Jess Ann do you mind if i ask you what kind of lump is yours?when the doctor do fnab to my boob,i saw the fluid is clear .but the resulte is suspicius carsinoma.please help..
Jess Ann thank you for replay me,yesterday i went to other doctor for second opinion ,and the doctor said it may FAM,do you think fam is also filled with fluid or it is mass is the tissue thank you very much !
Just had mine removed yesterday. I was under twilight anesthesia. So I was asleep for mine. But to add on to your story, yes it is a painless procedure and honestly after, i had very minimal pain as well. I preferred motrin over the icepacks though. And didn’t really need the pain meds i was prescribed. however for anyone about to under go this…fear not. It is fairly quick. No pain, minimal discomfort after and best part, peace of mind.
Great explanation. Just was told I needed a biopsy. This helped put my mind at ease. We all know how your mind can run away with this kind of information. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your experience miss.. I am sure that there are many people who are going through a similar medical illness and your video will aid a long way in removing a lot of fear from their heart and mind..
Thank you so much for your video! I had a biopsy done today, and watching this beforehand helped me lots... Here's my payforward :) Before surgery I was worried about going in alone, did not want to alarm my friends or family. My consulting surgeon had told me I'd come in on the morning and leave in two hours max, but I was worried about having someone drive my car. I was also worried about the aftermath : I'm not married, and (yeah 🙄, I know), wondered about having to explain my scar in future Wasn't necessary! The surgeon had me come in at 10, I had my vitals checked, I got changed and got into the suite. It wasnt cold like proverbial theatre suites are (I was afraid I'd be quaking from the cold right through the biopsy), and I was quite comfortable. The anaesthetist chatted with me , as did my surgeon right through. I was a bit apprehensive of getting the first needle prick to numb the pain, but it didn't hurt ... Felt more like a sting, and afterwards didn't feel anything, though I did hear the sounds as they worked. I got a lovely c shaped incision, very short, right under my nipple, just wide enough to take out 3 lumps (one of them is calcified, which is why I'm having the biopsy). It actually kinda looked liked a smiley :) I'm quite pleased because it will pretty much look alright, I guess.. won't be too different from my areola. I was able to flex my hand and fingers all through, and yes, I drove away afterwards, not even a tad dizzy... This is about 3hrs later, I haven't had any analgesics, but I plan to get some right after lunch. I've had ulcers before, so Ibuprofen isn't top on my list, I'll be having antiinflammatory Diclofenac/misoprostol once a day, and Tylenol tabs in the morning and evening. Altogether I'm so relieved I've finally got this over with... Been nursing my lumps for about 8years... Seeing the recent changes with calcification on an ultrasound of the breasts kicked me into full gear action.. (I've got no lumps under my arms though). I've tendered my breast tissue sample for a histology test... Fingers crossed, it's benign :) Love and light, Thank you for -your- video! 💟
After you got the mass remove by your nipple how does your nipple look ? Does it seem inverted/flat do you have a lump where they did the removal of the mass ? Sorry for all the questions I’m just concerned I just had a lumpectomy like a month ago .
I just found out yesterday, they found a mass in my breast. I'm really terrified. I'm going to get a ultrasound, to find out what it is. My auntie died of breast cancer so I did the 3D imagining. I'm glad you shared your story.. it help a lot to know what the next stage are. I'm glad your ok.❤👍
im having my 2nd surgery this year, over half of my areola will be a big scar now since they cant cut in same place. i am having a lumpectomy and hes removing ducts again as well, i will be completely asleep like i was the first time. for others having this surgery sleep with a pillow and ice the first couple of weeks. god bless you all..
Thank you Jess Ann for sharing your video to us. Thumbs up! To your video. I had a biopsy done 2 days ago and I do not know the results yet. Very scary this waiting period. One of the scariest moments and anxious moments in my life. Fingers crossed it will turn out fine. I am praying hard.
My mom has just got dignosed with breast cancer . Im so sad i was am crying my heart out and if your mom has breast cancer then give a like and if you know someone who has breast cancer also give a like and in general give a like . For anyone who has cancer then im so sorry and i feel so bad for you.
I have a huge, larger than a golf ball sized lump in my left breast. Had ultrasound and mammogram yesterday. They also saw something in the right one, too. They said I’d for sure need a biopsy. Waiting now for that call. I’m terrified. So very scared. I have so much to live for. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am praying for good results and healing for you my friend 💖💖💖 fear is something I struggle with daily. I try to focus on hope, gratitude, and ways god has moved in my life to diminish my fears.
I hope you are doing great Milli. My mom has a lump on her right breast and the doc says its a golf ball sized too . We are going to meet the doctor tomorrow most probably for a biopsy which I am not sure. The doctor is going to decide that . I hope things go well with my mom too.
anup khandelwal I will be praying for your mom! Most lumps, from what I’ve been told are benign. My thoughts will be with y’all. Unfortunately mine was cancer. I have stage 2 ductal cancer and 2 1/2 weeks ago I had a double mastectomy. This is scary but it is something you can get through. I’m keeping your mom in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm only 17 and I'm getting a biopsy this week and I'm completely terrified. I'm terrified of needles. I've never had any surgery or things like this done, and I hope most of t is painless during the procedures.
I am very sorry that nurse gave you a bad experience... Gives us nurses a bad look I would have been very delicate of your concerns and needs and I am sure that most nurses would as well. This was extremely helpful as I will be getting a biopsy next week and you eased many of my concerns (: thank you
I just found this video while looking for other people’s experiences! I’m so glad I found this now! I’m currently awaiting an appointment date to get my fibroadenoma removed as well and will be awake during surgery and that was really freaking me out but I am glad to know that it doesn’t take too long! I had my biopsy done a few weeks ago so thankfully I know going into it that it is fibroadenoma! This video was really helpful! I appreciate all the tips!!!
