I purchased the IKEA mats that you suggested along with the open top and much bigger cage..and let me tell you, it's been a vast improvement for pigs and humans both!...❤...the cage is so much easier to clean and I bought an extra set of mats so I have one in use while the other is being washed...thank you for suggesting them -from Priscilla and Sugar's piggy Momma!...love the videos!!...❤❤

I also 2mths ago stopped with the shredded bedding went with washable fleece blankets under the fleece I have desposible pet pee pads. Yes another cost but more absorbent. I change everything after 3dys they have their own piggie hamper i take outside to shake off throw out the pads. Wash the canvas bottom lol my almost entire livingroom is a huge piggie enclosure. 3 4×6 cages all 3 cages are connected by a huge low sided play area . Every morning I open all 3 big cages and they all come out to interact and play in the open area i leave their doors open so the have even more space almost my entire livingroom floor😊 I love them & spoil them
Wow, that is an epic guinea pig living room, very nice! :D I was thinking we might need an absorbent layer under the mats but these mats have turned out to be magical. They seem to evaporate the moisture before it can collect so nothing even manages to soak through. We wash them every 3 days too.
This is nice for the piggies. I think it is probably more comfortable. I made my own huge fleece blankets for my two boys. I clean up doo doo constantly but they are happy. I wash the blanket every other day because they pee so much.
The pigs do seem quite pleased! We are constantly picking up poops too but we are used to that part! We are back to washing 1 of the 3 sections every day again like when we had fleece before.
Aweee you are so delicate, I remember myself mad trying to move my guinea pigs and they kicking my hand out cuz they wanted lay on the floor with their big ass while I was cleaning up.
I have 6 sows in a 24 sq ft pen. I love to sit in it while I clean because it’s on the floor. One of my younger sows Callie likes to crawl up my pant leg and crawl all over me while I clean up. I call her my little helper!

Gurl, I had to make bedding (fleece) because my BFF got me new Guinea pig for my bday. 🥰 I love my piggies so much. So now we have two piggies, Steven (shes a girl) and Oden (our newest member). So I'm using up the rest of the paper bedding on Steven and then I'm switching her to fleece. I also got her a bigger cage/home. Oden loves hes home. Great video 💙🐝💙
My piggy sadly passed away on June 5th, I was heartbroken I never thought that having a piggy would bring so much join into my life but he did. I miss him very much and gave him all the love that i could while he was here. If you want a Guinea pig i 100% recommend lol they are the best🥰. Rest in peace Gipson😇

I dream often about guinea pigs. I had two with my kids and they lived for nearly seven years. We dont know why, maybe they had a happy preppy life. They are really funny and if you spend a lot of time with them, they learn some tricks. Meerschweinchen is the german word. Because they came over the ocean. It means translaate seapigs

I have tried everything - at present, use disposable absorbent litter - a few handfuls - covered loosely with light, dry hay. Then a furry slipper to perch on, plus water and food bowl. Put a small cover on top of cage so they feel more safe. I've used bathmats, fleece blankets, as well as paper, but the constant washing was too much. Now i just tip the waste into a hole in the garden to become manure, and wash the cage before putting in new "floor".
I love watching guinea pigs during cleaning because they’re so curious. The bedding is new so they’re slightly confused. It’s so cute!

I had bedding for a while and I find it so much cheaper and easier to clean with Fleece liner and you will get your money worth in it .
