I could listen to Barney all day....what a legend. He'd make a cat laugh!!...In fact, they're all legends, the likes of which will never be seen again. God rest Ronnie, Luke, Ciaran & Banjo Barney.
How I'd love very much to know the Dubliners before!!! They continue speccials and unforgetttable, rest in peace, Lovely Band!!! Love to all irish people. You are greats!!!😘👍💖🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Being from Howth, I had the pleasure of knowing Barney (well kind of) he was friends with my Da, The Royal Hotel they speak of was pulled down this year...absolute disgrace....The Abbey tavern still stands strong and still pulling some big acts
Barney sounds like my late grandpa. Not many people could understand him, but I could. We’re American and I always said he spoke “Hitchcock.” ...we are a family of hard drinkers. Maybe that’s what it was, I don’t know.
you'd be wrong, a band as good as these lads are is very hard to find, there isn't a band like them today, but if there was they'd be welcome to play anywhere.
@@patriciathewisher2315 did I? hmmm, so when you said Bonzo i'm assuming you mean Bono from U2, he doesn't even live in howth, he lives in Dalkey, hit up google maps, both places are no where near each other, the hotel closed in 2009, it had stopped being a great spot for music long before that. my point is IF we got a band as good as the dubliners they be welcome to play anywhere. i'm not trying to get at ya or give ya grief, i'm just correcting you, sure ya probably not even from ireland are ya ? i've never heard anyone call Bono Bonzo before, i guess you're not a fan.

The more Time passes the more I realise how special this group of lads was. Thank jaysus they we're lucky enough to meet.

I didn't know Barney Mckenna was dead; the final one of the founding members to die, apparently.

Bet these days no one plays in the Royal Hotel in Howth. Bonzo lives there. He’d probably object to riffraff being allowed to play out that way.