Are there any UK ladies here who have had fibroadenoma removal surgery, and are willing to share their experiences? I might be facing that soon, and I'm pretty scared 😕 Oh and thank you for sharing your experience too Jess, really brave and appreciated! I'm just sure the UK process is a little different and much longer x
I’m having a few ducts removed in a week and although I’m nervous, because I’ve been at college and just haven’t been able to have them removed yet, I’m so excited for this to be over. My surgery sounds like it’ll be a little different - I actually have the incision done around my nipple and they go in through there, and I’m also going to be under - but it feels good to hear someone else’s experience. Thank you for sharing. :)
Hi Jess Ann, I have a surgery scheduled for tomorrow Jan 6th and your video is really helpful. I did the biopsy and now the surgery. I am sure all will go well for me.
Thank you for telling your story, you did it very well. I'm going through a similar thing with a recurring breast cyst, in the UK during Covid. I also had a similar negative experience with an unhelpful opinion from a health care professional but like you I pushed ahead anyway, as I knew it wasn't normal for me, but everyone else throughout the process was great. I hope you are doing well now. Thanks again for telling your story, its not an easy thing to do, it's been helpful to me to watch, and to get an insight into someone else's journey to know what sort of things to expect.
Thank you for leaving this comment 💖 I hope your surgery goes well and you have a smooth and easy recovery. I am doing well post surgery. I’m so happy to hear you have some positive interactions despite that other one!
Thanks for sharing this. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 5th feb. I went in thinking it was a cyst because it is large and turned up very quickly. Fun times. My lumpectomy is the 10th March. Once again ty for sharing your experience. xx
Hi there. I go in for biopsy on a large grape size mass. They also noticed I had 1 swollen lymph node. And I am scheduled for a biopsy Tuesday. Did you have a swollen lymphnode?? Please and thank you
@@MissDills @MissDills I did have swollen nodes. They removed most of my nodes and they all came back clear. I definitely wasnt expecting that to be the case. Feel free to msg if u need to talk. Best wishes for Tuesday... you got this, Sis ! ❤❤
i am schedule for excision biopsy of right breast mass tomorrow, little bit scared for the procedure but i know everything will goes well..God bless my surgery, this video help me
Very helpful & informative...you have nice calm soothing voice... going in for a biopsy on Friday hope it’s nothing serious.Thank you for sharing your story💜
Thank you for this!!!! I’m going through this at the moment I have my appointment in a couple weeks. I found a lump around the same area as you and they tell me it’s probably benign.
hi, in 15 and I found my Fibroadenoma in march 2017 and I had a biopsy done and they put a metal clip into my left breast. everything was fine hurt for about a week. but after a couple months I I noticed it started to hurt a lot more. I ended up going to the hospital last week twice for my breast pain, all they could do was give me some medicine, which made me mad. I scheduled an appointment a day or two after the hospital, my doctor sent me over to the hospital the next day which was this surgeon who was gonna talk to me about surgery to get the mass removed. He said it would be only 47 minute surgery and stay an hour or two after the surgery. but he never said if he was putting me to sleep or I'd be awake. and my most fear about this surgery is the iv and if I have to be awake. I'm having my surgery this Thursday the 22nd, and I'm really nervous about it.
Gaby I'm sorry you had to go through that. My guess is that you won't be put to sleep, as most go through the surgery this way. An IV is only necessary if you do get put to sleep. When you are not put to sleep, you are given numbing medicine in the breast that works quickly. If it helps, close your eyes during the surgery, focus on your breath, and pray through it. I was really nervous going in too, but the nurse talked to me the whole time to keep me comfortable. Also, let them know if anything is bothering you. I pray that your surgery goes well. Blessings!
Thank you so very much. I am scheduled to have my surgery on this coming Monday. I was really afraid but after seeing your video, I am starting to feel better about it.
Hi Jess, thank you for sharing your stories with us. It was really helpful. What do you think of the lump that's been there for like 7 yrs.? Got it checked up got ultrasound and said that it was fibroadenoma (benign) but then after 6 months got ultrasound and it says in the paper that it was probably benign? What do you think is the right way to do?.. do biopsy first and have it removed later? I'm so inspired by your stories. I'm so glad you had it completely removed.
Hi Jess Ann, thank you for a very informative video! I'll have my breast lump remove next week. May I ask how was the recovery? How many weeks or months before you were able to do strenuous activities? My doctor was reassuring me that it'll heal fast (if no complications) and I can do my normal routine in weeks or a month. I have a surf trip in 2 months and hiking trip in 3 months after the surgery, which I'm pretty worried about.
Hi....My lump in the breast been biopsised 3 yrs ago.. The biopsy result is Prolifirative fribrocyst and its getting bigger now than before I think the size is already like a medium size of an egg.I am in the confusion wether to remove it or not . May i know if there is natural way known to you to make this shrink? Or it really neeeds a surgery to remove it? Thank you
Payal Agarwal I got surgery to remove them several months ago because the bulge was starting to show through clothing and became painful. It was my first ever surgery, but it went smoothly. However, I felt everything when I woke up and was in so much pain for about a day. No problems after I got them removed
great video. i find your explanation of each stage of your experience to be very concise, and even quite calming. i'm awaiting a call to schedule my biopsy on a irregularly/abnormally shaped nodule. the size is not of concern. it is very small. it's just the shape that is concerning. i'm older than you, and i have always had fibrocystic breasts, so i didn't find this odd-shaped nodule among all the other normally present lumps, myself. it was found by progressing through 2-D, then 3-D mammogram, then defined more precisely through ultrasound. i am hoping it's benign, but if it's not i know it is being discovered very early. i doubt i'd have a surgery to remove anything benign, mostly due to the fact that i have always had benign lumps in my breasts, but if the doctor recommends it, i will. peace. =)
you're welcome, and thank you. of course i hope all goes well, too. it just goes to show that a yearly (age and symptom appropriate) exam is important, no matter how many years you've preformed monthly self-exams or received image-assisted exams with normal results. whatever this is, it's not had more than 12 months to grow, and that is a super-good thing in cases like these.
