Hi GM, nice discussion of the Fimi Mini 3 SE, thanks for sharing. I suspect that the reduced speed of the Mini 3 SE is to allow image stabilization to keep up. I still think that the Fimi Mini 3 is the best
Which Mini 3? Fimi or DJI? If you say the Fimi Mini 3... $150 more??? Pretty hard to justify for 4k@60 and night mode for the average recreational user.
@@GorillamansGarage I'm from Europe so im speaking for myself... I'm looking on aliexpress, Fimi Mini 3 Se is 250€, Fimi Mini 3 is 271€ for 1 battery and 315€ for 2 battery... For that price difference its better to take mini 3? Does mini 3 still lag after taking 48MP photos, or it is solved in one of the firmware updates?
Brother there's no way, I went on AliExpress and saw ur review lol, I bought the se about a week ago but definitely thinking of buying a second now becuz it's so dang cheap. Honestly I've been following the drone market for years now and we've literally reached peak level on drone parts and production which makes right now the best time I'd say in probably out of a good 10 to 15 years of waiting, the age of advanced cheap drones has arrived. The capabilities because of this monumental feat will be completely unheard of and along with AI my guy u will be seeing sum crazy things in this lifetime before u kick the bucket.
Very impressive budget drone, I was really surprised at how good the camera quality looked. I wonder how it compares to the $199 DJI Neo camera quality. It's nice the Fimi really didn't have to sacrifice much to lower the price by $100 of the Fimi Mini 3. Great review GM, and thanks for sharing.
I have heard from a few people trying to compare the FM3SE to the Neo.... I am shocked and say .. WHY? The Neo is a gimmick selfie camera that acts like a feather in the wind. I'm sure the DJI EIS is top notch and can see things improving rapidly in the future.
I had a drone about 10 years ago but have not touched one again since, so I should be considered just about a newbie I suppose? If I could pick your brains and ask you? Bearing in mind that an ok camera is good enough for my needs, I am not a photo quality nerd. Should I opt for the 2 (given the lower price these days), the 3, or the 3SE? What would be your choice/advice? Great video. Many thanks.
Nice video, Thanks for your work....I want to buy the Fimi Mini 3, and I have a doubt... in tracking mode, can I move it down and close to the subjet as the hoverair X1 or DJI Neo do? Lets say I want to track someone at his face level and 2m away... it is possible?
Nice video. What's your best guess on how many minutes you can fly at say 12 meters/second? I'm speculating that the SE gets slightly better flight time than the mini three because the third axis of the gimbal is digital which doesn't allocate battery power. As for penetration I've seen someone on RUclips do 10km on the mini 2.. a lot of it has to do with environment. Where I live I rarely get past 7K but occasionally I can get 9k on the 2020... The key for maximum range is having line of sight
The key to long range signal is line of sight. If you go out to one of those ponds and take it up to maximum altitude you'll be able to get massive range likely as long as you fly out past the pond to use it as a tree clearance... If there's any hills that give you a visual vantage point that would work as well
Time in flight will vary but I found all the Fimi Minis get within a few minutes of each other. Obviously the Li-ion pack works better but not by much. I do have a video somewhere on the different batteries.
I just got my 3SE a couple of days ago. I tried both 2.4G and 5G video transmission, no difference in latency, it works fine with my iPhones or my Galaxy S5E - tho I need to get the extension cable. I also tried changing from software acceleration to hardware. to see how or if that affected latency - but now I can't for the life of me find the setting to go back to software acceleration. With it stuck in hardware acceleration, FPV latency when used with my iPad Mini 4 is about 8 seconds - it's totally unusable.
Hi GM, i have a fimi x8 mini v1, i think fimi wont update the firmware of the v1 anymore, i dont receive any "new firmware found" updates in the app anymore, maybe fimi droped the firmware support on the x8 mini v1 series.
