If one of your goals in life is not to find a quality woman to share your life then I would argue you do not have very high goals. A quality woman will be by your side and help push you to those. I've been in relationships where things seemed to be progressing then things as i like to say "went off the cliff" because the woman either said I was "pushing her" or "wasn't chasing her enough". I thought the same thing as you said in this video, as long as two people are chasing each other or as long as one is chasing the other, they're never getting any closer. I was once told by a female "The man is supposed to chase the woman". I replied, "No the man should pursue the woman not chase her" Then I resisted the urge to say, "If you want to be chased, you need a dog, not a boyfriend." lol
This is true. I tried NC with an ex, we literally went like 7-8 months of doing it and no one reached out. Sometimes people do move on and I began to know a new lady who is great and my advice would be especially for those who got dumped, just move on with your life and it will bring you peace.
Her advice is the OPPOSITE of what all the men dating coaches say do Haha 😁. But her advice makes sense IF you can find a good woman nowadays which is not toxic. And that's not easy to find nowadays.
I find women coaches are indeed the opposite of what males coaches say, but I think it's far better to get an opinion from a woman coach as they will of course know women better.
Well, I don’t doubt Melanie is a good person, and honest … however, women are challenged to say they adhere to the higher standard (desire a “kind” man) but if they actually are attracted to a man who is not kind they will not necessarily admit it. Yes, best to avoid chasing toxic women to begin with, but if your target woman is dismissive (toxic) and admits she needs to change, she may respond in the short term to being ignored as a wake up call
This can happen for a few different reasons. Remember that pursuing is only effective when it's done the right way. Pursuing can come across as very needy if you don't have the right strategy. It doesn't matter how many times you pursue the wrong way you won't get the result you want. Also, it's important that you aren't pursuing a toxic woman. If you are then she will treat you badly all day long because she gets a thrill out of the fact that you pursued her. But she isn't really interested. What I more. Importantly understand is that we see things as a projection of our insides. I believe you may be telling me your story and not asking me about mine. I believe I used the words authentic from the beginning. I am thinking you have some attachment style wounds that would be a better addressed in order to attract the relationship you want and not what you are. Great video. Makes a lot of sense, and the honesty of your words comes across very clearly. You don't double talk, or be rude to anyone watching. I can tell stories about the chasing games, being dumped, ignored, and the list goes on. There is a very strong sense of maturity, and strength in the vulnerability being shown in pursuing a woman, on both sides. If either person doesn't put some hope and faith into a relationship in the beginning, it will be games, and not the overlapping of love and caring towards each other that it could be. Sometimes, as one person sees what they lost, they can begin to understand it, and feel the days that could have been. A quick story, a girl that I had seen at one time, had come in to work, and was talking with me a bit. Conversation went to her walking out on me, and what have you, and she quite loudly said 'Because I love you' to me. It actually made me feel quite badly, because it seems that she realised. It's a very painful memory, because to see that kind of love sometime after, that can't be changed. Anyways, if anyone thinks they are the only ones that struggles with memories like this, they are wrong.
I had stopped caring for years but it was all because I was convinced no one cares. I didn’t even care about chasing. Being alone and single gave me time to think about what I’d rather be doing in life and work on making it happen. I’m hopeful that who I really am will show and that I don’t leave everyone with the impression I’m a hateful person. Working on it all has made me happier and I went from not caring to not obsessing. If you have to constantly pine for someones attention, beg them to be noticed or play reverse psychology to get some intimate connection, you are with a toxic, broken woman and you cannot fix her.
Believe me, I've been there, and been messed up from the rejection issues it caused. For years. This is especially common of love avoidant types. They wow you off your feet only to become absent right before your very eyes, leaving you to begin a toxic chase, but things never improve. You keep trying to become sweeter and more wonderful, but the more you do, the worse it becomes. It is not your fault, but convincing your mind of that is not easy. They actually came into the relationship with this dysfunction, and they will carry it into all others until they resolve it with professional help or an honest, dedicated effort.
This one had some eye-openers... It makes sense. There have been times where I attempted the "I don't care" attitude, and of course it doesn't work. She got mad or upset, and our feelings were both hurt. Never again, for sure. Thanks for the advice.
This was a real eye opener. I thought the guy I liked a few years ago seemed alone and I tried to go after him to hopefully encourage him to help feel apart of the group. Honestly, I was chasing him because I was attracted to him and convinced myself that while chasing I can be a good friend. After watching this, I noticed he wasn't really genuine in getting know me and I fell for the chasing game and I was encouraging the bad behavior. Well I for one realized my answer too late! 1) decide if you really want this girl, not just seeing if you can get her to like you , 2) make sure you are ready for her,like you have a job, take care of yourself or at least try, dress neatly , 3) get ur confidence up and lay your cards on the table! I did try the "No contact rule", planned to do it for about a month, like someone suggested, after losing patience with her. After about 2 weeks of avoiding her and hiding online, ignoring texts, it seems there's a chance God decided to get involved and forced me and her to spend more time together at work, with our recent schedule changes. I am able to have lunch with her at work once a week now and she wants to hang out soon. (Maybe she saw something interesting in me with one of those conversations?) And she's been more open to me lately. There's been a lot of other things that happened between us lately that don't look like a coincidence. Maybe God knew the No Contact Rule was silly and wants to bring us closer, even though it's been kind of slow.

