The Mass Effect series literally changed my life... its my favourite game series by a mile, the writing and characters are amazing, and they stay with you for so long after you finish playing. Ive had pets named Garrus and Tali, and i name most of my characters in other games after ME characters. If anyone hasn't played these games they owe it to themselves to experience it
You’re so not alone man. Mass effect had the same effect on me. It changed how I saw games and left such a string impression on me. It was so adventurous and felt so beautiful that it’s permanently in my heart. Not too many games let alone trilogies do that. The legendary edition was amazing too. Very excited to continue the journey in the new game. I just hope Sheppard comes back and it’s the same woman who does the voice.
I thought this game was boring. I care more about the gameplay then just talking to npcs all the time. It's a fucking talking simulator. I got bored after play 6 hours of it. Overrated
He ain’t wrong, playing the Legendary Edition for the 1st time through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the Xbox Series X was a breathtaking experience. I now understand why so many people treasure this game series so near and dear to their hearts. I was originally thinking of getting the OG trilogy on Origin on PC, but thankfully, the Legendary Edition arrived to make things so much smoother.
I had never played the trilogy before, when ME3 came out my only contact with it was of people complaining about the ending on forums on the internet. I'm a huge fan of Dragon Age, but I was never interested in space media other than the Halo games so I always dismissed it. When MELE dropped on Game Pass I gave it a shot , it took a little bit to get me on board with the lore and such but once I got into it... I'm so attached to the series all of a sudden, it's incredible storytelling. I'm through with my first full playthrough and I started it all over again already.
Same for me, I played the first game a few times but couldn’t get invested with the context of “well the ending is gonna suck so what’s the point” and last year I finally jumped in and I loved all three games. Wish I hadn’t listened to all the internet hate and just jumped in sooner. Mass Effect 2 is one of my favorite games of all time now
@@udontknowme00 Yup yup, 2012 forums were wild with the mass effect hate lol I'm glad now I can see there's a lot more to the community than "ending bad"
I played the Mass Effect trilogy for the first time in my life when it came to Gamepass in January and it became one of my favorite games of all time, it really is a wonderful experience
ME1 is my favourite. Adept without global cooldowns. Ammo mods causing floating bodies to disintegrate red, green, or blue letting me know which teammate got the killing blow...brilliant.
To top it off its the only game im comfortable to call an rpg in the trilogy. 2 and 3 are simply action games while andromeda did attempt to tote the line a bit better in that aspect.
Replayed the trilogy last month for the first time since 2014. Back then i thought they were good games but i wasnt too amazed by them but decided to play the remasters and holy shit man, they're now some of my favorite games ever, especially 2. I even bought the mass effect complete comics book cause i needed more from mass effect lol.
I think my favorite part is how they went back and gave a purpose to some of the stuff from ME1 in ME3. Let's break it down. Get C-Sec to pull Rita out of the bar. Visit Conrad all three times/Save Conrad in ME2. Collect all of the ancient Asari writings scattered across the galaxy. Buy a specific store license that doesn't actually do anything. In ME3, if you have done Conrad's stuff from 1 and 2. you have to help Conrad one more time by dealing with a Cerberus agent. The agent takes a shot at Shepard but Conrad jumps in the way. Rita, if you pulled her out of the bar, disables the gun so Conrad lives. LATER Conrad has blueprints for a piece of tech that will help with the war effort but they are written in ancient Asari. Translate them with the ancient Asari writings and find out that the plans are too close to an existing patent which requires the license. All that for one small boost to your War Assets but still a fun thing that they went back and pulled together.
I love how convoluted this chain of events is for what should be an inconsequential NPC. Also, something you missed (that I'm pretty sure is also required) is you (may?) have to help the contractor on Feros (Gavin Hossle) in ME1. Part of the conversation with Conrad involves calling him up to get more info.
Mass Effect was my favourite of the series. The story, the choices, the characters, the villains were all put together in a way that was so far beyond anything that came before! It was just so amazing! The first time you meet Sovereign was both epic and terrifying all at once! That voice, his superiority and the disdain in his tone were incredible!
That first Sovereign encounter is something that will stay with you forever. There's an oppressive sense of dread that's almost sickening, like watching a massive tornado approach. BioWare at their absolute peak.
