- 1) What is Life Design
If you want to be the artist creator of the life and work you really want, you have a practical and powerful tool to immediately develop a plan that will lead you to realize it: Life Design.
Life Design is an approach and a method for the creation of one's own “life project” and for the research and development of one's vocation, in accordance with one's nature, one's values and in harmony with the world around us.
Vocation, in fact, finds an effective synthesis between what we like to do, the lifestyle we would like to live, the environment and the people with whom we would like to collaborate and all the principles and values that we could not give up.
Modern society is constantly evolving, the different knowledge is intertwined with each other and more and more young people are looking for something that has a "meaning" for them. To plan your life you need to think like a designer, half artist and half engineer, and place at the center of your path what resonates most with our soul and our true talents but also observing well what can concretely be of help / benefit. to the others.
Life design is just the last step in a long journey that has seen traditional Design Thinking techniques applied to all areas of life.
Design Thinking is an industrial design system that is based on two fundamental principles: the centrality of the person (the user's needs) and creativity, the result of divergent thinking, the one linked to the right hemisphere of the brain, therefore free from patterns and logic.
The five phases of Life Design
Life Design, developed by Bill Burnett and David Evans of Stanford University, transposes this model to the personal and professional development of the person and is based on the following steps:
1) Empathization
2) Definition of the problem
3) Generation of new ideas
4) Prototyping
5) Testing
