Over turning the wheel is one of the biggest mistakes that most beginner's and intermediate drives make. For me my biggest challenge now is not over braking, coming off the brakes earlier to carry more speed, and maybe just applying a touch of braking mid corner
Yes you can minimize the turning radius to save tires, BUT first you must understand and know the limits of the track or corner! The newer players tend to over correct past the apex because they are unsure of running wide. Keep pushing the boundary and with practice and experience, good things will happen! Burn some Rubber and prosper!
I just tried this on autopolis circuit experience, 1st sector(1 corner) and took 3 tenths off of my best time. Unbelievable, Ty digit, I think you may have transformed my game with one short vid. I have always jumped hard on the brakes and trailed. I came out of corner so much faster and could get on the throttle much earlier.😎✌️
Great Video, huge news to me 👍 It is odd, i feel like there's not a real place, where GT7 quirks are published in depth. Like if you wanna learn Tekken, there are more insane in depth guides than you could ever consume. GT7 is like, yeah, brake early, accelerate early, basic stuff, and everything else is kind of kept secret. I probably could watch some universal (sim)racing guides, but then again you can't be sure what translates to GT7, when it's not even hinting the existence of tire temperature ingame.
Hey. I am with you in terms of steering. For me as a Controller driver it is very Hard Not to Turn in too much. Often I turn too much and have understeering and kind of steer with my gasfinger. :-) But how in your Kliniken does the „Lift and cost“ take an effect to the tire wear? I think it is only useful for fuelsaving.
i just found your channel and im not into sim racing i have a wheel but just to randomly play forza and ats but seeing how you explain all this helps alot not just to play but in real live hahaha thanks man for the knowlege
I use the controller and man this is impossible for me to do while maintaining any pace. Can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess. My tyres are completely dead midway through lap 12 on the new daily C at Watkins Glen even in cars with good tyre wear. Tried the Renault Gr3 too and that was crazy at the end with no rear tyres.
Great video digit thanks for sharing. I have just downloaded the SIM Dashboard app which shows tyre temperature in GT7. It's about £3 for GT7 add on. Be interesting to see a comparison like that with that on. Hopefully the game will start showing this information soon as it has it built in. 👍
@@DigitRacingDG haven't had the time to try it much with work, don't think the optimal tyre temps are set right as standard it showed about 180 Deg at start so will need to drop that 100 Deg or so. Be interesting to see how you get on if you get time. 👍
Apparently there is some android app that some people use (I think it's called Sim dashboard) to see the tyre temps as well. All the app needs is PS5's IP address to show more telemetry. The app is free, but the addon for GT7 costs some pennies. Maybe incorporating that will give us more info as well.
In the end, it's about understanding the limits of the track and the optimal angle or curve of each corner. If you are following a car or cars, yes lifting early and down shifting late will save your tires. In a battle, your best bet is maximizing the driving line to save tires!
Depends of the track I guess but coasting will always be a good option even in MR cars. Same for smooth turning inputs. The MR cars problem can be the rear tires wear (BB can help with that) and also unstability over big curbs. But overall those tips are great imo.
For those of you that don't understand the thumbnail. He's saying don't do what Lightning McQueen does, steering right to go left. Drifting wears out tires faster 🙃

Don’t even try to come in first , I’m just trying to clean and improved my position along the way

Great stuff here, I will do my best to incorporate these tips into my racing, thank you for the video 👍
Glad it was helpful!

Hard braking consumes a lot of tyres, same as aggressive turning and gas. Tyre saving and gas saving are quite tied, eventually.

Hi, how to i know that i am Over turning the wheel and my car starts understeering?
Awesome insight my friend, I definitely have some homework to do! Cheers
Any time!

P.s Doutinator has been playing around with it on his channel if you want some info.
nice short informative video
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the cool tips bro, I think this is exactly what I needed 👌🏽
No problem 👍
This is gold! Thank you
Great discussion and examples. Thanks Digit.
Thanks man
It all makes sense, thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the useful analysis!
My pleasure!
@@DigitRacingDG referring to your PM, please note that I cannot get in touch with the App you have proposed until with have a mutual contact...

Turn up volume on tire sound and try to keep them quiet.
so by turning less, does this mean I have to turn alot earlier?

@@arkadedrive8257 unfortunately if you tried that with a car, you'd get massive understeer, slide and shred your tires.
Thank you for the advice!
Does this still have a big effect while using MR cars?

Yo digit should I get the $200 McClaren wheel for the csl dd pro or just stick with the playstation wheel?
You want get much difference, you can but it but the quality of the build is pretty much the same as well as the feeling
Correct me if I'm wrong... BUT... that red car is using automatic transmission?? It says AT?
Yes...
Excellent video - thanks!
Glad it helped!
So tough to do that while keeping pace 😫
Puré gold, thank! Thanks!
Wow, this is great to know!

They're in auto?
I wonder if still relevant for patch 1.31…
Very interesting video. But why on earth is a world tour driver using an automatic gearbox...
That's a bug in the replay menu

Drifting wears out tires faster 🙃
so basically less braking, less throttling and less steering makes me quicker?
All those can make you slower too. Its all practice practice practice (and then someone shunts you on lap 9). frustrating addiction.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
You are wrong he uses down shifts to slow himself down instead of using breaks , in real life breaks heat up
And they wear faster when they are hot
🤔👍🇨🇦
You just ruined my argument to blame my hardware (G29), HA! Great video, keep it coming!
