Diana Hutchinson : Sadly, i could not attend any of their live shows in the 1970's, because i was going to school at the time. So it wasn't until August 3rd, 1996, that i finally saw my very first LIVE KISS SHOW, and from there i had the privilege of seeing 5 other concerts, with the last being the MONSTER North American Tour in July' 2013.
Ace is in my TOP 6 greatest players in my book as far as having a soul and style that forever resonates with me. The other 4 are Clapton, Hendrix, Brian May, Jimmy Page, and Carlos Santana.
Replace Ace with Eddie VH and then you've got a list of greats. Respect your opinion but Ace is not elite. Shit, Tony Iomi, Randy Rhodes, Slash, Ritchie Blackmore, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and many others more talented and technically better than Ace.
I was lucky enough to see these guys on the ALIVE I tour at the civic center in phila, I was only 11 years old and i made my grand pop take me and a friend Cool thing was is he loved KISS himself after seeing them! LOL! he said and i quote " they are really going to be as big as the beatles" Guess he was right. :)
john matos ace really did turn Gene and Paul's silver into gold as far as the music. Ace's licks were extremely important, and his live solo's with the smoking guitar was one of the main highlights in a KISS show
not saying ace wasnt great...'' not at all....but pauls voice was great as well and peters drumming '' esp his early years'' before he started to party 2 much had alot to do with there sound....go check out the 1976 drum solo of his...awesome!! alot of jazz influence
Darrin Ros : If crybaby Ace would have still performed with the group today, KISS as we all know and love so well, would have been permanently finished.
I knew nothing about this band being that they were popular in a time of my life that I had Moved to SF, was a Big Dead Head just followed The Dead and other San Francisco based bands. A few years back, my Daughter was really in to them. I just knew that Simmons was the tongue guy married to the Playboy CF Shannon Tweed and then I saw an Ace Frehley guitar sell on Reality Show Pawn Stars Recently so I figured, let me see what they are all about. They are actually good musicians just don't get the Make-Up and the rest of their Shtick, but "Hey, it was part of the Era so it's All Good by me" I'll give them a bit more of a listen!! WTF, I am open minded enough!
KISS had to win me over too. They were around for a little bit when I was in high school. I thought they were ridiculous and you'd have to be an idiot to like them. Wacky make up. Big deal. Then... I'd hear one song I liked... then another... then another... holy shit! These guys are really good! I've been a fan ever since. (decades)
***** Hundreds of bands in the early 70s tried to pull the same glam/ makeup shit. I was there. Only one of them has stood the test of time. The music has always came first. Ok, maybe the marketing is more important now - but with the insane competition they faced in the early seventies, KISS was the only band that could consistantly produce a good show and catchy arena-worthy hard rock anthems. Everyone else fell by the wayside and are footnotes. KISS still records new albums that people actually buy.
It shows how good there music because all there old originals are actually better and could never mimicked. Where the newer songs really lost that KISS unique sound
highwaymaintainer : I was first exposed to the fantastic ''disease'' known as KISS FEVER, back in the summer of 1977, when i purchased my very first album, '' LOVE GUN '' at Sam The Record Man in downtown Montreal.
You know this group I never really took all that seriously even though I liked them. They looked like a bunch of clowns on stage in all that makeup. But they really were an awesome band!
Daniel Asamota : I did not became an official fan of the band, UNTIL the height of the '' LOVE GUN '' tour in 1977, and received my certified diploma from the KISS ARMY in 1996, just a few short months after viewing, my very first LIVE SHOW at Montreal's BELL CENTRE.
Daniel Asamota : To tell you the truth, i was not very interested in them at first, specially after viewing the horrific cover of their debut album '' KISS '74.'' Only after listening to '' STRUTTER '' for the very first time in the summer of 1976, did i slowly started to gain interest, in the 4 wild dudes from the rough and violent streets, of New York City. So exactly one year later, in the summer of 1977, i officially became a fully certified KISS freak, permanently for life, after which i picked up my very first album : the award-winning platinum-certified lp '' LOVE GUN ! ''
I can remember buying the 1st album brand new on 8-track for $1.99 & playing in thru my pioneer supertuner underdash mount with 6x9's in my old amc gremlin , man I miss the 1970's , somehow time Warner put a spin on the 60's making those years the infamous years but the 60's were tame compared to the entire 1970's , by 1980 disco died & came back then rock music & good concerts fell off the map , just say NO replaced chop me a line & the 70's were finished , I miss the music , the concerts , the partying , the cops letting you go free after you poured your beer & drugs on the ground , I miss all the denim clothes , I even miss pussy hair , now their all bald as a babies ass .
+Michael Ledford- Wait, I grew up in the 70's and 80's and it was mainly in the 80's I went to see all the bands. lmao In fact the first concert was Day on the Green in 1978.
Michael Ledford You had me up till the muff hair brother. Can't STAND having to stop n spit out hair when I'm goin south on the ladies. But I am THERE dude on the rest. That damn "Just say NO" campaign was a joke. I would say...just say no,its leaves more for me. mike lambert lmao I wasn't thinking of a muff like Jackie Kennedy had that was the size of her head lol Every time I see that pic of her naked on the beach ,standing there with a 12 inch wide muff I laugh my ass off ,I was thinking of a well groomed woman ,not the ones where pubes popped out of their bikini lol