Love this topic and the video Melannie! You are definitely on to something here for guys who want to have a meaningful relationship. I’ve pulled back to be chased before and it backfired. There not many others debating this topic. Everything is about balance. Women love a guy who takes initiative for dates or activities but texting too much for example during the day could get her annoyed and come across as needy. It might help to show more examples to guys on when pursuing can turn into needy behaviour.

In my opinion, relying on the chase won't even get you a one night stand usually. When a girl only chases you when you stop caring about her, she isn't attracted to you, but she is only attracted to the idea of you because she can't have you. As soon as you start pursuing her, her "attraction" towards you will vanish. Very frustrating situation. When dealing with a girl in this kind of situation, just keep it moving. Meanwhile, all of this started with the man she left me for because he had raped and blackmailed her into an affair after being fed up of being told they were just friends and she was happily married to me. We tried to fix things, but he kept somehow worming his way back and I kept catching her having secrets conversations with him. We kept having fights about it, and she keep lying about who she was really talking to. She left last September to be with him, but came back in November when I told her I slept with another woman and that I was giving up on her and our marriage entirely. She fully blocked him, and did everything I had asked of her except for filing a restraining order against him to permanently burn the bridge and telling everyone the truth, and so I struggled to trust her. Even then, we didn't have a single fight, and everything was happy and wonderful as before, save for me occasionally checking her phone from time to time, which she had given me her blessing to do. Late march, she was with hanging out with our mutual friend, but wouldn't come home for whatever reason. She kept saying " just twenty more minutes". Afterwards, she moved right in with him while sending our son to live with her parents. She's gone back and forth between being warm and affectionate towards me and cold and distant. Lately, she's been distant, like maybe she's moved on completely and wants nothing more to do with me. But the worst part is that all of her friends and family have been so support of her and scuzzo, even calling him the "hero who saved her from a loveless marriage" and "a man finally deserving of her", and it's really heartbreaking to read such things when I had won her heart with kindness and sincerity and endless nights of Clue & Beatles music, and he "won" her by raping her and destroying our marriage, which he boasted about to our mutual friend, whom he repeatedly tried to have sex with in front of my her. My situation feels hopeless and the only thing going in my favor is that our son favors me over her, and that he continues to refuse to live with my wife and scuzzo, and wants nothing to do with him. He told him me that scuzzo was creepy and weird and that he didn't feel safe around him. People tell me I should just pack up and hit the road, start a new life wherever, but how do you just let your wife/best friend and son go? True, I'm not his biological dad, but I'm the one who raised him and the only dad he's known. And running away would only seem to cement my role as the bad guy in all this. I feel so lost.

Great video. Makes a lot of sense, and the honesty of your words comes across very clearly. You don't double talk, or be rude to anyone watching. I can tell stories about the chasing games, being dumped, ignored, and the list goes on. There is a very strong sense of maturity, and strength in the vulnerability being shown in pursuing a woman, on both sides. If either person doesn't put some hope and faith into a relationship in the beginning, it will be games, and not the overlapping of love and caring towards each other that it could be. Sometimes, as one person sees what they lost, they can begin to understand it, and feel the days that could have been. A quick story, a girl that I had seen at one time, had come in to work, and was talking with me a bit. Conversation went to her walking out on me, and what have you, and she quite loudly said 'Because I love you' to me. It actually made me feel quite badly, because it seems that she realised. It's a very painful memory, because to see that kind of love sometime after, that can't be changed. Anyways, if anyone thinks they are the only ones that struggles with memories like this, they are wrong.