Definitely. It can be hard to catch things unless they are being looked for. That's part of the reason I didn't like that my doctor didn't do a routine breast exam because other women found it intruding.
i can understand that. just like an ophthalmologist that didn't dilate my young son's eyes for exam, "because young children don't like having drops put in their eyes." all that got us was the wrong prescription. everyone needs to be thoroughly examined, and doctors should encourage people to understand this and at least attempt to perform complete exams.
They should at least always ask! My pediatrician would always do breast exams since I was a young teen so I find it silly the adult doctor that I switched to did not. It's good to be aware of what goes into an exam in case something accidentally gets skipped over.
Women get lumps for a variety of reasons. There’s always a chance that another one could pop up. I haven’t had another one since this video. When I went in, I had a core biopsy done first to tell what kind of lump it was, and then surgery to remove the lump. Afterwards, they did lab work to confirm it was a fibroadenoma.
Jess thank u for sharing its really helpful. Four days ago I find out I have mass in my breast and doctor said that they think is Fibroadenoma but I am going to have biopsy soon. I hope the test prove it that and nothing else. Since you removal how u doing? It’s something comes back? Plz reply and thank u again
hey Jess thank you so much for this video. I also have a lump and I'm scared to have it removed because of the basic fear of surgery and also I'm concerned about the way my breasts will look different in size and shape after the surgery. the lump is about 3 cm in diameter
Hi Jess Ann. My sister had her lump removed by ambulatory clinic and by local anesthesia. After surgery she just went home. That was 20-25 years ago. From what I hear from you, they put you in general anesthesia, and you were unaware of what was happening during surgery? And you have to stay in the hospital for 2.3 days?
No. They used local anesthesia and I was entirely awake and conscious during the surgery. The operation took under an hour and I went home directly after.
thanks for this video! I'm going to a gynecologist next week and I can feel a lump in my breast. I'm kind of worried. I've heard horror stories online. I just hope it isn't cancerous
***** They said it was glandular tissue via ultra sound but it was a sketchy visit. They told me to find my own lump so I'm not even sure if it was right. I'm going to get a 2nd opinion in a few weeks.
I just found out last 2 day i have my breast lumps it's still small the doctor advice me to monitor the lumps, 3-6 months before i will undergo to surgery!
Please Please pray for me im really scared. Tomorrow ill go to my ob gyne i told her about my lump its growing. I just had my period last June 26th and it still there no period now. Its getting big. and im really worried. I didnt know it grows big. The last time my ob gyne check it im still 26 she told me there is nothing to worry but now its getting big. im already 32..I dont want to die.
I've opted to not get my lump removed, from your experience what were the positives for you getting the lump removed, and why did you sway to this decision (I did get a biopsy to make sure it was a fibroadenoma)? I have been told by many doctors to leave it due to the fact it could grow back, and scarring. Thank you for sharing this video and your story :)
Also, the lump isn't painful or that big, so that's another reason why I didn't get it removed, but I still always wonder whether I've done the right thing. :)
So long as the lump is benign, I think it's absolutely ok to not get it removed. For me, I didn't personally like the feel of it in my breast and that it would change sizes from fairly small to as large as the size of a walnut. There's a chance that it could keep growing so I decided to get it removed. The choice felt natural to me even though I hadn't had any major surgery before. I think that it's normal for them to grow back but can be uncommon if you don't typically have breast lumps. The scarring is minimal and has faded a lot since January 2016. Go with what feels best for you, you can always have it removed later :)
Hi after my surgery i had a pain and want to doctor they said their is a small lump which the size is 1.6 × 0.6 cm and can be removed after 1 year I'm really scared wt will happen?
Thank u so much for this. I just found a 2 centimeter lump with a slight pucker underneath my left breast towards the middle of my chest. I have to go for the mammogram and tomor Todo digital ultrasound. Thank u again.
disgisexoxo size of a pea. Dr told me it is benign but it still had to come out. Did a biopsy first. Then I had surgery and they removed it totally. It’s not even on the breast . It was way under on top of ribs. Dr said these are very rare but if u leave it there they can turn cancerous so it had to be removed. I just found another tiny one in the same place but I’m just going to leave it alone. I think they overdo these benign lumps bc with me they always turn out to be cysts. For me it’s that I’m cyst prone so I’m not going to pay attention to these anymore. That’s just me. Do what u think is best FOR YOU.
hey! thanks for sharing your experience , your way of telling was very comforting. i am 19 and have a lump in my right breast. Today i consulted one doctor and she told me straight to get it removed by a surgery. Though, my parents wants to consult some other doctors too. so tomorrow i have been scheduled for this other doctor. but asking otherwise , can't i just leave it in there. is it harmful for future? and also if surgery will be the last option then isn't it dangerous when i will have a baby and all. i mean yeah i am thinking too far but still is it not dangerous with the stitches in future ?