Its far beyond the makeup dude, you totally missed the point! They may not be The Beatles nor Pink Floyd however, they have their talent to write, create and perform live....
I just a saw a surf vid on vimeo from the 1970's with the Love Them From KISS song playing, and it was very cool see and hear. Check it out, Dale Dobson surfing Big Rock. The thing about KISS and their music, is that's it's good, it's about a time, an era. And, of course, KISS are entertainers. Value judgement as to good or terrible,… but KISS was effective with it's music and image,… but even the music by itself, it worked, it engaged young people's musical minds.
Every song on KISS's debut, along with the next two records, are essential songs all fans need to absorb if their really KISS fans.
Pure , simple , American rock . My favorite KISS album ! 🤘
Kiss is a great band and was a great part of my childhood and still on top in my book
Chuck D Are you saying you didn't grow? If you had you'd be embarrassed !
Your book sucks
Loved them back in the day...love them now...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👊👊
I Love ❤️ the 1st KISS Album! It is a Masterpiece!! Every song on it is Excellent💋
George Doughly : Despite the horrific album cover, KISS' 74 is a fantastic,
awesome album that we fans thoroughly enjoy so much.
I've been to 6 of there concerts n I loved them all hoping to see the concert this year
Diana Hutchinson : Sadly, i could not attend any of their live shows in the 1970's, because i was going to school at the time. So it wasn't until

Lots of cool footage and pics I've never seen. Thanks for the upload.
rian settles : KISSOLOGY has the very same footage, also. Check out
volume one of the 2 disc, dvd set.
ACE! They really had the magic back in the day.
Rainy Day : AND THEY STILL DO, EXACTLY 45 YEARS LATER !!
George Vila magic is gone. No Ace, no kiss
This could be the first show I saw them, at my high school. Maine West in Des Plaines, Il. It was in "74" as well.
I miss that KISS.
Hugh Janus : Not me. I still dig, the current KISS line-up of Tommy
Thayer and Eric Singer.
Ace is in my TOP 6 greatest players in my book as far as having a soul and style that forever resonates with me. The other 4 are Clapton, Hendrix, Brian May, Jimmy Page, and Carlos Santana.
dude you are clueless idiot to compare talantless ACE to great guitarists you mentioned.
Its obvious you are not a musician!
Ruben Sahakian Ace is rough around the edges. Thats what I like about his style.
Ace is a hack, but he does one thing really well and that is his vibrato. There are few who came after him that did not copy it.
What about Eddie Van Halen?
I was lucky enough to see these guys on the ALIVE I tour at the civic center in phila,
I was only 11 years old and i made my grand pop take me and a friend
Cool thing was is he loved KISS himself after seeing them! LOL!
he said and i quote " they are really going to be as big as the beatles"
Guess he was right. :)
Guitarz5150 : KISS are still regarded as THE BEATLES OF AMERICA.
Guitarz 5150: Your grandpa was absolutely right. KISS IS 10 TIMES BIGGER THAN THE BEATLES, RIGHT NOW !
That’s the grandpa I wanna be. But it’s hard with today’s music.
Ummmm. No. Kiss is big. But nowhere near the status of the Beatles.
And still performing after all these years!
The pursuit of enjoying life continues.
As kids my brothers and I loved KISS.
Listen to this one and the heat goes up.
This is why Ace is the best in the band. If it were not for these early great licks they would be dog shit.
not true !! your totally offf
john matos ace really did turn Gene and Paul's silver into gold as far as the music. Ace's licks were extremely important, and his live solo's with the smoking guitar was one of the main highlights in a KISS show

+Darrin Ros Too bad he decided drinking was more important then KISS.
Darrin Ros : If crybaby Ace would have still performed with the group today, KISS as we all know and love so well, would have been permanently finished.
Все Красавчики Респект
Pete has such a great voice. He sang most of their biggest hits. Any one forget that?
Apparently you did. Peter didn't sing on most of their hits. That'd be paul and Gene. Peter sang on their biggest hit but not much after that
It was cool to see them before they hated each other !
AceT,I agree totally with your faves, you only missed Slash:)
fuckin' epic
The first time I listened to their music I thought immediately one thing: New York.....
Its Kisstory now.
winsor68: IT CERTAINLY IS.

rick lopez : My all time favourite KISS albums are '' LOVE GUN '' from 1977 and '' HOT IN THE SHADE, '' from 1989.
0:39 -- Starring Paul Stanley as Dev Patel in LION.
Mickey was always my favorite. Soooo dreamy.
Slake Thirsty : Who in the hell is Mickey ? There is NO Mickey in KISS.
Damn, I'm busted. I guess there's no putting anything past a sharp guy like you.
Slake Thirsty : Thanks for the compliment, dude. Deeply appreciate it.