If you have to constantly pine for someones attention, beg them to be noticed or play reverse psychology to get some intimate connection, you are with a toxic, broken woman and you cannot fix her.
Believe me, I've been there, and been messed up from the rejection issues it caused. For years. This is especially common of love avoidant types. They wow you off your feet only to become absent right before your very eyes, leaving you to begin a toxic chase, but things never improve. You keep trying to become sweeter and more wonderful, but the more you do, the worse it becomes. It is not your fault, but convincing your mind of that is not easy. They actually came into the relationship with this dysfunction, and they will carry it into all others until they resolve it with professional help or an honest, dedicated effort.
This one had some eye-openers... It makes sense. There have been times where I attempted the "I don't care" attitude, and of course it doesn't work. She got mad or upset, and our feelings were both hurt. Never again, for sure. Thanks for the advice.

This was a real eye opener. I thought the guy I liked a few years ago seemed alone and I tried to go after him to hopefully encourage him to help feel apart of the group. Honestly, I was chasing him because I was attracted to him and convinced myself that while chasing I can be a good friend. After watching this, I noticed he wasn't really genuine in getting know me and I fell for the chasing game and I was encouraging the bad behavior. I did try the "No contact rule", planned to do it for about a month, like someone suggested, after losing patience with her. After about 2 weeks of avoiding her and hiding online, ignoring texts, it seems there's a chance God decided to get involved and forced me and her to spend more time together at work, with our recent schedule changes. I am able to have lunch with her at work once a week now and she wants to hang out soon. (Maybe she saw something interesting in me with one of those conversations?) And she's been more open to me lately.
There's been a lot of other things that happened between us lately that don't look like a coincidence. Maybe God knew the No Contact Rule was silly and wants to bring us closer, even though it's been kind of slow.
Sometimes it works at work . That's how we started and didn't end well. Now that we don't work together it seems to have released the pressure.

In my opinion, relying on the chase won't even get you a one night stand usually. When a girl only chases you when you stop caring about her, she isn't attracted to you, but she is only attracted to the idea of you because she can't have you. As soon as you start pursuing her, her "attraction" towards you will vanish. Very frustrating situation. When dealing with a girl in this kind of situation, just keep it moving. Meanwhile, all of this started with the man she left me for because he had raped and blackmailed her into an affair after being fed up of being told they were just friends and she was happily married to me.
We tried to fix things, but he kept somehow worming his way back and I kept catching her having secrets conversations with him. We kept having fights about it, and she keep lying about who she was really talking to.
She left last September to be with him, but came back in November when I told her I slept with another woman and that I was giving up on her and our marriage entirely.
She fully blocked him, and did everything I had asked of her except for filing a restraining order against him to permanently burn the bridge and telling everyone the truth, and so I struggled to trust her. Even then, we didn't have a single fight, and everything was happy and wonderful as before, save for me occasionally checking her phone from time to time, which she had given me her blessing to do.
Late march, she was with hanging out with our mutual friend, but wouldn't come home for whatever reason. She kept saying " just twenty more minutes". So around 10:30, I asked her what was going on and she wouldn't just come home, and if she was secretly with that scumbag, and we had a big fight and she said nothing would ever be good enough to regain my trust and that she was done with me and our marriage and that the scumbag who had to rape her and blackmail and play mind games with her was more deserving of her love. Afterwards, she moved right in with him while sending our son to live with her parents.
She's gone back and forth between being warm and affectionate towards me and cold and distant. Lately, she's been distant, like maybe she's moved on completely and wants nothing more to do with me.
But the worst part is that all of her friends and family have been so support of her and scuzzo, even calling him the "hero who saved her from a loveless marriage" and "a man finally deserving of her", and it's really heartbreaking to read such things when I had won her heart with kindness and sincerity and endless nights of Clue & Beatles music, and he "won" her by raping her and destroying our marriage, which he boasted about to our mutual friend, whom he repeatedly tried to have sex with in front of my her.
My situation feels hopeless and the only thing going in my favor is that our son favors me over her, and that he continues to refuse to live with my wife and scuzzo, and wants nothing to do with him. He told him me that scuzzo was creepy and weird and that he didn't feel safe around him.
People tell me I should just pack up and hit the road, start a new life wherever, but how do you just let your wife/best friend and son go? True, I'm not his biological dad, but I'm the one who raised him and the only dad he's known. And running away would only seem to cement my role as the bad guy in all this.
