I just cooked this pot roast recipe over fire in our 12" dutch oven and it turned out incredibly good! I used chuck roast. It cooked 3 hours and it fell apart! I used the Beef Traeger rub with molasses and chile pepper. No additional salt or pepper was needed. It required more briquettes than the amount Abom used, but it was windy and about 39 degrees at 8,879 ft elevation. Thank you for sharing this video Abom! It was excellent!!
That’s some good eats right there. Thanks for sharing with us Adam and Abby. That sunset was awesome too. Did you both manage to stay up and see the stars ? Fred.🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻✋🏻✋🏻
On the rock filled fence post ends on your last video. Their called gabions. 👈🤓👍 Same way our troops built their compound's in Afghanistan. I did the same thing for my wife she needed a raised planter's bed for her garden. I used 2" wire fence than put rocks around the inside and top soil in the middle as I built it up first thing this spring. It was so so much cheaper than building it all out off pressure treated lumber.
I’d imagine rocks are cheaper and easier to get our west than in our area of the south. I haven’t priced rocks myself but I’m sure it’s more costly in Florida 😅
Fork tender to a plastic fork is done enough. That steel fire ring seems an ideal wind break for your dutch oven cooking and has enough room for several ovens for a group or more complex meal.
Trying to get up the courage to try a campfire Dutch oven for the first time just with guidance from RUclips. Looks easy enough with great rewards. And I would really enjoy connecting to that old method of cooking. I personally prefer traditional pot roast over crockpot pot roast. It’s just tastier and has better texture.
You said that place was beautiful ???? You need to sign up for a Mars mission. That place is butt ugly . I hope you never come to Va. Or West Va. It might shock you as to what your idea of beautiful is. I've been to Tx. and Az. and both places are hideous. Hot or a little hotter every day . No thank you. Ugggh .
OMG That pot-roast looks so good
Delicious looking pot roast Adam! One of my favorite comfort foods! You two are having way to much fun ;)

Nice!
Looks good but I would love to smell the cooking odours Adam. Life looks good 👏👏👏👏🍺🍺🇬🇧
🇬🇧 wow what a place, staving now 🇬🇧
Looks good
You did it right brother
Two questions did you add chopped garlic on the pot roast and how often should you turn the lid?
I can't believe how little coals it took
Looks tasty!
Did you make that lid lifter?
unfortunately no I didn't. It's the Camp Chef brand.
@@AbomAdventures Ahh ok. Works good!
Abom how tall are you brother?
Great vid man, nothing like tender beef!
Looks delicious!!
I bet it was tasty but no cornbread ?
Not this time.
If you are looking, you are not cooking. Did you add beef broth or any other fluid during the cook?
Looks good but home-made gravy would've been better. : )
How about: Just Nice !
Cheers, Mark