Hi! The need for removal is dependent on the type of lump you have. The first step would be to get a biopsy (necessary before surgery) to know what type of lump it is. If the lump is benign, you most likely don't have to get it removed, but you can choose to. Leaving the lump in isn't typically harmful for the future, but lumps can continue to grow and shrink, or more lumps may appear. The stitches dissolve on their own and do not remain inside the breast. You can always choose to remove the lump later if you do not want to now. Regardless, it should be your choice based on what you are comfortable with :)
PALI GARG Please have it remove. I have this lump for so long and my doctor told me there is nothing to worry but now im so worried because its getting bigger and so uncomfortable. Tomorrow i will have it checked.
they say that even if it's benign, removal is advised if the tumor is getting bigger....even if it's not cancerous, it could become difficult to even know for sure the bigger it gets.
Thank you sharing your experience it really helps me decide what do with mine.. Can i ask like after the removal how long did it get for you to feel like you never had the surgery.. And can you function the same after a week from the surgery?
I believe it took around a week for recovery and by week 2 I was completely back to normal. I could function a week post surgery. I actually went back to college 2 days after the surgery. They squeezed me in so I could have the procedure done before starting my spring semester.
My mom has been facing the same lump since a longtime but not that lump disturbs a lil abd she could feel a little sensation on the nipple area.. Doctor has asked for biopsy but she scares. I hope even if she gets it, this is just a cyst or something normal and can get removed easily. 😐
A biopsy is a good way to tell what it is. It can be a little scary but if the doctor/nurse are comforting it helps. Sending prayers that all turns out well :)
This is such a helpful video and I'm truly glad I stumbled across it. I'm getting my biopsy in a week and then most likely getting it removed right after that because my doctor suspects that's the best thing to do. I'm just curious about one thing. I'm finishing grade 12 and missing school right now is not at all ideal. Do you think I'll still be able to attend my classes leading up to exams or do you think I'll need to be off for a couple days?
I'm glad the video helped :) You should only have to miss one day for the biopsy. There will be bruising but it most likely wont be as big of a recovery. Recovery after removal of the lump depends on each person, but for me I was able to go about my day with low activity the days after the procedure. I would take the day of the procedure off and perhaps the day after that. If you are only going to be sitting in the classroom that shouldn't be a problem.Though you should consider if you will have medicine/ice packs/etc with you throughout the day to ease any pain. Ask your doctor what they think, too. You should avoid any heavy activity like gym classes. If you are able to delay the procedure until after your exams that would be good, too. Changing the date by a week or two wont make a big impact on the lump. I can understand the time crunch, though. As last year I got mine removed just three days before heading back to college! A healthy recovery is key. You can always talk to your teachers about helping you catch up.
Jess Ann okay, sounds good. Thank you for your quick reply! I'm a little bit nervous because I'm currently living in Cuba and the procedures are a bit makeshift and then there's the language barrier. I'm hoping it goes as smoothly as yours haha. Thanks so much for your help!
I found a lump a few days ago. I’m around your age when you found yours, I’m about to get my period but I’m so worried. I’m making an appointment with my gp but I’m so scared.
I found a lump in my breast 6 months ago it only hurt when I’m 1 week away from my period and when I’m worrying about it😑it’s right under my breast I haven’t go to the doctors yet tho
I find that a doctor’s visit helps me feel at ease. I get anxious and always think the worst. Give them a call and they’ll get you in 💖 lumps arise for so many different reasons
I actually had to have emergence surgery it was supose to be Monday July 13 but they rused it to Friday July 9 the cysts on my breast got a bad infection the bacteria was eating away at my skin and flesh i left my appointment and had to go straight to surgical clinic the doctor said it was to bad I had to leave the clingy and go to the hospital I was going to surgery at 8 to 9 pm she left a open hole and packed it so it can drain the excess now it's July 12 i can feel that hole is closing im a fast healer the hole has closed a bunch since the 9th It's the 12 and its already itching like crazy and closing up
The. Bacteria ate so much of my skin and flesh it busted open and pus and blood was just leaking and the hole was getting bigger from the bacteria eating away my doctor is going to test that bacteria to see what it really is and kinda give me answers towards how the infecction got so deep in my breast tissue
Jess, thank you for sharing this video. My removal surgery is scheduled in about a week. Was your surgery recommended by your doctor or was it your decision to have the surgery? My doctor left the decision up to me. She noted since I am have a very small frame, I would have a small divot on my breast. If they gave you a choice would you have had the surgery?
Sheila Welch The choice was mine however the doctor in the breast care center did say that it could continue growing if left in. He also said if I removed it there's a chance it could come back. Overall I am very happy to have the lump out and would definitely do it again! Do what feels best for you. You can always get the surgery later, too. I waited a year for mine. Hope that helps :)
It took a full day before I felt any pain. After that I used an ice pack regularly to help with the discomfort. On a scale of 1-10, it was a 6 at the worst. I rested for a couple of days and then all was well after a full week.
