Awesome dude! I ordered a custom 1:6" twist 12.5" 338 ARC Barrel (8.6x33) which is the american version of this. We have 300gr copper & 307gr jacketted subs & 125gr copper supers 🎉
@AB1138 I read somewhere the twist of 1:8 is being used on .338 ARC is the usual for easier cycling between supers and subsonic. I'm guessing the 1:6 twist barrel was made by faxon they seem to be the ones making barrels with faster twist rate

I neither have a chronograph nor a decibel test, that is ratet for up to 160dB. Usual dB testers shut off at 120dB, even tho when they are allegedly rated for 130dB. And one that actually works for louder noises, is freakishly expansive

That striker has more travel than I have ever seen! Hm, I didn't realise the scope was offset. They don't seem to be so much offset on the SVD and I know they are not on the Mosin-Nagant/SKS snipers. Very interesting to see.

Did you check bullet speed before and after shortening? Just interested since the cartridge is tweaked to the short barrel how barrel length impacts it.
@@ScaarAT I have seen a video about 8.6 Blackout and the loads seem to be extremely barrel length sensitive with even a 18" barrel giving slower bullet speed over a 12" when the ammo is tweaked for 12". Don't know how much tweaking the russians have done though.
"Infamous"??? More like "famous", also the selector lever on the VSS is likely more to put a checkmark in a feature list than for anyone to actually use. I doubt anyone runs a VSS on full auto, or an AS VAL or any of the 9x39 rifles, except in extreme "oh shit!!!!" scenarios where you're unlikely to be fast enough with it anyway. You're less likely to eat lead yourself leaving it on semi and working your finger faster than fiddling with the selector. Same is true for pretty much every other select fire rifle too, none of them are more useful in full auto without enough triggertime to make it a moot point. It's a morale booster. Yes I have enough trigger time on full auto to have a fully formed opinion about it, and no I don't mean in videogames.

Any short barreled .300blk semiauto with a suppressor will get you similar results. I built a 10.5 .300blk & run a YHM R9 on it. With 220gr subs it’s hearing safe. Not as cool looking as his Vintorez though!

You can buy a new production serbian Dragonuv right now. They are $7500 though. Russian and Chinese Dragonuvs already in the country are 10k+.

The lot of Tula and Molot VSS and 9x39 ammo was imported to Austria before the sanctions. If I'm correct: even before the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the USA had harsh restrictions on Russian firearms, didn't it?

Absolutely. Some stores in Austria even promoted the rifle as "suppressed just like the Vintorez", before several people told and showed them, that it has baffles, but it not suppressed
It's not illegal to own magazines of any capacity, and it's explicitly allowed for sports in the law. Magazines aren't regulated parts of the gun either (only receiver, barrel and bolt are), so you don't even need a license to buy and own them, you can literally order AK 60 rounders or drum mags online.

They're insanely rare rifles and have a very high demand for the Russian gun enthusiasts like myself. Its no different than say a seekins sp10 over an original sig 556 classic gen 1 swiss. They'll say they're overpriced for the performance lol lol yet the same can be said for the sig 556 classic or the seekins sp10 over a much cheaper rifle like an AR10 areo or standard AR15.. theres no real debate over what someone is willing to spend and its not really anyone's business or concern either.

You're gonna have to settle with a Honey Badger from Q. 300blk 10 inch barrel pistol version. Then get a form 1 & 4. American gun laws are mega gay.

Absolutely. Some stores in Austria even promoted the rifle as "suppressed just like the Vintorez", before several people told and showed them, that it has baffles, but it not suppressed
in Russiait is illegal - to have more then 10 rounds mags....so if you have 20-30 round mag - you are a military man or......you are a thief !))))
It's not illegal to own magazines of any capacity, and it's explicitly allowed for sports in the law. Magazines aren't regulated parts of the gun either (only receiver, barrel and bolt are), so you don't even need a license to buy and own them, you can literally order AK 60 rounders or drum mags online.

@ I’d love to have one. But where I live is almost like north korea to own a gun. It’s quite ridiculous ,the hoops you have to jump trough, and the money you have to pay , compared to the salary. MF’s took it from the people.

They're insanely rare rifles and have a very high demand for the Russian gun enthusiasts like myself. Its no different than say a seekins sp10 over an original sig 556 classic gen 1 swiss. They'll say they're overpriced for the performance lol lol yet the same can be said for the sig 556 classic or the seekins sp10 over a much cheaper rifle like an AR10 areo or standard AR15.. theres no real debate over what someone is willing to spend and its not really anyone's business or concern either.
