Hey, that's great. I'm so pleased my video has helped you. Good luck with your new reefing hobby, and welcome to the Salty side! Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
@@ReefDrama Im about to get a larger tank so yes, firstly to reduce noise but also to further remove detritus from reaching the filter cups. How did you make it? (my new tank is a Red Sea Reefer 250)
@@toffski oh nice 😀 Yeah it works great and pushes the debris and detritus towards the opposite end on the filter floss which is when I take it out and replace. The spillway is made up of a flat black piece of plastic with a nice curve all the way across at one end making the water spill over it and then to raise the filter floss up I have a peice of egg crate that sits on the 4 cups. This then slides underneath the spillway. Nothing is permanent so I can lift out the spillway and clean it if required. To keep it in place I have a small piece of egg crate that wedges in-between the 2 peices of glass in the 1st small chamber. Hope that helps?

That plastic with the floss is a great idea. I’m gonna do that.
Thanks very much. Glad it helps 😃
I originally had a larger version on my old Koi pond. Worked great!
Never owned a reef tank before, just picked up a 425 xl second hand, this video has helped me a lot in understanding the setup, cheers for that
