I always found that when the charcoals turn all white they burn out fast and lose heat. I would cook when they were mostly white for max heat.
    Nice video. Thx.

+David Jennings Thank you !!! It was a little windy when we shot the video. I think that makes them burn a little faster too. It was fun and both roasts were great. Thanks for watching.

I think the results may vary depending on the wind. I have used the Coconut charcoal myself and it does burn hotter but have not seen it last four hours. I swap mine out in two hours. Thanks for posting, Al. They both looked good.

Thank you. The coconut charcoals did burn hotter but I think the wind had a factor in their life span. Both roast turned out great. It was fun. Thanks for watching and your comment !!!

I realize that you were testing but I like to stack my ovens to share the heat from the coals. I also use a round galvanized livestock feeding pan on the ground. it helps from starting the ground on fire and acts as a shallow wind break. It's about 12" diameter.

+Good Clean Fun Thanks for the tip on using the feeding pan for the ground. I'll have to get one. Thanks for watching.

I wonder if the coconut ones would enhance the flavor if you grilled with them?
Nice job on those tempting roasts!

I BBQ a ribeye and I couldn't taste a difference. They smell like regular charcoal when burning. Thanks for watching !!! Have a great day !!!

It is funny as hell, you spend time wearing clothes that are to look shitty, but your clean, pressed and have a cute bandanna. Thanks for the entertainment! W.W.