Absolutely. ME1 LE is such a must play now. The shooting still isn't the best experience, but pretty much everything is so much better than the old version, and honestly ME1 has the best story. This just makes me want for another Mass Effect, and it's ages away, even more so considering DA:D is releasing at some point HOPEFULLY next year.
Currently on my 7th full playthrough and second playthrough of legendary edition. Only 20% of the way through the first game but it still feels like a brand new and exciting game everytime I play it and the two sequels. These games are one of a kind and very rare to find any as good anymore. I pick Liara most playthroughs but I'm switching it up to Liara or Ashley for the first game and then Miranda for 2 and 3! Let me know below who you guys usually romance?
@@FireSlash722 I romanced her in 1 playthrough and it was one of the most meaningful romances in any game I've played. Really felt like two characters that opened up everything to each other. Very good option!
When I played ME1 on the Legendary Edition for the first time, I was amazed by the upgrades they made, but I also felt this amazing nostalgia. It had been years since I played the OG ME1, so replaying it, even in a newer form, made me real happy and reminded me of my childhood.
Drew Karpyshyn is my favorite video game writer! Mass Effect is my gold standard for intetactive storytelling. Besides the writing BioWare did an excellent job at bringing multiple well crafted pieces together (things like enviroments, music, atmosphere, alien designs and voice acting).
Drew Karphshyn was the best writer for ME1 and ME2. It’s a shame he left Bioware (still don’t know why) and him leaving is why we never got the Dark Matter Ending and storyline.
ME1 feels the most like an old lived-in-universe. Going to these mostly barren worlds and finding signs of battle or war medals makes the first game for me (beyond the story of course). Small touches will make or break Starfield.
I've just started with the Legendary edition. Having finished all three and most DLC on both X360 and PC in the past. So far I like what I see. The support for HDR is most noticeable. As it makes a huge difference with the graphical fidelity.
I have just started Mass Effect Legendary Edition on PS5 and I'm impressed by the gameplay and especially the writing. Excited to play through this series
I like every Mass Effect for their own features. 2, compared to 1, got a bit more cinematic and "popcorn", and 3 doubled on that. Nothing wrong, I love them all. That being said, ME1 is just magical. More athmospheric, lonely and contained than the other 2. I will never forget that conversation with Vigil (with the Vigil track playing) in the last steps of ME1. No popcorn, just an amazing revelation at the right time. ME1 feels like DragonAge: Origins to me, where the events happening are epic and what happens is big, but has its feet on the ground all the time. There's a lot of discovery and events matter, but u always feel the "world" is bigger than the events that contains. The scale/proportion control is just perfect on both games.
ME legendary edition was quite possibly the best purchase I’ve made, game-wise, in years. Probably since Witcher 3 & it’s expansions. While the gunplay in ME1 isn’t nearly as good as 2 & 3 (which are exceptional shooters on par w/Gears) it’s a superior RPG & much more of an organic role-playing experience than 2 or 3 (which are, imo, more action-cover based shooters). It’s a sin to skip ME1 just because the cover mechanics aren’t as good (still, I don’t know why they didn’t change going into cover to be like the 2nd & 3rd games).
Mass Effect 2 might be my favorite game of all time. It’s one of the games that made me fall in love with RPGs along with Oblivion, Dragon Age, and Fallout 3.
It is such a great series, really the only low points of the series is ME1's mako missions and ME3's ending, other than that it is perfectly amazing. The game does a wonderful job at making you interested in its world and characters, it truly is one of those games everyone should experience at least once. I also think it aged fairly well.
Always loved ME1 better than the rest. Impactful choices and branching storylines that matter. Also fun combat with physics. Using biotics and explosive shotgun rounds was a blast.
The legendary edition made me realise once again why this is my favourite trilogy in all forms of media. Played through it twice during Australia’s lockdown and it made it fly by (4 months). Loved every second with it and plan on playing through it and andromeda again soon.
I missed the Mass Effect series but last year I picked up the Legendary Edition and its now one of my all time favorites. The Ship, the crew, the continuing story, I loved all of it. I've never cared for a companion the way I did for Garrus. At the end of the trilogy I truly felt as though we had made it through together by the skin of our teeth.
