As an entp I do t care what your opinion is, I only expect you to have one you can articulate is you’re going state yours.

@@PsychologyRefresh I did for a long time, but I would frame it as an educational debate more than an argument most of the time.
I will not spar on a topic I’ve not explored. As an ENTP we tend to quickly understand the core of any issue or topic quickly, but we also will then pick apart the entire thing and see how many ways it can be put back together.
This is what makes us great debaters. We often genuinely can see where someone is coming from because we’ve fledged out that angle. The argumentative aspect comes into play when we are with a personality type that is more emotional vs. logic based.
My personal growth with this comes from realizing that many personality types just don’t enjoy taking the time to think that much. The arrogance of ENTP’s is often what gets us in trouble.
I’ve had so many situations where I imposed my dominance of knowledge by way of brute assertion. My need to “win”, and winning I did, often embarrassed people. Like a lawyer we seek that singular moment where we can see the logic of our perspective sink in, or illogic of their angle become exposed to their own psyche.
I now no longer enjoy this unless ethics are involved. I now more gently approach people with alternative perspectives, and if they bite I then get a chance to display my understandings in a format that is non-combative.
I have started to also reserve relinquishing my personal stance on most topics and just simply enjoy “giving people something to think about” rather than imposing.
This has made me quite the counselor for many people, as well as the invited person of interest in many circles.
Getting off on dominating an argument we create is far less constructive than we convince ourselves.
An ENTP here in the Information Age should thrive if we but could learn to harness and capitalize on our genuine multitude of curiosities.

@@BBond88 Yeah idk about others, but most of the time people either really love me or despise me. As i am very "egoistic" by their standards and i like to be very sarcastic and make jokes about everything. A lot of the times people tend to think, that i am just jerk and want to roast me or make fun of me. Which they do often, but i do not take it seriously, so they then start to understand, that i am not in fact being mean. I am just getting bored so i am poking at people to get a reaction. I feel like ENTPs also tend to try to know everyone in their circle(whichever circle it is) sometimes i am labeled as very talkative and people think i am lazy, cuz of that, but that is not the case. I need to learn where other people comes from. I dont argue with people nowadays unless they are the type to argue and i know them well. As i do not want to hurt others with my cold rational thinking.

I don’t know how it is with other ENTPs but I usually group my thoughts into arguments (pro/contra/neutral). If i feel bored and know a person is sensitive to a certain topic, i choose a side (mostly contrairy of theirs) and start an argument even if i don´t agree with the side i choose.
Being able to look at a topic from all sorts of subjectif perspectifs make a lot of fun and using this knowledge for or against other people is even more fun. Though i sadly tend to think lower of people who don’t defend their side or don’t choose a side in a argument because to me it is a lack of intelligence eventhough it’s just a different personality type.

My favourite ppl are ones that smile when I throw a point that makes them question their logic.
We will go back and forth until we get to a conclusion that is usually hilariously callous…
There’s a lot of, “if we do x it will hurt y” and Than we’ll look at each other and say, “Ah… F**k em’”

But after a few months I felt my motivation lower. Felt tired, stressed, moody and sick of everything.
I talked with friends and they all said those were symptoms of a burn-out.
Which didn't make any sense because my job was really easy and I had a lof of freedom.
I talked to my doctor and she diagnosed me with the opposite. A boreout.
The lack of mental stimulation there actually made me sick.

I have been in the exact situation, I would beg my supervisor to give me more responsibility, because I would become bored of easy jobs. It frustrated me to no end when they didn't want to give me more responsibility, probably because I was and still am very young. When I didn't get more responsibility I got depressed and my effectiveness in the job decreased tremendously.
So, now I am studying to become an optometrist, and I just pray that I won't be bored of it too quickly, but judging from talking to professors, being in lectures and other more experienced optometrist, I am certain that I have done the right choice, as every persons eyes are different and everyone has unique challenges and problems with vision.

ENTPs are the best! I am an INFJ male and my ex was an ENTP. However, she broke up and then ghosted me for her career. Initially I was angry and heartbroken, but I later realized that True love is not always being together, but rather doing anything for the happiness of the person you love, even if it means separating from them. I didn't want to get in the way of her dreams and so I let her go. I still love her very much and I pray to God that she has a great life ahead. After she left, I was just waiting to fall in love with another ENTP or maybe an ENFP. But I never met anyone. It's been 4 years now, but I am still waiting for my soulmate, I hope I meet her soon. God how I wish there were more ENTPs in the world. You guys are so damn amazing and yet less than 3%, women even fewer....tough luck finding a soulmate.

I actually love small talk, because it makes people react in a particular way, it's just difficult for me to do. I have to treat small talk like another task or challenge I have, in order to push myself to do it. Authenticity is a thing I value, but your way of forcing small talk to happen can also be interpreted as your own authentic style of putting effort into it. It's incredibly true that I get frustrated with long tasks, especially those that make me start to question why I'm even doing them in the first place. I do love daily conversations, but I have like a limit or a time zone when I simply need to recharge, especially if the person that's calling me is someone I already talked to that day.

I love to use my non-dominant hand to do tasks, it’s so interesting to see how the brain and body tries to compensate while making new synapses. Or if there is a recipe I’ve made following the directions to the T the first time then seeing how close I can get without measuring or looking it up again and do it just from memory. I also tend to play devils advocate to observe how tightly someone holds on to an idea of something or how they view themselves. Like if someone seems to take themselves too seriously I’ll bring my inner child out to the max to poke the bear or if there doesn’t seem to be enough respect or serious tone I’ll bring out the stone face critic. It’s all a big experiment 🤗

Yes, but it's not necessarily just to experiment but because I generally believe there's ALWAYS room for improvement. Additionally, doing what everyone else does just doesn't sit well with me. Logically speaking, we're never going to improve as a species if everyone does what everyone does. One way or another, someone has to shake things up and I have no problem taking that role, even at the risk of making them worse (mistakes are the best teacher)

    2. Yep. It causes serious arguments.
    3. Sure thing. I cannot count how many people say “where do you come up with this stuff?!” Not in the sense of conspiracy theory or something critical but rather to praise some original joke or story.
    4. Just got accused of not caring about others tonight.
    5. I obsess over rules and laws to push limits. Not a good trait when employed by others. 😂
    6. I have limits as I have learned to avoid conflicts with people I do not respect or people I know I cannot change from their ways.
    7. Adhd or entp? Probably one and the same.
    8. This one I disagree with. I vet people who are worthy of debate. I do not feel uneasy unless it is just someone I do not like and that is not common.

    • @claralubatti5231

@@violet18 as an ENTP I can say that, personally, I am usually not attracted to introverts in general nor do I find them interesting but I do like Ni doms because they are mysterious, I take getting to know them as a challenge. Plus I definitely like their ability to understand the way I think and, not only respect it, but also appreciate it, while other introverts might get annoyed. I wouldn't say that the way I am attracted to Ni doms is exclusively romantic tho, I have an INTJ boyfriend and an INFJ sister and the reasons I appreciate them are more or less the same: they are not afraid to challenge me, they set clear boundaries, if they are not in the mood for a debate they state it clearly instead of dismissing me, they have deep knowledge about specific subjects and they are glad to share it with me, they teach me control and order and are never disrespectful. So in my experience Ni doms just help Ne doms to grow as individuals, which is often exactly what we want, while also picking our interest by being so mysterious. Anyway this is actually an interesting topic, I will bring this up with other Ne doms, I am curious to hear what they have to say, thank you. (English is not my first language so I hope I expressed myself clearly)
