Great music. Spoons and fiddle are fantastic. I wish I could hear the banjo and bass better. Also live the dog. He knows he’s clearly in the presence of great music. Finally, the guitar laying on its back makes me worry that someone will step on it. Anyway, I love this style of music. It gets you to tapping your feet and wanting to move.
OMG !!!!!! It just goes to show ya,, EXCELLENT TALENT like this is everywhere ,,, one just has to know where to look and recognize it.... PERFECT job ladies..... From Arkansas and I Loved it ... Thanks for sharing.....

Spoon Lady is the star here. The guy with the laptop was going behind her to get a shot of her hands. Compare her technique with any of the others you see and their action is usually between their palm and knee. Spoon Lady does that impressive fingers and thumb striking that the old timers used. It's all about showmanship, you know.
edd2ds I agree she is very good at the spoons and it takes a lot of skill to do the technique that the old-timers did it’s not easy to do it that way the other way you mentioned the more modern ways the easier way to do it

@Ken Taylor......That dog was, no doubt, raised in this country music and just lays there and enjoys every minute. This is a country music dog at its finest.
Have watched them in downtown Asheville many times. A bit of sourthern Appalachian charm reminiscent of our Scots-Irish heritage. Asheville is one cool place!! The spoon lady is wonderful!! Glad these tunes never die!!
In Ireland people also play with rib-bones. The dog should play the bones here - that would get everyone involved. Very enjoyable. Thank you / Go raibh maith agat.
I usually just grab a couple of kitchen spoons to mess around with. Abby is fantastic! I'm going to keep and eye out for a set like those. Great playing women!
Abby! I miss playing with you in Nashville! I'm so happy to see your face ALL over the internet! Those spoons are gonna feed you for life, sister. Much love.

It’s not as easy as it looks. I have played the spoons many times before my hands became crippled with arthritis. I wasn’t SS good as her though.
My family Elkins, and Smeltser came out of Greene County TN
She is absolutely phenomenal. If I could get my kids to return our spoons to the kitchen I just might try again.
Watching Abby FEEL the music, and pour all that beautiful energy into a marvelous dance with those spoons...just mesmerizing ❤❤❤