Mass effect 1 is the best hands down. Everything about one is superior. Yes, you get more linear with the other games, but I prefer one from day one. I am also a sniper so that is probably why.
Legendary edition on series x is just a awesome experience coming from day one to now it’s just amazing and one of the best stories lines in gaming ever
I just played through ME1 for the first time since it came out and now as an adult I was absolutely blown away by it. The story, choices, and honestly even the gameplay left me captivated. The world building is excellent I can’t wait to play the other 2 . Honestly I took a break after I beat the first one and still have yet to start ME2 because I wanted to let it digest for awhile.
Matty you have done it again, I’m an current going to go buy mass effect legendary edition and give it my first playthrough! Kotor was a blast and can’t wait for this journey!
Mass Effect 1 has always been my favorite game of the series. It was actually the last of the trilogy I played. I started with 2 then bought 3 at launch, after which I decided to go all the way back to the beginning of the journey. Immediately fell in love with it, and Legendary Edition has made it even easier for me to recommend to people. Without a doubt in the top 5 of my favorite games of all time
I actually took your advice 2 weeks ago. I'm on Mass Effect 3 right now and you're correct you should start with the first game because it sets the table for all that is to come.
Currently going through the OG Mass Effect trilogy via Legendary Edition on my Xbox Series X for the very first time/blind right now. I finished Mass Effect 1 and 2. Currently if I were to guess 1/3 through Mass Effect 3. I can't give my opinion for the 3rd sense i haven't finished it, but between the 1st and 2nd. I think my current favorite is Mass Effect 1. Mass Effect 2 being a close 2nd. Reasons being the Role Playing as a whole is stronger, but for what I've played so far, I may like Mass Effect 3 the best. I think if I were to rank it now, Mass Effect 3 >1 >2. All three are close, no distant positions.
Well yeah. THAT bioware, doesnt exist anymore. THOSE people, are gone. The bioware that exists today is comprised entirely of new younger people who have no idea what biowares original purpose and intent was.
Y'all NEED to get the LE for PC. Seriously. The mods make the games and the trilogy as a whole SO much more replayable, just for the basic community patches alone that fix so many old and new bugs that Bioware never bothered to fix. But then there's like so much more amazing content mods people have made that make the games feel even more immersive and just overall more fun.
Yeah man, playing with mods for the very first time and it makes you never to want to return to the vanilla experience ever, even if many of those are still in the works for the LE rn. Downside is that the game that needs the less at its core, ironically is ME1, on the other hand, ME3 is a lose battle since ever🤷♂️😒
The Mass Effect series was such an amazing journey. You just felt so invested in the ME Universe, it's story and especially the characters. When I first finished the series and the credits rolled, I just sat there thinking wow what a ride, what the hell do I do now.
I completely agree with you. I recently played the mass effect legendary trilogy for the first time about 6 months ago, and I gotta say I was sleeping on this series. The first one is what really drew me in though, I loved the story the characters and the choices. For about 2 months I played through all the games 3 or 4 times. I think mass effect 3 gets unwarranted hate though. It wrapped up the story, and maybe it wasn't as diverse as people would like but I personally didn't have a problem with any of the endings. The first game is by far my favorite though, the writing in that game is gold.
I remember being blown away by Mass Effect 1 when I played it for the first time when it released as a teenager. Then of course I played the others but the first one is always my favorite. I played through the remastered trilogy last year but I’m starting again tonight. I always do the paragon choices but I’m finally good be more darkside this time lol
Good to see ME1 getting some love. Is my favorite in the series. Been gaming since the Commodore 64 days so graphics and some gameplay mechanics have never bothered me. Love the story ! My biggest choice in ME 1...Wrex on Virmire.
ME1 has always been my favourite for the deep RPG mechanics that disappeared with ME2 becoming a 3rd person shooter in effect and ME3 being, well…ME3. Plus the recruit missions are all excellent, the Mako exploration you name it. Wicked good game.
finished the trilogy last night. This was by far one of the best experiences i've ever had playing a series. There are so many good moments in this game (wish I could say them but spoilers).I've never gotten attached to characters in a game the way these games got me attached to Liara, Garrus, Tali, Wrex, etc. This is also the only series of games i've played that felt almost "MCU" like. The last couple hours of each of these games was like fighting an Avengers level threat. Also experiencing these games with all the DLC is a must. They add so much and the Leviathan and Citadel DLC for ME3 honestly has some of the best moments in the entire series. ME3 might actually be my favorite, it was an emotional experience that i'll never forget and I thank Bioware for letting me experience it. This trilogy has left a void in my soul now that it is finished because I know it's going to be a looonnngg time before I get to experience something like this again.
