My thinking is Unicron is seeing Galactus as a transformer but since we are the viewers of the battle we see Galactus as he typically is

What happened during the fight was that Unicron took control of the Nullifier by using his spark.
His spark can control every piece of technology and he used it to destroy Galactus .
But Galactus escaped the Nullifier's effects by hiding in a pocket dimension.
What made spark strong enough to break Galactus's power over it?
YES! FINALLY! Was WAITING for this reaction!
Basically, what happened at the end was that since Unicron put his spark in the Ultimate Nullifier that also made him a part of Galactus, allowing him to absorb Unicron, effectively winning.
17:06 oh, and if that wasn’t enough already, one thing they didn’t mention is that they both have heralds that they claimed and transformed to do their bidding
Galactus turned Norrin Radd into Silver Surfer
Unicron turned Megatron into Galvatron
Didnt realize Megatron was the Herald of Unicron. Both decided to chrome out their heralds I guess lol.
Even in that fight I'd put my money on the Silver Silver Surfer.
Now i cannot imagine how stromg pre retcon beyonder is. He 1 shottet galactus like insignificant fly
I don't know about Transformers energies, but power cosmic is like the supreme energy. You can't beat power cosmic with anything else than power cosmic itself.

Great fight but I call cap on the outcome personally.
Here are some a few of the many things that made this my favourite Death Battle ever
The scope of the fight, remember back in Thanos VS Darkseid when they became planet sized towards the end of the fight and started beating each other with other planets? Galactus VS Unicron made that the default here, afterwards they become bigger than galaxies and throwing them at each other instead. Heck, Galactus VS Unicron is actually one of only TWO Death Battles where one of the combatants destroys an entire planet just as the battle is starting, the first one was Beerus VS Sailor Galaxia.
The little details, notice how after they become Galaxy sized in the fight, we see tiny specks floating around in front of them that weren’t there before? That’s because those are stars, they’re just so big now that stars look like specks of dust floating through space to them. Also the black hole that we see in the background around the time the vocals start in the music track. And lastly, when Galactus grabs onto planet earth with his hand at the start of the fight, we see a ripple effect happen but no other damage is made, not only because his body is composed of energy, not matter, but also because while he’s not good, he’s not evil either, whereas when Unicron grabs onto it with his hand, the planet starts heating up on the surface and turning black and orange, like the planet is dying right where Unicron’s hand is touching, implying the exact opposite of Galactus, cause Unicron’s body is physical, but also because Unicron is the physical embodiment of evil.
The dialogue, notice how after they become the size of galaxies, they start speaking in rhymes. “Beg not for mercy, behold blackened skies, against mine chaos, even gods will die” “Galactus meets your challenge, hears your call, this world, we’ll bring destruction to it all”, after they both become Galaxy sized, they weren’t just rhyming, they were speaking in iambic pentameter. Also Galactus’ “begone” from earlier in the fight as he telekinetically throws planets at Unicron? Chills man.
The music, way more befitting of a fight between universal threats than what we got in Thanos VS Darkseid (which was a rap song), Tiggs did a fantastic job of making the fight more dramatic with her vocals. And that one scene where Galactus threw five or six planets at Unicron, the buildup in both Galactus’ power and in the music gets me hyped every time, then after Unicron get hit with them, and is sent sailing through space, that slight pause in the music with the guitar, right before Unicron recovers and grabs a freaking SUN as he passes by and hurls it back at Galactus, that’s when the vocals start, and when they do, CHILLS MAN, EVERY TIME.