Ann I have a question please. I realized I have a lump in my left breast, it's one year know but the lump doesn't change in size and no pain. AM 18Years old.
can I ask about the way the nipple looks after? I have a cyst in my breast which made my nipple look different, so if I get it removed will it make it look better and more similar to my other nipple again?
hello I just want to ask i have a lump on may left side of may breast i went to check up i under go with biopsy and ultra sound after no result at all until now still move and sometimes Its itching
I'm scared I don't know what to do I feel like I have the same thing, I got my period but it still hurts. When it was gone. It hurts when I squeeze them there very sensitive my sister bumped into me. And I wanted to cry from the pain of my breast. Please let me know if you felt pain in your breast. Thank you.
breast mass excision was the procedure done to my mom. Is it okay to have bruising after the operation? How long do they stay? She has a 2 tubes stitched near where the breast is rrmoved to remove the blood clot
Came across your video and it was so helpful. This is the first video I’ve seen where someone explains everything. Every video is the operation. I have fibrotic cyst and they are so painful I only get about a week relief when I get my period. I have a clotted off vein in my one breast so when my breast swell it makes the vein swell with and it is right up agains my biggest cyst. I want to have them removed and the vein but they’d have to put me under cause the vein is superficial but it’s still next to veins that are highly important. I have a fear of being out under so maybe I’ll keep vein cause maybe it won’t hurt as much if cysts are gone.
I really didn't take time off. I had surgery on a Friday and returned to school the following Monday. I used ibuprofen for pain, continued to use a cool compress, but was otherwise able to go about my day. It does get sore and painful from time to time. It would really depend on your job and how much you're using your arm/shoulder muscles that connect to your breasts.
I work a full 8hour schedule at a crazy busy job that has me on my feet attending to people all day long. My office is particularly busy, and I didn’t think I’d get time off, especially because the week I had scheduled surgery, turned out I needed to spearhead a seminar presentation for the entire organization. I finished with the seminar on Wednesday , but was too fazed with fatigue to ask my boss for the next day off (for the breast lump removal, you know). Surgery was scheduled for 10am Thursday , so I pulled in at the office , got some paperwork done, and asked my boss for a 2hr break to keep a Dr’s appointment. She didn’t mind, so I left at 9:30am. Surgery prep took about an hour, and another hour waiting for a theatre suite to free up... I eventually got in, and was done with taking out three lumps under an hour’thirty. I got to the hospital at 10am, was in theatre at about 11:55am, was all done at about 12:30mid-day. I was awake through the procedure (the surgeon gave a local anaesthetic to numb pain), and I was able to drive away -all by myself- ,after I’d turned in the excised breast tissue for a test. (I need to be sure there are no cancer type cells in those lumps). .... I gave myself a treat at a local restaurant afterwards! I was back at work the next day, cool as a cucumber , with no hint of a hospital visit 😊 I didn’t use a cold compress, but I did adjust my bra straps (soft padded bras, some underwire) to fit my chest and hold my breasts in, tighter than usual. I took the meds I was given. Altogether Ive been right as rain. Pain is almost non-existent You don’t have to take time off work per se... A few hours, at the most ..
I didn't know you didn't have to get anesthesia for this!!!! My situation is very similar and all my anxiety is based on being knocked out and tubes in my throat. I hope this is an option for me as well 😭
Most people are fully awake for this procedure (some choose not to be) and only local anesthesia is used to numb the breast area. There is no IV. I'm with you, I do not like needles or anything of the sort. The process went really well and the nurse made me feel very comfortable. I hope you have a good experience, too!
At the time of my surgery I was fully covered by insurance. Costs will vary by location. If you have insurance, you can call your insurance company and they can tell you what percentage they will cover. If you call the breast care center, they can tell you the cost of a biopsy, ultrasound, surgery, etc.
I’m actually not sure what process they used. I don’t recall a wire but I also didn’t look during the process or ask questions. Praying everything goes well and you have peace throughout the entire process 💖
Thanks Jen. No before the the actual lumpectomy they use a wore or an antenna now so when the surgery comes they can go in and find it. Either or should've been before hand. I will try. Thank you for giving me a good feeling. And know I have great staff cause my dad always comes there to that hospital. Hahaha Thank for your kind words.
@@simoneclark1820 all went well I actually weirdly heard them say it was benign while I was under not sure. I magically appeared in recovery, not groggy at all, came home worked no pain, didn't get it wet for like a few weeks which only because I was going to Mexico in Sept do didn't want the liquid bandage to come off. Absolutely no issues. Feel fine. Still a little tender there where the tissue is gone but nothing bad. Scar around nipple barely noticable. She did a great job. I think this Savi Scout is going to pave the way for women so they don't have to have mastectomies as much.
Thanks for responding ❤️so you said your feel tenderness from time to time I’ve been feeling pain also... I wanted to ask you this also where the mass was removed because mine was behind my nipple is your nipple some what deflated and when you touch that area where the mass was removed is it a lump right there due to scarring ? It’s been like a month 1/2 for me ...
Hi Jess Ann! Just had fibroadenoma removed last week. Did you notice any hardness or bump under the incision site a few weeks after the surgery? Is it just scar tissue? And how long did it subside? Thanks.
I couldn't say, but your breast care doctor would be able to tell you. My guess is, with a non-cancerous lump, it is safe to wait two months to remove it. Sometimes lumps do change sizes, both shrinking and getting bigger. This could even be based on your menstrual cycle.
Thanks so much for your video. This has been very helpful. I have my pre-surgery this Friday (inauguration day...and I live in the D.C. area #Traffic). My surgery is scheduled for Feb. 3rd. Can you tell me what the pre-surgery is for, if you did that? Also, any recommendations on a good sports bra?
The time I went in before surgery they told me the procedure and confirmed that I wanted to proceed. They had me fill out a patient information packet, took some general stats like weight and blood pressure, and then did a complete ultrasound to first see the lump and make sure there weren't any others. For a bra, I recommend one that is looser rather than tight as well as one that is comfortable (comfortable material and straps). You'll probably want to wear it overnight the first night.