My love for Mass Effect trilogy is borderline pathologic I am afraid. Hearing Uncharted Worlds probably shouldn´t cause this kind of emotional wave. I promised myself to wait as long as possible before another playthrough. Not sure if I can hold for long now. Help.
Had a blast with my first play through and getting to know the series and the community, right now with my second play through with mods and honestly have been such a blast, playing the legendary edition from my ps4 to my computer is there are huge differences and the legendary edition (base game without mods) felt sloppy, so glad I got into the modding community this trilogy is one of my all time favorites hands down.
Honestly, ME1 is probably my favorite of the trilogy. And you didn't even highlight Noveria in the video. That is one of my favorite locations in gaming.
Considering how badly the vast majority of games age, it's a testament to the writing and character development that Mass Effect holds up so well. Good 'review'! Cheers
I’m playing for the first time now, was a Starfield fan for about 100 hours of gameplay. It’s going to take mod support on console to bring me back. I did try out No Man’s Sky and it’s definitely a good game. I think I only put like 30 or so hours into it. I just stopped because that game is too much. You can’t ever beat it and it’ll never end. Mass Effect is brilliant. The writing and acting and everything is amazing. Just consider this game is from 2007 and the mechanics are pretty on par with Starfield. I’m 25 hours in and just saved the Queen. I’m still hearing my companions say new things to each other and to me. It’s amazing and refreshing. I’m very excited to continue playing ME1 and the rest!
So, I played Mass Effect for the first time about 10 hours before this video was uploaded. These are my thoughts on the 3hrs of the legendary edition I played, I really liked the character background stuff, I did not like my gun being taken out when in combat on it's own I don't like any action like that being automated, the cover system and combat was fun though. I got over not being able to jump pretty fast, the dialogue scenes went on for too long and I just wanted to take control of my character, once in the citadel though the game was awesome. I forgot what they told me to do and just ran around speaking to new aliens and getting my codex filled out, It was a very natural open world feeling. I'd see some statue of an alien I hadn't seen across the river and ran over there to kind out it's called a Krogan. I heard some npcs complain about some race joining the council then came across one of those aliens, some army dudes were bro talking about some consort which reminded me there was something called "consort chambers" on my map, I went there and some blue alien started touching my chest and saying they had been watching me so I got the frick out of there because she was creepy. Then I met the Hanar which are my favorite, I got attacked by assassins found some mystery about these bug "keeper aliens" and so much more. Definitely going to play again.
Great video! Thank you for making/sharing. S Tier gaming series, so very happy that the Legendary Edition exists, and Ashley Williams is the best character (even with the writer changes in/for ME3).
I absolutely LOVED the Legendary Edition. I played ME for this first time this year, and WOW. I’m so glad I started with Mass Effect 1, I had tried the OG version of ME1 three years ago and didn’t get into it. But with this Legendary run, I loved playing all three, and enjoyed reveling in how Bioware had improved and honed all three games. This is easily my favorite game series of all time. While finishing 3 I went back and stared a new run of 1, and that did soften the blow of the end. Mass Effect fan for life. Plus, after driving the Nomad in Andromeda (and Hammerhead in ME 2) I even love the Mako. ME1 is like comfort food, and I love seeing decisions big and small play out over all three games.
I somehow never played any Mass Effect other than a few hours of the 1st a few years ago but I didn’t commit. Now before Starfield came out, I knew I needed to give Mass Effect a chance. I’ve been hooked! I’ve just finished Mass Effect 2 and am just about to start 3, after spending 100+ hours in the first two games combined. I love the series already, and can’t wait to play the final entry. What a game series this is, it’s such an adventure!
I couldn't get into it years ago either. PC version was too clunky, no controller compatibility, and the duck and cover 3rd person combat took me a long time to get a handle on. Legendary Edition cleans so much of that up, squad members now behave intelligently, it's so much better now.
