    when you see your clowns with eggs the first time in your display tank and get excited your going to have a bunch of clowns! Then you start researching, planning, preparing buying tanks, learning to harvest rotifers, phytoplankton, copepods, air pumps, just to get them through the first 10 days of life…. It’s a ton of effort and a hell of a learning process. Nice work I really appreciate what you do!

    Nice video, just quick question. How i move flover vase from parent tank so breed tank?

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  3 года назад +1

      That's the nice thing about it. The pot makes it very easy to move it. Take some water out of the tank you are moving it to and put it in a bucket. Move the pot into that bucket and then pour back in the water too. Both tanks should already
      have the same water parameters.

      @@fabiosclocco1204 Yes. You just stick it in the hole in the end of the pot.

      I'm debating if I should do the grow out tanks or the Reef Stew segment next. The Reef Stew is what the fry eat so it seems to fit in order though I filmed it next to last.

    One of our local reefers in Denmark found a small clownfish in his sump. He had a breeding pair in the display tank. So it CAN happen, that they can breed in a reef tank and the baby's can survive. It survived on pod's in the refugium.

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  7 лет назад

      That would be very much the exception rather than the rule. Cool, but people shouldn't expect that to happen.

    • @johanh8221
      @johanh8221 7 лет назад

      but it can happen. In the video he said that it can't be done :) I have a picture of the fish. anyway, nice video.

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  7 лет назад +1

      Don't mistake luck with intent. That's what the video is discussing. For people who WANT to raise clownfish to full size it does take effort and work.

    Can i feed the fry of my clownfish baby brine shrimp for the first food?? And how many days should i feed them after being hatch

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  4 года назад

      Not for very first food. They are too small. They need rotifers when they are first born. It takes a couple of weeks before they go to brine.

  • @Kala_0509

    Hi do we need to seperate the fish for pairing or we can put all them together?

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  3 года назад

      If you are breeding you want the breeding pair all by themselves. If you just want to see eggs laid but not hatch them you can keep a pair with other NON clownfish. Don't mix clowns, they fight.

    Hi love the tanks. how do you keep your tanks so clean. Are you cleaning the glass all the time or are you relying on a low light so green doesn't build up on the glass ??? I see there is no green build up on the bottom of the tanks as will ?
    Thanks
    Ju

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  7 лет назад +1

      It's a matter of frequent and large water changes. Light doesn't cause algae, nutrients do. Keep those down and things go well. That's about it.

    put a sieve inside the tank then drain from within the sieve. zero risk of sucking out fish! it blows my mind some people cant evolve.

    Why are there so many airtubes inside the new larvae tank? Everything I've read says to keep the air bubbles to a minimum at first, It obviously works for him, I'm just wondering.

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  8 лет назад

      I've not read to keep them at a minimum so I really can't address the pros and cons. But, like you said, it works for him.

    What kinds of nutrients that make green algae or others. Do you use protein skimmer to remove excess of nutrient too? Or just large water change?
    Large water change make parameter swing, is it okay?

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  7 лет назад +1

      Nitrates and phosphates are the nutrients that algae use most. They also consume ammonia but this will be present in much smaller amounts since the bacteria are consuming them. Live rock and a protein skimmer are great ways to remove nutrients. I also grow algae in my sump to compete with the other algae. Low numbers of fish, careful feeding, and water changes, however, are the very best way to keep nutrients low. No matter what you do you will have algae to some degree. That's okay, it's actually very healthy for a tank to have some algae.

      +jaycal75 I don't think so. We were pretty focused on each individual step in the process. That I think I forgot to take a little video of all of it. There might be some kind of longshots that you see as you watch but nothing really intentional.

    could you set up a drip system for you water changes?

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  8 лет назад

      Bob is very much into being in control and logging everything. So while a person could use a different system it's often preferable in terms of monitoring and control (less can go wrong) to just to regular scheduled water changes. There are systems, like the genesis system that does it for you but they cost a lot of money and aren't practical for large scale operations.

    Don't the larvae get sucked into the filter?

    • @Azfishkeeping
      @Azfishkeeping  7 лет назад +1

      That's a great question! It's a sponge filter so it doesn't suck water through it in the same way other filters do. They work really well for situations like this one and are designed so there's no harm to the larvae or fry.