The pre-surgery is when your doctor will discuss the whole process with you. This is helpful since you are well informed what will be done on the surgery day. My doctor made me fill in all the forms and leave it with him so there is no time lost. If you have any questions you can discuss it on the pre-surgery day. A good bra will help support the breast after the surgery. It is recommended no wired bras to be used but just a good tight fitting bra or even a good sport bra. God Luck and God Bless.
Hi i have a lump on my right breast and its pain i go to the doctor to make ultrasound and its only normal findings but its very pain im still woried right now, i ask you something when you found lump in your breast is it pain also? Thank you
Hi I have found a lump in my breast 7 months ago and it was 2cm and I just visited the doctor yesterday to see if the size changed and it has grown bigger to 3,5cm and they recommended me to do a biopsy but my family says I should get it removed (surgical biopsy) and I'm scared and don't khow what to do ?
I believe that at most places you need a biopsy before they will remove the lump. The biopsy tells the doctor what kind of lump it is. This way, they can find the safest way to remove it. Talk to your doctor about a biopsy and the procedure. It can be scary, but knowing the process can help ease some fear.
@@elliechasingsunrises my doctor also recommended for the whole mass to be removed because it will be easier to diagnose but I'm still scared as hell I've never done any surgery and lately she told me to visit another specialist to help me in my next step
I had never had a surgery like this before. It was intimidating and surreal at first. Nurses tend to have a way of easing one’s anxiety. The procedure itself wasn’t difficult for me to handle, it was more the thought of it that bothered me. When you go to a breast care center or specialist, they will give you more information. They are very knowledgeable, as they deal with lumps often.
@@elliechasingsunrises thank you for the information and also did they do general anesthesia or local ? Will I be awake when they cut it open ? And I'm also scared of the thought of surgery and having a scar 😤 but I hope everything goes well love this video and how you explain everything 💕
They used local anesthesia, and I couldn’t feel a thing. There was some minor pressure at times. For me, I closed my eyes and tried to think of other things. The scar that was left for me was small and faded a little. It’s something I don’t really notice anymore and my husband doesn’t notice it either. The anticipation about something is often more scary than the actual experience. You’ve got this!
I have a fibroadenoma the size of potato in my left boob. I'm only a 34B so its have the size of my boob. I've had it since I was like 12 I'm 16 now. I had a biopsy at 15 and they told me I didnt have to get surgery but. My new doctor recently told me that I should do i when I'm younger because the tissue will build up faster. Does it leave a big scar? also will your boob look flat and deformed? Please someone answer I'm scared
Hi there 💖 with fibroadenomas, they can continue to grow and sometimes even get slightly smaller. They are a benign mass, so it’s not absolutely necessary to remove them, but I think many choose to because they can grow. I still have a scar from the inch or so incision they made. It’s light and really doesn’t affect me. It’s just a part of who I am now and that’s a beautiful thing. My husband doesn’t notice it either. I’m not sure what size incision they will make to remove you mass, but that is something you can certainly ask. It shouldn’t change the original size and shape of your breast, it should only take away from the size that the mass added. This is another great question to ask your doctor. No question is silly. Sending prayers your way for comfort and peace. You’ve got this 💖
Is it painful? Because I don't feel a grape.. I feel pains in one spot.. And these pains sometimes gives me trouble breathes ( mostly when I'm stressed from exams )
Does it feel like a lump? I would tell your mom that you are feeling pain in your chest. It would be best to see a doctor since they are better informed than myself and could tell you what it possibly is.

Jess Ann do you mind if i ask you what kind of lump is yours?when the doctor do fnab to my boob,i saw the fluid is clear .but the resulte is suspicius carsinoma.please help..
The lump I had removed was a fibroadenoma.
Jess Ann thank you for replay me,yesterday i went to other doctor for second opinion ,and the doctor said it may FAM,do you think fam is also filled with fluid or it is mass is the tissue thank you very much !
What do you mean by fam? It would be best to ask a specialist from a breast care center your questions. They would be able to help further.
Jess Ann i mean fibroadenoma .:)
That is my hope for this video 💖
You really make it sound so simple.
Listening to you encourages many that can have a better life after the diagnosis.
Thank you so much for your video! I had a biopsy done today, and watching this beforehand helped me lots... Here's my payforward :)
Before surgery I was worried about going in alone, did not want to alarm my friends or family. My consulting surgeon had told me I'd come in on the morning and leave in two hours max, but I was worried about having someone drive my car. I was also worried about the aftermath : I'm not married, and (yeah 🙄, I know), wondered about having to explain my scar in future
Wasn't necessary!
Fingers crossed, it's benign :)
Love and light,
Thank you for -your- video! 💟
I’m glad your surgery went so well! Thank you for sharing your journey and how it went. Sending prayers to you for healing and news that it’s benign!
After you got the mass remove by your nipple how does your nipple look ? Does it seem inverted/flat do you have a lump where they did the removal of the mass ? Sorry for all the questions I’m just concerned I just had a lumpectomy like a month ago .
What was your results?
I just found out yesterday, they found a mass in my breast. I'm really terrified. I'm going to get a ultrasound, to find out what it is. My auntie died of breast cancer so I did the 3D imagining. I'm glad you shared your story.. it help a lot to know what the next stage are. I'm glad your ok.❤👍

I hope you find out that everything is ok soon! I will pray for you, too.
hopefully all went well! I am scheduling my apointment soon I am scared too!

Totally understandable. They may numb you prior to the biopsy. Praying you have a safe and pain-free experience. Blessings!
I am very sorry that nurse gave you a bad experience... Gives us nurses a bad look
I would have been very delicate of your concerns and needs and I am sure that most nurses would as well.