After playing the legendary edition within the last year, mass effect 1 is the only game that really lets you explore the galaxy. Being able to go to completely random solar systems and finding planets with resources and locations or quests felt really cool (even if the actual gameplay isn’t fantastic). Wish they had refined it more in subsequent entries instead of doing away with it in favor of the scanning system.
Mass Effect changed my lifez literally. When I first picked up the game as a kid and played through ME1 and ME2 in 2011, the hype for ME3 was surreal. I played nonstop, multiple playthroughs, totally enamoured with this world Bioware had created. Mass Effect, especially ME1, is easily the greatest introduction to fictional universe I have seen this century, in league with Star Trek or Star Wars... At least it was, but it's been clear for a long time that Bioware didn't truly realize the value of what they created. I still enjoyed ME Andromeda, but by ME3 it was noticeable they did not intend to continue developing that universe.
As a gamer that has been Nintendo up until the last month. I finally got an Xbox series S. My first Xbox system. I haven’t had a playstation system since ps3, your new addition to the channel of doing these review videos will be a big help for me. There’s a lot that I missed out on. The entire Xbox one/PS4 catalog for sure and a good chunk of the PS3/Xbox 360 catalog as well. Love my Xbox. I bought the Mass Effect trilogy optimized for the Xbox series. I’ve got to play it yet.
I have just beaten the first one - I have never played this series before - and went completely blind, as a soldier with strong moral and fair ethos. I took a look at the trophy list and noticed I missed quite some stuff, let alone dialogue choices. I am starting a new career as an Adept and will go completely baddie to see where the dialogues lead. Very interesting. Very replayable indeed.
I still haven’t gotten through replaying ME1 in the Legendary Edition. So many great games new & old that I’ve been trying to balance I have an incredibly short attention span
Hey Matty you may not see this, but I am still sitting on your last post. Just wanted to shoot out again that we care about you, not just as a creator but as a person. We've been with you pre Fallout 4 days and appreciate the content that you do. Have a wonderful day brother
I tried playing mass effect 1 a couple years ago on xbox and couldnt get into cause of the gameplay but I started the legendary edition yesterday on pc and am loving it so far. Perfect timing for this video
I just started this series this past weekend and I'm digging it alot! It reminds me a lot of jade empire which I like, looking forward to playing the others in the legacy collection
I have played all mass effect games many times and kotor 1 and 2 many times but never played jade empire is it good and if you compare it to kotor How good ?
For me mass effect 2 is without any doubts the best one, because it had an amazing gameplay and story. When you look at mass effect 1 you can see (at least in my opinion) that it has just fine gameplay and a great story, where m3 is the opposite. And obviously mass effect andromeda is the worst, who would have thought🤔
I gave mass effect 1 a shot when it came out, I was like 8 years old. Young 8 year old me was not interested, thinking maybe I gotta give this franchise another shot. Mayhaps when I get my steam deck I will get the legendary edition and try it out there. Would love to pick it up THIS summer sale but I think Imma have to wait for another sale to hit instead
I've been hearing great things about this series for years, but I never really got the opportunity to play it. The Legendary Edition was on sale for $12 or so a few weeks ago, so I figured the time had finally come. I just started playing ME1 today and I'm loving it. Definitely a better decision than blowing $80 on Starfield.
I agree and because of many reasons . 1 , i played it when it first came out and was absolutly in love with it as also i just finished Oblivion ! For the first time around the same time . 2 , i never experiacnced a game like it as i was a playstaion / xbox owner where rpgs were not in my scope at all really . So yeah that is my thoughts :-)
Just finished my first playthrough of ME2. Only 2 people survived and i didn't like them in the first place... yikes. Not really sure i want to play 3 with no characters left.
Mr. Matty! I think I speak for most people when I say that we who watch you really watch YOU. If you go where your passion leads you it’s the best entertainment we can get from you. We’re not watching your content. We’re watching you. As long as you do what you want to do, your true fans will get what we want because we share your passion. Trolls are camouflaged. You will never know them from the real ones. Just take to heart the nice comments and ignore the bad ones. You won’t learn from negative comments. They will only eat your creativity. U go girl!
The only problems I had with the Mako was that it was kinda awkward with the maneuvering it and it was balls slow. It is a beast though with traversing terrain.