In what way is Follow 3 different from Smart Track? It is both optical. Unfortunately Fimi abandoned GPS follow-me. The A3 was the best ever. But maybe the Follow 3 uses both optical and GPS together?
@@GorillamansGarage It's a real shame drone manufacturers cripple their products by not adding GPS follow-me. Not that I am against optical tracking. But is it not a replacement for follow-me.
@@GorillamansGarage If I were to let you try my Fimi A3 you would say 'oh wow that works really great'. But you can purchase Maven or Litchi for your DJI drone. Then you will have GPS follow-me also. For Fimi there aren't any third party apps.
At the 27 minute mark You grabbed the drone and it automatically shuts off. You're not hitting any buttons? When I grab the 3SE out of the air it just kicks in to full throttle and tries to pull away from me out of my hand until I eventually let go of it. Am I doing something wrong? Or are you just letting it land in the palm of your hand? Haven't tried that

Because the penetration of the signal is just amazing I’m doing over kilometre without any losing signal also camera controller and everything is really great completely different quality than others and all them issues I’ve seen it on RUclips has been resolved by the Autel I really recommend to you try one day have a nice day, gorillaman 👍🏻
@@Uncle_Good_Advice : I agree.. Autel was a great upscale alternative. They do have some of the best cameras on the market (and the highest prices). Unfortunately.. Nothing new will be coming from Autel for the consumer market. They have gone the way of Parrot and now maybe even Hubsan and are focusing on commercial/industrial ventures.
2 axis good luck
When you think of it... the GoPro & DJI Osmo have no axis?? Maybe they are on to something?? Let's see what DJI does with their Mini 5 !
2 axis is fine for going forward and backwards and up and down. (which is 90% of flying) The third axis is necessary for yawing/turning. EIS can only do so much. So all you need to do is yaw slowly and avoid inputting rolling action (right stick left and right) to get real nice smooth level video.
PS. GoPros don't have gimbals because you want that chaotic action video FPV look.
@@gimpman1357 : I suppose so... but still, pretty good video for the money no?
FIMI MINI 3 SE has 3axis gimbal
@@GorillamansGarage You won't find anything better for $199.99. In particular since you'll be getting tracking and waypoints and some excellent quick shots. Best feature from Fimi is the manually set circle me.
Thanks for the video, but I couldn't hear a single thing you said with that awful music playing 🍻
@@spike-- . Yes.. I messed up there.

@@Vedrinec394 : is one missing?
The prices are not good 200 for dron 50-70 for extra battery and bag, for that same many you get Fimi mini 3 with 2 batteryes and bag … so 200 is same price as Fimi mini 3 regullar
When all the Fimi Drones came on the market.. they came in a bare bones box.. No bag nothing. As time goes by, Fimi offers little extras to move stagnant product lines. And as always... after yo buy something, you can always find it cheaper somewhere else. If you want the Fimi Mini 3 and can get a 2 battery pack with bag for $200... that is a very good deal.
@@GorillamansGarage no i can get two battery, bag , better dron Fimi mini 3 regullar for 280, but when you buy extra battery and bag for se you get same price but not so good dron as regullar Fimi mini 3 . So my point is that 200 usd is to much vs Fimi mini 3 reguralle with battery-bag bundle …
@@Vedrinec394 : If you can buy the FM3 combo for $200... then yes it is a good deal. I have looked and can not find the 2 battery and bag FM3 kit for less than $400
@@GorillamansGarage 325 usd shiping free two batteryes and bag 👌
@@Vedrinec394 : Please share the link to this deal you speak of. I am sure many would like to see.
i think se means second edion
People have come up with some interesting ideas 😱🥳👍
@@GorillamansGarage thanks for that 😁 maybe some another video review you could describe it as fimi mini 3 second edition 🤣
Se means sub edition ..
DJI mini 2 DJI mini 2 sub edition ..it's the poor man's version ..sub ed
No music. Can't hear you speaking.
Yes.. I caught that after the upload.
