- In this video I try out the One Tap or QuickShot automated flight modes with the Fimi Mini 3 drone. It was well over 100°f that afternoon so I was able to see how well the drone could handle the heat too.

I fly my drone sitting in my car most of the time. It's a good way to stay cool and people don't bother you as much.

Thanks for testing out the quick shots. The 1080p limit was a disappointment, but I believe even DJI had this limitation back in the day. And I can’t figure why the orbit wasn’t working, I wonder if other Fimi testers are having the same issue. At least you can say the drone passed the heat test. Great video, and thanks for sharing Marcus.

You are a trooper! BTW, I flew the other day at similar temps and my charger malfunctioned with the hot battery. Once the battery was cooler, it charged fine. Thanks for sharing and stay cool. BTW, Costco has nifty neck fans which can help you overcome some of the heat. Thanks for sharing and stay cool! 😎

Hi Marcus, thank you for the review of the Fimi Mini 3. The temperature maximum spec for the Fimi Mini 3 is 104 F (40 C). Reviews are showing the Fimi Mini 3 to be a good drone. BTW, you can lead a round landing pad to water, but ........... vbg

Overall I'm liking the fimi mini 3 because of the features. However, disappointed in its lack of range. Lucky to get 600m. My DJI mini 2 and mini 3 pro do double the range under similar conditions/locations.
PS. If i have clear line of sight (LOS) the fimi does OK. ie. almost a km. However a couple of trees or a building or two and range really suffers.
I need to try that! I didn't fly it very far this time.
My Fimi X8 Mini didn't like spiralling/orbiting either as one tap. I think (and this is also the reason of the 1080p limit) this is because of the method, that in this mode the drone is trying to fix the center point "visually", analyzing the camera picture content. These are little computers with very limited calculation capacity so this image detection may only work in ideal conditions.
The recent firmware update corrected the issue for me. 👍

It was 108 here in Eagle a few days ago so I flew my Potensic Atom and my autel evo 2 v3 in RTK mode. I ran both up to 200’ and ran them for 20 minutes each. They both got pretty hot by the time I hauled them down though the Atom was really hot. Unfortunately, I did not measure the surface temp of the drone and the battery. I think I will do it again when it gets hot on Saturday and measure the temperatures of the surface of the drone and the batteries. Might be interesting.
The Atom does not have a fan, so yes, I'm sure it would get quite hot. 👍
Marcus, I have a question for you, Ref the Navi mini app, in the general settings there is the Homepoint option with two icons, one is like a paper airoplane and the other a person. How do you select them and what does each one do, mine cannot be selected and I cannot find a way to enable them. I cannot find anything in the Fimi Mini 3 manual or online? I assume one allows it to RTH wherever the controller or phone is, any ideas?
I've never tried that with the Fimi Mini. I'm sorry I don't have an answer. Next time I fly it I'll look though.
@@IdahoQuadcopter Marcus, all sorted now, the two buttons are enabled after take-off, then you can select either one. Although the manual is quite comprehensive this item is not covered. Thanks again.

Those cell towers or lamp posts or even a flag are lousy targets even with DJI drones. (DJI does better but a lot of times loses the target)
What really works great with the Fimi mini 3 is the more detailed orbit you showed later. To set the center you should have the camera pointing straight down and then fly over the center spot before setting. Then back off to your desired radius and height. What's interesting about that fiminorbit is you can lower the height when you back off so if you are doing a flag you can be perfectly horizontal to it. Not sure it would work but it might be possible to fly around a round building like the coliseum in Rome

I'm interested in this drone. Was worried about RC connection distance limitations compared to other minis like DJI and Autel. I like my lower priced Potensic Atom except for this issue.
You made a great observation. Both DJI and Autel have the best range and connection by far.
@@IdahoQuadcopter Yes, seems that way so far. Was considering an EXO (Hubsan) mini too... many people like them, but not sure about the range and reliability. Think they might have issues picking up satellites quickly, so can't get up in the air as fast.

Is it possible to extend the height restriction of this quad? I want to be able to climb a mountain side and not be stopped by the height restriction.
That would be a question for Fimi Support. I do not know.
Tell me have you ever been to Camas prairie, have you seen the masive flood ripples there that go for mile after mile across the planes, there mind blowing.Great place to fly a drone , there are pictures and video of it on google.

@@IdahoQuadcopter I definitely would if i lived their, There are drone videos on youtube, some are 300 feet wide and 45 feet high, the waves must have been incredible , Greame hancock mentions the area on the Joe rogan show on youtube , Maybe i should start building an ark , How far away is it from where you are if you dont mind me asking ime very interested in it .How come they never show it on television , Now their's a question .And the massive boulders in boulder Colorado their not part of the natural bedrock, some are as big mansion houses , you live in very interesting part of the world, i hope you realise it.

@@IdahoQuadcopterYou got the Mavic 3 haven't you , i remember you flying it over the area, now that would produce astonishing pictures of those flood ripples, with its stunning 4K camera , the local indians who lived in that region before the white men, i wonder what they say about those ripples , i agree with Greame Hancock there was definitely an ancient Massive flood .Where i disagree he puts it down to melting ice , i dont .

I saw it when you went through preflight menu, precision landing was off. Good flight! Why did the circle flight quick shot not work?

@@IdahoQuadcopter : Fimi is pretty goog at the RTH stuff. Even my DJI Mini 3 has good and bad days. As you have said before... PL is really only a Parlour trick.

Yes. It is considered the best mini drone ever according to Dronenation. But unless the price is substantially less you might as well get the DJI mini 4k.
Yes, the Mini 2 SE is a great drone! In the US they dropped the price to $279. I'm not sure if the DJI Mini 4K is available in the UK. It's only $20 USD more and shoots in 4K resolution.

Its bin hot here in England today as well 27° but nothing compared to your tempreture , but its humid here, global warming 's getting scary, DJI have droped the price of the original mini to £269 on amazon a bargain , even ime tempted,, that should kill off shop TVs crap drone, to be honest, i think DJI are worried about congress banning imports into the US, the bottom has dropped out of the industry a bit, so ime not surprised , there dropping prices.