Mass effect 2 always used to be my favourite but having played the legendary edition a few times I actually think I like mass effect 1 and 3 more than it now. I think it's because being forced to join cerberus never seems to quite fit to me as well as lots of the original companions appearing but not joining you.
I just finished and plat’d the full ME trilogy a few days ago and honestly it’s easily one of my favorite games of all time now. The story was excellent. Lore is deep. It was such a great time. Really get why People love this series and honored to be apart of that group now. Will say that I actually LOVE ME1, more so than 2 and tied w 3.
i just started playing mass effect for the first time. been a gamer a longtime but I missed this series. and wow its super addicting. im on the first game and I killed 2hours in a flash lol.
I liked exploring planets in the Mako in Mass Effect 1. People say it’s boring but think about it, it’s realistic. If u think u will go to Mars and find a mall…not gonna happen. It will be empty with some resources to find. I loved it.
I can not wait to play this never played the trilogy and I am really pumped that it has a bit of a modern day glow up and fixes some small controls issues from the original..would love to know your thoughts on greedfall getting an announced sequel your video inspired me to play greedfall and it was so so good can not wait to see how they come back with the sequel maybe revisiting a talk about spiders and greedfall would be a great conversation was hoping microsoft gave them some funding for 2 and let them go wild w a better budget thought as a beginning greedfall was fantastic!
I remember seeing the cover for Mass Effect 2 on Steam years ago, clicked on it and thought to myself: "Hmm, this game looks interesting, but I should try the first one before". And boy am I glad I did just that, game was rough around the edges, it felt annoying at times, but the story it told as an introduction to the world was pretty good.
I played the original trilogy on the 360 easily a dozen times. Legendary edition coming out shortly after getting a good pc was the perfect excuse to experience the game with mods for the first time.
Just bought the legendary one ea store sale...then steam had it for half that (12/6 euro). It's worth the 6 euro because I can play this if the kids are on steam.
The fact the lead narative from deus ex & Guardian of the Galaxy is doing ME5. Freaking YES. GofT was sooooo good. Hopefully we'll have the same "teamates" vibes in ME5. ME1 is the best at make you discover the universe. Sovereign's dialogue ? Everyone freaks out when you learn about revelations at that time. I agree 100%, ME trilogy is the ONLY one that was sucessfull with the saves imports. What a genius idea.
Another great video Matty. I've been craving mass effect lately with all the starfield talk. I think I'm going to go ahead and start another playthrough
The Mass Effect series literally changed my life... its my favourite game series by a mile, the writing and characters are amazing, and they stay with you for so long after you finish playing. Mass Effect was amazing….. right up until the end. Then the extended cut made me happy.
I'm jumping to xbox soon and this trilogy is on must play list.
I thought this game was boring. I care more about the gameplay then just talking to npcs all the time. It's a fucking talking simulator. I got bored after play 6 hours of it. Overrated

Well said
It's awesome after all these years seeing people new to the series discover it. Such a magical experience these three games are
Same here finished them recently Male Shepherd x Tali fan
I never stopped playing 😂 Mass Effect Trilogy is the GOAT

The Legendary Edition was so much with all the DLC included, playing as a MaleShep and FemShep is such a good experience
I saw content I never played!
I played the Mass Effect trilogy for the first time in my life when it came to Gamepass in January and it became one of my favorite games of all time, it really is a wonderful experience

Jenna* (Rita is her sister). But yeah, that was pretty cool.
Wow. Didnt know about this as I've never bothered to collect all those texts
Love the clunky RPG mechanics from ME1. It’s genuinely my favorite of the three.
Me1 has a certain charm to it, it's only fault is the combat which isn't even that bad in the LE. It'll always be the best mass effect imo.
@@DillonCattersonAlso the companion relationships are more developed in 2 and 3, which makes them more preferable to me
Mass Effect was my favourite of the series.
Tali😉
@@FireSlash722 I romanced her in 1 playthrough and it was one of the most meaningful romances in any game I've played. Really felt like two characters that opened up everything to each other. Very good option!
@@MaxxadTV agreed
I romance Garrus every damn time. He is the best romance option in the trilogy and the relationship feels the most genuine.

