By popular demand. I got tired of being criticized for looking “too corporate”.
Just remember to not allow peer pressure to lead you down the wrong path...
Are you saying that modernizing my wardrobe is the wrong path?
Chris is a clone of his father.
Yup. No DNA test needed here!!! He’s definitely his father’s son!
Some Like It Hot is not the greatest comedy of all times. Are You kidding me?
According to the AFI it most certainly is. But of course not everyone agrees.
Harvey Brownston is the real latin male
Sorry but I’m not Latin. I’m French.