I’m glad my experience was helpful to you in the waiting process. Praying surgery goes well and recovery is quick. You’ve got this 💖
Are there any UK ladies here who have had fibroadenoma removal surgery, and are willing to share their experiences? I might be facing that soon, and I'm pretty scared 😕 Oh and thank you for sharing your experience too Jess, really brave and appreciated! I'm just sure the UK process is a little different and much longer x
Hi, I know you posted this 2 years ago but how did it go? I'm 16 and have to have the same removed, it's 5 cm and I'm really nervous
I'm glad my video helped. Praying for a safe surgery and easy recovery :)
Thanks dear. all went well. I am home recovering from pain and slight bleeding. Should be Okay after a couple of days.
Sandra Viegas I'm glad to hear it went well :)
Sandra Viegas Is your breast still the same?
Once again ty for sharing your experience. xx

Good luck at your biopsy 💖 sometimes the greatest fear is the unknown.
Blessings!
Hi m also going to have a surgery. M scared . Can u tell me exactly what happened during ur surgery.
Thank you so very much. I am scheduled to have my surgery on this coming Monday. I was really afraid but after seeing your video, I am starting to feel better about it.
Hi.. Did you feel better after the surgery ? Nd there's no pain after surgery been carried out
Can either of you tell me how your breast feels since you’ve had this procedure done
thank you so much this made me far less nervous
Hi there, I'm going tomorrow for my biopsy and this was really helpful for me.
I'm glad this video was helpful! I pray everything goes well :)
I felt a lump and the doctor said he found two Fibroadenomas and he said they’re bigger than normal and won’t shrink so I’m getting them removed
Thank you
Hi can u tell me about ur experience while surgery
Payal Agarwal I got surgery to remove them several months ago because the bulge was starting to show through clothing and became painful. It was my first ever surgery, but it went smoothly. However, I felt everything when I woke up and was in so much pain for about a day. No problems after I got them removed
great video. i find your explanation of each stage of your experience to be very concise, and even quite calming.
i'm awaiting a call to schedule my biopsy on a irregularly/abnormally shaped nodule. the size is not of concern. it is very small. it's just the shape that is concerning.
i'm older than you, and i have always had fibrocystic breasts, so i didn't find this odd-shaped nodule among all the other normally present lumps, myself. it was found by progressing through 2-D, then 3-D mammogram, then defined more precisely through ultrasound. i am hoping it's benign, but if it's not i know it is being discovered very early. i doubt i'd have a surgery to remove anything benign, mostly due to the fact that i have always had benign lumps in my breasts, but if the doctor recommends it, i will.
peace. =)
Thank you for your kind comment :) I hope all goes well! That's good that they were able to catch it early.
you're welcome, and thank you. of course i hope all goes well, too. it just goes to show that a yearly (age and symptom appropriate) exam is important, no matter how many years you've preformed monthly self-exams or received image-assisted exams with normal results. whatever this is, it's not had more than 12 months to grow, and that is a super-good thing in cases like these.
Thank you for the explanation. I am going through this now and your insight is valuable
Thank you for sharing your experience it will help me to go for the surgery as I am sacred. I am facing the same problem.
My prayers for you that surgery goes well. You’ve got this! 💖💖💖

And after surgery any chances for lumps again in breast?
Women get lumps for a variety of reasons. There’s always a chance that another one could pop up. I haven’t had another one since this video. When I went in, I had a core biopsy done first to tell what kind of lump it was, and then surgery to remove the lump. Afterwards, they did lab work to confirm it was a fibroadenoma.
Jess thank u for sharing its really helpful. Four days ago I find out I have mass in my breast and doctor said that they think is Fibroadenoma but I am going to have biopsy soon. hey Jess thank you so much for this video. I also have a lump and I'm scared to have it removed because of the basic fear of surgery and also I'm concerned about the way my breasts will look different in size and shape after the surgery. the lump is about 3 cm in diameter
im having this same experiende right now. how did it go for you?
The internet loves to tell horror stories about all things. It can be pretty discouraging. Good luck I hope all goes well :)

Thank you for your video. It’s very helpful .I’m going to have mine removed next week .
Thank u so much for this. I just found a 2 centimeter lump with a slight pucker underneath my left breast towards the middle of my chest. I have to go for the mammogram and tomor
Todo digital ultrasound. Thank u again.
Hi Lara! My lump is about the same size. Im curious...did you get it removed? Was is benign?
disgisexoxo size of a pea.
@@elliechasingsunrises thanks a lot..
You're welcome. I hope it goes well, too :) You can always ask the surgeon/nurses any questions prior to the procedure to help.
Did u feel any pain during surgery?
Thank you for this video!! I'm having a biopsy on Monday.
Smooches!
How did your biopsy turn out
I found a lump a few days ago. I’m around your age when you found yours, I’m about to get my period but I’m so worried. I’m making an appointment with my gp but I’m so scared.
Not sure if you would see this, since this video was 5yrs ago. I’m wondering if the lump would come back after removal?
It shouldn’t if it’s fully removed. Other lumps could appear but so far I haven’t had mine come back or have new ones.
Give them a call and they’ll get you in 💖 lumps arise for so many different reasons
i had almost the exact same experience as you. this has really helped me thankyou ❤️
ThatGirlNamedOlivia X Im so glad my video was able to help you!
Thanks for sharing i have lumps and ill have to get a procedure done as well
Praying for a smooth surgery and fast recovery 💖
I actually had to have emergence surgery it was supose to be Monday July 13 but they rused it to Friday July 9 the cysts on my breast got a bad infection the bacteria was eating away at my skin and flesh i left my appointment and had to go straight to surgical clinic the doctor said it was to bad I had to leave the clingy and go to the hospital I was going to surgery at 8 to 9 pm she left a open hole and packed it so it can drain the excess now it's July 12 i can feel that hole is closing im a fast healer the hole has closed a bunch since the 9th
It's the 12 and its already itching like crazy and closing up
After the the effect of the anesthesia is gone how did u feel.. was it terrible.??
