  • I run all kinds of loads (air conditioner, power tools, water kettle, etc) on the Jackery Explorer 1000 - trying to max out the watts. It ran great - no sign of strain under load. But how does it compare to a gas generator? Tradeoffs!!!

This was helpful. I like the no-nonsense style of video. Keep 'em coming!

Yeah I actually really was too - didn't show any reaction to the heavy loads whatsoever... obviously I cut out some of the "run time" for the sake of not being boring, but it really just did its thing, no different than if you plugged in some small 12v device or a phone, or pushed up to its limit. Seems legitimately solid. Now whether or not it is sufficient for any random person's use, is a different story. For use as a weekender/car camping type of thing, it seems like a no-brainer.

One thing I don't like about the Explorer 1000 is the slow charging at 200W max input.

Yeah looks like the other brands like Bluetti and EcoFlow have them beat right now for sure. On another video I did testing the dual solar panel input - it maxed it out at like 115 watts, even when an individual panel was doing over 90 watts on a single input :-(

Tried the USB-C PD and found out it maxes out at 18W only. Too low for a power station in this size.
