About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Tina Sinatra, is a member of Hollywood royalty. She’s the youngest child of the most beloved vocalist and entertainer of all time - Frank Sinatra.
As an actress, she appeared in a number of TV shows including “Romeo and Julia ‘70”, “It Takes a Thief”, “Adam-12”, “Mannix” and “Fantasy Island”. But she has devoted most of her life and career to managing, advancing and honouring the spectacular legacy and body of work of her father’s monumental career.
She was the executive producer of the fabulous, star-studded TV Special “Sinatra 75: The Best is Yet to Come”, celebrating her father’s 75th birthday. She also executive produced the highly acclaimed miniseries, “Sinatra” which was nominated for 9 Emmy awards and won 2, in addition to winning a Golden Globe Award for best television miniseries. And she served as executive producer on the TV movie “Young at Heart” and was a producer of the 2004 remake of the movie “The Manchurian Candidate”.
In addition, our guest has been instrumental in a number of initiatives and projects which have kept Frank Sinatra’s historic contribution to pop culture relevant and current, such as establishing the Frank Sinatra Hall at the USC Campus, arranging for her father’s film, TV and audiotape collection to be donated to the UCLA archives, and orchestrating a terrific Grammy museum exhibit called “Sinatra: An American Icon”, which toured across America.
She’s been involved in bringing us wonderful multimedia concert productions at Radio City Music Hall and the London Palladium, as well as the Twyla Tharp dance extravaganza “Come Fly Away”, which had hugely successful runs on Broadway and in Las Vegas. In her role as senior Board member of Frank Sinatra Enterprises, which manages the licensing and usage of her father’s name, likeness, recordings and films, she’s been a tremendous support in the creation of the Emmy-nominated, 2-part HBO documentary “Sinatra: All or Nothing at All”.
She was instrumental in the launch of the immensely popular Siriusly Sinatra channel, which is channel 70 on SiriusXM, as well as the iconic Sinatra Bar and Lounge in Nashville, AND the exciting new show, “Sinatra: The Musical”, which made its world premiere last year in England.
And if all of that weren’t enough, she wrote a highly compelling, insightful and poignant New York Times Bestselling book entitled, “My Father’s Daughter: A Memoir”, which was revised in 2015 to commemorate Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday.

Wow Tina Sinatra, I imagine that you would be a third generation Italian American, but I love how several times during your interview, you refer to the Italian side of your dad, the Italian nature in him that kept the family close etc. it appears that you're proud of your Italian heritage and for that, from one Italian to another, thank you.

Fabulous, thank you! I was fortunate to see Frank Sinatra perform live near the end of his touring days. Don Rickels opened for him and Frank Junior conducted the orchestra. I took my mother and we were both enamored. I read Tina's book when it was originally published and have tried to watch her online whenever interviews are available (sadly, not many). I appreciate her honesty and style. I retired to Palm Springs 4 years ago and Frank's Sinatra's presence is still felt here. The local radio station even has Sundays with Sinatra 3-5 PM. My first year here I watched 'Sinatra in Palm Springs'. A wonderful 2018 documentary that they periodically play in the main movie theater here. Very moving and memorable. If you haven't watched it, you should because I think you will appreciate it. It may be on Amazon Prime, and it is also free to stream on Tubi and Pluto TV. Love his legacy. When the musical debuts, enjoy it on the arm of Tina, with tie!

I worked with a guy who was in the Army during the Korean War and was assigned to guard Sinatra and Ava Gardner while they were on tour. He overheard them get into a fight and he could not believe the foul language Gardner used to curse Frank. I remember him saying, "Boy she had a mouth on her."
I suspect Ava used that “foul” mouth most effectively in more ways than one, if you catch my drift. Frank was mesmerized by her for a reason…😜

Thank you for that. Actually, the question I would love to be able to ask is about Frank Sinatra’s ears. He had punctured eardrums. As a hearing impaired person who loves to sing, I can’t do it professionally because my hearing makes me inconsistent.
I’ve always wondered how Sinatra was able to hear the music so well with moderate hearing loss due to a perforated eardrum, which in those years was not treatable.

What did you think of the interview?
Frank gave Tina control over his name...and its easy to see why....she also looks great for 75 but then her mom who she resembles lived to 101.....

Interesting character. Sat beside her once and she was one frosty and agitated lady. But in her comfort zone, I'm sure she's warm and generous. It couldn't have been easy being Frank Sinatra's daughter.
I can see that she has a frosty side. But I must tell you that I found her warm and very kind during this interview. There was an intimacy about the way she opened up about her life that I really loved.
Still looking forward to Martin Scorsese's film with Leo DiCaprio playing Frank Sinatra, I really hope the script is satisfactory for everyone. It would be a shame if by misrepresenting the truth, such a movie would not be made. Until now I thought Tina and Nancy objected to certain uncomfortable truths about their father being told on screen. Now I see that it is just the truth, what they want to appear in it. Thanks for this, Harvey.
I hope you saw “Sinatra” the miniseries, which Tina executive produced. It did not sugarcoat Sinatra’s behaviour or character. Tina just wants the script to be truthful.

As a huge Frank Sinatra fan….really many performers are not great marriage and family material. The lifestyle alone is not conducive for a stable family life. Some have managed that but most fall short in the greatest gift they will achieve….their family.

She is. But this wasn’t Nancy. It’s her sister Tina.
I hope the picture does not get made by Leo and Marty . Leo can not pull it off and it will show he just does not have the Chemistry of Frank . Leo will do a replay of his portrayal of Howrd Hughes in the Aviator.. and people can see how that character reacted to an Ava Gardner.. I know Tina will have the conviction to do the right thing and stop it .
I was surprised that she didn’t come right out and say that Leo would be too old to play Frank during the Ava relationship.

Great interview loved Sinatra. I never ever liked Barbara Sinatra. I saw Frank Sinatra at Radio City Music Hall in the 1990s took my Sister I really only went for the nostalgic purposes. He was truly great. I loved his music and wanted one of my sister, also who loved his music, to get to see him live. He had Barbara Sinatra stand up, said all these great things about her. I remember thinking he reminds me of my brother. I ran home to tell my Mom who was from his generation, and I described to her how he talked about his wife and how it reminded me of ’My brother, also married a very controlling woman and there are reasons for that, but it was so similar, It was really eerie. Every time I saw Barbara Sinatra on television or him playing homage to her. It made me feel creepy. My brother‘s wife eventually was able to cut out of his life or push aside his three children who are grown now and pretty bitter. what I saw in Barbara Sinatra that night was amazing. My stomach had turned as he introduced her to the audience and had her stand. Many women who are possessive and controlling attach themselves to powerful man who lacked perhaps a loving mother figure. Who knows? some of these women are evil. I also love the interview with Gary Lewis interesting how similar Jerry Lewis and his background is to Frank. Dolly Sinatra allegedly adored Jerry.

I hate myself a little for finding Barbara Marx fascinating. She's non-dimentional in the way the character of Eve Harrington in the film is rather flat. But all the elements which came together in a petri dish for that kind of evil to thrive and prosper is mesmerizing. Too bad Marx was not merely a fictional creation. May that pinched face lift of hers tighten to a kind of crucifixion forevermore.

Frank Sinatra's first wife the door mat....was a dumb pushover to put up with Frank Sinatra's bullshit.
Now, now, that’s a bit harsh. She loved him deeply and believed in marriage lasting forever. I truly feel terribly bad for her. Frank broke her heart. And Ava wasn’t worth ending his marriage, no matter how sexy she was.