It took a full day before I felt any pain. After that I used an ice pack regularly to help with the discomfort. On a scale of 1-10, it was a 6 at the worst. I rested for a couple of days and then all was well after a full week.
This is great well done for sharing, I'm sure it will be very helpful to people looking for info. Brave to share well done :)
Thank you for your encouragement :)
Thanks for sharing your experience I got a mass I am scared but thanks for your video 🌸
was the lump moving a little when you touch it?
Sara Baldassarre Yes, it felt like it wiggled a little. It stays in the same place in the breast but feels like movement
Ann I have a question please. I realized I have a lump in my left breast, it's one year know but the lump doesn't change in size and no pain. AM 18Years old.
I’d see your doctor to get it checked out 😊
Thank you. God bless you

I just removed mine last week is painless
ibprophin can make you bleed heavy as well, only tale what your doctor tells you too take and keep a ice pack with you.

Thank you.
I had no pain with my breast lump. I suggest you get that checked right away if it is causing you that much discomfort.
OMG same. Any update about your check up?
Thank you so much for sharing your story !!!
that's when you go to the ER tootsie roll
breast mass excision was the procedure done to my mom. Is it okay to have bruising after the operation? How long do they stay? She has a 2 tubes stitched near where the breast is rrmoved to remove the blood clot
Thank you for sharing your story. :)
How long would you say you had to take off "work" even though you are in school you said?
I was back at work the next day, cool as a cucumber , with no hint of a hospital visit 😊
I didn’t use a cold compress, but I did adjust my bra straps (soft padded bras, some underwire) to fit my chest and hold my breasts in, tighter than usual. I took the meds I was given.
Altogether Ive been right as rain. Pain is almost non-existent
You don’t have to take time off work per se... A few hours, at the most ..
Hi my breast surgery is fully removed so what type of bra i should wear
I didn't know you didn't have to get anesthesia for this!!!! My situation is very similar and all my anxiety is based on being knocked out and tubes in my throat. I hope this is an option for me as well 😭
Most people are fully awake for this procedure (some choose not to be) and only local anesthesia is used to numb the breast area. There is no IV. I'm with you, I do not like needles or anything of the sort. The process went really well and the nurse made me feel very comfortable. I hope you have a good experience, too!
hi...can i ask u if how much it will cost for your surgery? tia take care
At the time of my surgery I was fully covered by insurance. Costs will vary by location. If you have insurance, you can call your insurance company and they can tell you what percentage they will cover. If you call the breast care center, they can tell you the cost of a biopsy, ultrasound, surgery, etc.
+Jess Ann thank u so much for the info.....God bless!!
@@elliechasingsunrises hi Jess, can you mention the spesific size? I am scared, mine is about 4,2cm :( and it really hurts.
Hi did the shape or size of your breast changed? how big was your lump?
Nothing changed, but there's a slight scar that remains visible. The lump was about the size of a small grape.
Thanks for sharing this info with us all.
Going to have this done tomorrow. Kinda freaking out a bit. Did you have that new Savi Scout where they put the antenna not wire in to find it?
I’m actually not sure what process they used. I don’t recall a wire but I also didn’t look during the process or ask questions. Praying everything goes well and you have peace throughout the entire process 💖
Thanks Jen. No before the the actual lumpectomy they use a wore or an antenna now so when the surgery comes they can go in and find it. Either or should've been before hand. I will try. Thank you for giving me a good feeling. And know I have great staff cause my dad always comes there to that hospital. Hahaha Thank for your kind words.
@@lisamccloud3750 How is everything ?
Thanks.
@jess ann
thanks you for sharing it was a blessing and you was so comforting and easy to listen too so thank you n GOD bless
I'm really glad this video has been helpful :)
Jess Ann this is
The remove my breasts lump on Monday 3/11/2019
But one lump still in my breasts
Help me what can I do
Biopsy was painful?
Does this lump makes the ribs in pain around?
I didn’t have any pain. However it could be different for everyone. I’d see a doctor if you are experiencing pain.
I know it’s been a while but did you find out about your rib pain? I have it too. I just figured it was my fibromyalgia.
do u think dis lump will bcome bigger after months actually my exams r going on so I delayed my surgery for 2 months is it okay?
I couldn't say, but your breast care doctor would be able to tell you. My guess is, with a non-cancerous lump, it is safe to wait two months to remove it. Sometimes lumps do change sizes, both shrinking and getting bigger. This could even be based on your menstrual cycle.

Getting a biospy soon on June 21rst 2019 at 10:30am
good luck tomorrow
How did it go ?
I am 17. Should i go for biopsy test? And the surgery?
update?
Hi i have a lump on my right breast and its pain i go to the doctor to make ultrasound and its only normal findings but its very pain im still woried right now, i ask you something when you found lump in your breast is it pain also? Thank you
I did not have any pain. I would talk to your doctor to find out more information about why you are feeling pain.
You’ve got this 💖
Thanks for sharing your experience God blessed you, you really strengthen and encourage me I love you stay blessed
Jess Ann no.. But when i add some pressure to it.. It hurts alot not like any other spot when i add pressure... Thank you for your advice :)
It doesn't sound like abreast lump, but I would get it checked out regardless :)
thank you for sharing..❣️❣️