Montreal's Bell Centre.
garcemac : There never has been, and there never will be a band here in this world, that can top KISS's EXPLOSIVE and HIGHLY-ENERGETIC STAGE ACT.

Jyshon Harris : Everybody loved sweet, adorable ERIC CARR. God rest his soul.

Eddie Gustin Eddie Gustin Do you mean in Firehouse? It's is not Pauls voice. I'm not sure if it's Paul in the video. He has less hair on he's chest than usual, but that can be the quality of the video.
It's supposed to be Humphrey Bogart since they were on Casablanca records.
Buy Pauls book and you shall learn what kiss is all about.
T Canning : You can also listen to the COMPLETE AUDIO BIOGRAPHY,
right here on RUclips.
Mike Douglas ATTACKS!
garcemac : Gene Simmons made his first ever national exposure, on the
legendary MIKE DOUGLAS TALK SHOW, back in April' 1974. Ironically, the tune that the dudes performed on the historic broadcast that day, eventually turned out to be FIREHOUSE, aired on April 29, 1974.
0:52 looks like a cross between Son of Sam & Andy Kaufman.
brainsareus : Young Gene Simmons, does not resemble any of the idiots
you just mentioned.
This is back when Gene only had been with 500 women.
Afterburner and half a dozen male midgets
And Paul with 500 dudes
Hoogla Boogla 🤣
AFTERBURNER 😜
Second iteration of the Fab 4??????
Sam Fosdick : THE BEATLES have always been regarded as THE FAB 4,
while KISS is proudly referred by their adoring fans as the FANTASTIC FOURSOME.
What was this song written about, who they are singing about ???? will never really no the truth
It's funny to me that as a 12 year old I was singing Nothing to Lose word for word along with the band.
As an adult listening again years later I realized it's totally about butt sex.
country rock..
MrMethadrine : HARD ROCK, RULES. COUNTRY, SUCKS.
You want ketchup with it?
I DON'T NEED KETCHUP. I HAVE PLENTY OF IT IN MY KITCHEN.
If this is Part 1...Where is the REST of it?????
kiss aint what they used to be,! but who is.?...
Timmy Washington : They are still regarded as the GREATEST HARD ROCK BAND, in the entire world.
What's the second song???
+michael lecompte love theme from kiss
What is the song @2:03?
Daniel Tittyfish : Like kiss freaq just told you, LOVE THEME FROM KISS which appears on the band's debut album, KISS ' 74.
Don't care I was there in the 70s the biggest band on the planet.
Ronald Norman : AND THEY STILL ARE, EXACTLY 45 YEARS LATER.
when kiss was kool
Roxanne Moser : They still are.
Im 53 Get the Fire Out!!!!
Laura L : NO WAY IN HELL, BABY. KISS SHOULD KEEP THE FIRE BURNING, ETERNALLY FOR EVER !!
Here’s your first KISS history lesson: the first album did not have Rock and Roll All Nite
I Kiss started their career without the make up and way over the top shows on stage in the 1970,s I don,t think they would have made it big. A lot of their songs were pretty good but obviously needed the make up and shows to hit the big leagues.
Kevin Rexrod : It was the legendary trademarked make up and flashy colourful costumes, which catapulted KISS straight into international SUPERSTAR status, back in the mid 1970's.

Congratulations '' BUGSY '' on your fantastic and brilliant remark.
Guys like you, deserve to be rewarded with a GOLD MEDAL !
D first band hu had influential of all,, without d kiss band ders s no metal music,, f der s a metal it shud not be popular without D's band
Lloyd Roque : I don't understand a word you just said.
So basically Gene always had ridiculous hair.
KISS had to dodge the racism card (makeup) and the rest is history. I was born 1963
Acck
Led Zeppelin
Um no this is KISS. but Led Zeppelin were the gods of rock.
Exar Kun Nice
Mr. Ramon Gene Simmons invented Led Zeppelin, just ask him.
Senor Ramon : LED ZEPPELIN only lasted 12 years, while KISS is still growing stronger and stronger after 45 glorious years.
Anyone over 8 years old who thinks this sounds good should try rock and roll music. You would really like that!
Kiss nada que ver ok
Not a talented band - but they had make up.
+Ink Black They had great songs.
A handful at best.
Glitter Grow up you uneducated tubby fool.
+Ink Black Not very Nice, Porky. Time to grow up?
A904 AC Fuck off silly.
worst rock band ever.Bunch of fking clowns! No musicality or skill in playing.
paint a fking face and become famous. Will give them that good marketing
You're right. They'll never be famous.
Also, they'll never make it 5 years.
How could they last? no musicality wow now I've heard it all.
Its far beyond the makeup dude, you totally missed the point! They may not be The Beatles nor Pink Floyd however, they have their talent to write, create and perform live....
