Hi downwiththemaster yes the mural around the stadium is definitely one of the highlights of downtown! :D It really showcases some of the creativity and colourful culture that Papua New Guinea has to offer! Thanks for visiting our channel! :D
the city is clean and free of air pollution, in contrast to cities in Indonesia where a lot of garbage is thrown anywhere and motorbikes make the air not fresh too. From mangi boda Boven Digoel West Papua (Border RI/PNG)🙏
PNG is an underrated nation. Most people I know have heard of it but know basically nothing about it. Most Americans see it as "that nation right above Australia". I love learning about different nations and their culture. It surprised me to see how Papua New Guinea isn't similar AT ALL to Australia OR Indonesia. The only neighbor it's even remotely similar to is Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. I love underrated countries, when I travel the world some day, PNG is one of the first on my list.
def come and visit. I love people that are open minded like myself. I know we get a bad rep but PNG is a country to visit because it will ope your eyes to a lot of diverse and beautiful culture.
Reminiscing back in 2012, when I went back home for the first time in 24years. Driving down these streets with my uncle and family. Seeing everything as an adult, what a change it’s been. Thanking for sharing your video. X
Thank you for sharing this. Definitely missed POM and PNG, lotsa memories driving from Boroko to Taurama Aquatic Center to SVS going down to Badili traversing thru POM downtown and having great food at Harbour City while enjoying the fresh sea breeze and watching the lovely sunset. Good thing Ela beach has greatly improved. Missed the great and friendly people and simple way of life in PNG. Hope to be back with my family soon
I grew up in Port Moresby in the 1980s, (I live in Australia now). Ela beach used to be a nice beach to swim at, it's completely different now and not for the better. I guess with the increased water pollution people had stopped swimming at the beach (my family did by the late 80s). Apart from that Port Moresby looks like it has changed a lot. Wagani is now more populated.
DON'T be fooled. This city constantly pops up on RUclips travel videos as one of the most dangerous in the world because of the crime rate. You're safer in crime riddled South Los Angeles! This is NO place for females. The men there find nothing wrong with rape or violence against women.
@@largol33t1 We just watched "Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel" and Port Moresby is NOTHING like Skid Row or areas like South Los Angeles... @@largol33t1 Sadly, you seemed to have been fooled by travel videos being posted on Port Moresby by people with wrong intentions/motives to tarnish and undermine the profile of this fast developing city build by the people themselves for themselves as well as for people who choose to live among them. That was very cool. I worked in PNG for 26 weeks, in fact on the building @ 2.58, the Waigani supermarket and theatre complex, on the left of the shot. We done all of the exterior cladding on that project. We are in NewZealand and enjoyed working with the local boys. What good memories you have brought back to us. G

Don’t think so, only essential travellers and diplomats allowed in right now - need permission to enter the country by Pandemic Controller and it’s unlikely to be approved right now if flying via Australia, as Australia is not giving permission for travellers to leave Australia for PNG - COVID-19 is rapidly spreading since February, with a large influx of cases recently.
