In this video I show you why your Dewalt lithium ion battery won't charge and even when it's on the charger no lights blink, it makes you at first think that your charger is bad but it's 1 or more 18650 batteries cells inside your Dewalt battery pack, I also show you the kind of 18650 cells are inside the Dewalt battery packs. If your a DIY'er than you can fix it or sell to recoup some costs on buying a new pack listed above. I hope the video helps you:) Thank you for your time.

Does Dewalt use battery PCB kill signal like Makitas to render the battery unusable if it's no longer good, even if you replace the bad cells ? for Makitas, if after 3 failed charge attempts the circuit get bricked.
thank you for the video
in mine case are the same batteries, like yours , only 1 is low,
HOW DO YOU REFURFISH, you never show that .
ONE MORE thing can give a 12 v 1amp charger and hook with cooper to JUMP slow charging the bateria, ANY HELP OR IDEA , PLEASE
My battery shows no signal on the fuel gauge, on the charger is a solid red light but won't charge. My other batteries charge well on the same charger
Thanks worked like a charm!!
thank you for posting this
All the tricks don't work for mine. Because it was not a battery issue.
Turns out that these packs have a "fusible link" inside. Mine burned in two. Apparently, it got very hot and melted the inside plastic as well! Can't find any video to show this. Looking for a replacement has turned up nothing.
Whata the cell volt type?
Que a ser si el cargador si enciende pero no carga cuando insertas el cargador?
I have that shirt!
Thanks for the video.
with newer or old batterys that been sitting a while need a 8 hour or a 24 hour charge. and then try mulimeter.
Next time you make a video show the people what all you do. For example when you used the multimeter to check the voltage in the cells you should tell them what to set the multimeter to in order to check the cells correctly. I mean bc not everyone that is watching the video knows how to use the tools required in order to replace the cells. Thanks also other than that the video was helpful.
Changed the charger and it charges, is it battery problem?
I have 3 charges amd sometimes the charger has a fuse in it and it will burn out and there for not always the battery
Ok so figure me this one out… I thought this was the issue but… when I take the top cover off of the battery it will charge…. But when I put it back on it shows nothing… I have tested connections and case fit-meant and can find no reason..
I have the same battery but all the cells are good. But it says it’s charged and I put it in a drill and have to play with the trigger for it to go. With all tools.
how do you get the batteries loose from being soldered on?
there spot welded not soldered
Hi mine is new is it normal mine gets so hot only charge for 20 minutes
What about a solid red light on charger ?
Mine is doing the same. Just got it out of the box and the battery shows one bar but the charger indicates fully charged by having the solid red dot. Did you ever find out what is wrong?
Try this, it works in most cases. ruclips.net/video/uCKdSrm-2A8/видео.html
@Woodworking 3.0 after I posted my question I saw another video that shows that you have to really force the battery into the charger until it clicks in. It felt like I was going to break something that’s how hard you have to push on it. Once it snapped in, it began to flash like it’s charging and then when it’s full it does turn solid red.
For anyone still wondering about this the problem is the battery isn’t fully seated. You have to press the battery until it snaps in all the way and it feels like you are gonna break it before it is fully seated
@@MegaRtty hahaha yeah I read the instructions saying it needed to be fully seated and thought it was. I felt like if I pushed any harder it would break something but now that it’s snapped in and out a few times it’s easy to do. Glad you got it working brother!
Why take us up the very point at which you remove the batteries, then charge or replace, then reinstall? Lots of information, no guidance.
No BMS?
Mine has a little computer board right where the charging clips are that turned green and corroded and stopped working.
Yeah, we have to pay extra for all those fancy things that don't work. Man I'm getting tired of it.
What about when all the cells are over 3.3 volts and the charger says it's full but the net voltage of the entire pack is only 18 volts and the tools dont work either
Exactly my problem !!
Mine ended up having a dead cell or two. Must have over heated. When a cell over heats it can release gasses causing a little tab under the button contact to push up and eliminate connection to the external circuit. They will read 0V. Btw this by design to prevent use of the overheated cell. I had to take my pack apart and push the tab back down on the "dead" cells and now they seem to work. I ended up replac8ng the "dead" cells with new cells before I discovered this so I haven't really used them since I fixed them. But I charged them and they are holding it fine
@@MendonMafia my cells are all good..3.7 volts...has to be the circuit board..pulled it out...unable to locate any faulty part..the battery was only used 3 times
My dewalt power supply got explode 😭😭how can I repair it
Had 2 brand new batteries and one only charges to 25% and one only charges to 50%. Whats going on?
And I jumped an older battery that won’t charge but has one bar and it went to two bars after jumping with a new battery.
What if the charger flashes 3 times and on the third time it dims
The battery was recently exposed to water about a week ago
That means your battery got wet. 😂
My charger shows no light when plugged in but my battery indicate one bar. Which of them is faulty n how can I fix this?
My exact scenario. Hoping someone answers. My plan is to find a known hood charger and try the batteries on that
2 minutes in to get even close the answer!!!
Watch the videos where they jump a bad battery with a good one, works like a charm without all this hassle.
Can you post the link! I'd appreciate it...thanks!

My red light stays on. Been on charger half the day, still red.
Mine as well! Any fix?
Yes same here. I go to use it to go right and its good but go on reverse and its dead
@@chxx010 I contacted dewalt and they said it was an issue with the charger since both my batterys did it. They sent me a newer charger free under warranty and now it works. Those chargers that say its fully charge when they are not, are defects.
@@DiamondScuff thats the weird thing. Its only happening with one out of my two batteries.
@@chxx010 its likely that one battery is donezo then.
Well what if I plug in a battery and it acts like it’s going to charge but then it blinks fast
I have same problem
I put a newer bigger battery in no problem
DeWalt starter kit….
Mine charges to 2 bars and says it's full on the charger
Exact same! Find any solution?
@@martinmchugh1924 no I just got mad and stuck to another battery and it broke both of them. I didn't care cause I was about to shoot it anyways
How do you know the problem isn't in the charger???
Most guys have more than one battery and when just one battery isn’t charging, it kind of narrows it down
Tradúzcanlo al español por favor
Very lacking ..
Still charging new cheap batteries but taking forever
Says trouble shooting. I didn't want to trouble shoot the dam thing. I want it to work and if it dosen't I want it to simply tell me if it's the battery or the charger. Too much to ask for in this day and age. Seems like the more it costs the more problems it has.
Hello Chris
Hello Jeanetta:) I hope your weekend is excellent:)
@@TipsNNTricks did you two used to get it on?
Is my charger fucked lol
