@@michaelfernando523 Cliff is huge in England, but the Cascades were pretty much a one hit wonder in the USA. How many hits did they have in the Philippines.
Yes Harvey in fact the Cascades visited the Philippines atleast three times, one in 1969 and two during the 2000's. There were three Major Radio Hits: 1. Rhythm of the Rain 2. Shy Girl and 3.Dreamin' or Dreaming which was a Johnny Burnette hit. I don't think there is a Fanbase these days but way back then, they had one. One Album (LP) became very popular - It was called " Rhythm of the rain " Released in 1963 by Valiant Records, a Warner Brothers Sub Label. The Original vocalist John Gummoe was replaced by Dave Lapano. The Cascades released (3) Albums and a few singles during their Music peak. One of my favorites which is a bit rare is a song titled " First Love never Dies ". The Tracks on the LP: 1. Shy Girl 2.Angel on my Shoulder 3. The Last Leaf 4. Let Me Be 5. Dreamin' 6. Lucky Guy 7. My First Day Alone 8. Punch and Judy 9.There's a Reason 10. Was I Dreaming 11. I Wanna be Your Lover 12. Rhythm of the rain. The Japanese CD version of the Long Player included a bonus track >>>>> "Second Chance" Cheerio!
@@michaelfernando523 Hey thanks for the update. Rhythm of the Rain was their hit in the USA. They are mainly considered one hit wonders over here so I'm glad to see they did well elsewhere. Angel On My Shoulder which is how I stumbled across the Cascades version. What is their connection to NIna? I assume she's a big act in the Phillipines.

I remember the Cascades from my youth 1960s.. very mellow and great harmony.. Rhythm of the rain was there big hit.. but every song was awesome..

I saw them live at a club in Palm Springs in the 70's. They covered a lot of disco music then too. Good musicians, and voices. And nice guys.

How did the Cascades end up in the Philippines? Was that a strong fanbase for them the way Japan is for The Ventures?
They were huge in the Philippines just like Cliff Richard is a biggie in Australia.

@@harvey1954 She was picked as a guest singer from the audience who handed a note to the group as a request, I Guess.
o was a dream to...
So where did they get Nina from ?
The song would be better if he was singing by himself
Nina isn’t familiar with the whole song- she spoiled the show.