When I played ME1 on the Legendary Edition for the first time, I was amazed by the upgrades they made, but I also felt this amazing nostalgia. It had been years since I played the OG ME1, so replaying it, even in a newer form, made me real happy and reminded me of my childhood.
I love all 3 of these games but ME1 is a masterpiece to me. This trilogy is amazing but even better if you play it from the very beginning.
Agreed!
So sad. I absolutely loved Mass Effect 1. I really need to get legendary and play through it all. So awesome they redid everything.
The legendary edition made me realise once again why this is my favourite trilogy in all forms of media. Played through it twice during Australia’s lockdown and it made it fly by (4 months). Loved every second with it and plan on playing through it and andromeda again soon.
One of the best Mass Effect games, one of my favourite games of all time. There's a lot to love a out it honestly.
Got me into scifi gaming 🙌🏾

Jealous... Have fun XD
Without a doubt in the top 5 of my favorite games of all time
I’m happy they remastered ME1 and refined it’s wonky controls and all that. If I didn’t know any better I’d say ME1 was a remake of sorts.

I loved ME1 but the legendary edition made a lot of quality of life improvements, recently started another playthrough.
I don't think BioWare will ever surpass what they did with the original Mass Effect trilogy.
Surpassing the greatest video games of all time is a high bar.
“Challenge not accepted. We suck now.” - Bioware.
Currently on my first play through on mass effect 2 and it’s pretty amazing
Holy shit man big W
When i got it on ps+ i started to play the game again and made all 3 platina trophys its a great game to go back to...
The last mission in mass effect 2 is just perfect
Honestly, ME1 is probably my favorite of the trilogy. And you didn't even highlight Noveria in the video. That is one of my favorite locations in gaming.
Play all 3 original Mass Effect games or the legendary edition. Great pieces of art here
Considering how badly the vast majority of games age, it's a testament to the writing and character development that Mass Effect holds up so well.
Finally the first ME gets some of the recognition it deserves, still my favorite in the series

Right when I needed some more motivation to continue ME: Legendary Edition, Matty uploads this video
Mass Effect 3 is my third favorite game ever behind Dragon Age Origins and KotOR 2; no other game has hit me as hard emotionally.
I've just started Playing Mass Effect 1 on an Xbox 360 my friend is letting me borrow, and it has been a terrific time!!
Just played through the trilogy again. Love it more and more everytime
I just dived into Legendary Edition. Prior to this, my last Mass Effect playthrough was finally beating the 3rd game about 3 years ago. I’m psyched.
I just finished the trilogy a few days ago. It's an awesome collection. Now I'm onto a second playthrough of Andromeda.
So many great games new & old that I’ve been trying to balance
I have an incredibly short attention span
Got the legendary edition and wow it's really good.
LOVE these videos. Don't love the super-minor-update-OMGweneedtotalkaboutthis!!! videos. Keep these coming!
Literally replaying the trilogy just to finish romancing tali, 10/10 trilogy highly recommend
@Tacitus Kilgore already did that on my first playthrough of the trilogy
For me mass effect 2 is without any doubts the best one, because it had an amazing gameplay and story. When you look at mass effect 1 you can see (at least in my opinion) that it has just fine gameplay and a great story, where m3 is the opposite. And obviously mass effect andromeda is the worst, who would have thought🤔
I’ve been hoping for a Matty review of Mass Effect for so long! I’m so glad you made this. I’d love to see videos for the second and third games too!
Sweet! Need a distraction while I FINALLY migrate my OS to the M.2 drive I have had for like 2 months lol
I’ve only ever experienced ME1 on the PS3. I’m very excited to see what the rest of the series is about.
U go girl!
Hello commander Betty, 😬. That’s what the subtitles said 😬. Just started a second play of the LE and it’s still gold.
The only problems I had with the Mako was that it was kinda awkward with the maneuvering it and it was balls slow. It is a beast though with traversing terrain.
Revisiting all the mass effects, decided to buy all DLC’s! Excited!

I loved it.
For real, I didn’t mind the mako and the world pulls you in like you are exploring the galaxy, wish there were more games like that
I can not wait to play this never played the trilogy and I am really pumped that it has a bit of a modern day glow up and fixes some small controls issues from the original..would love to know your thoughts on greedfall getting an announced sequel your video inspired me to play greedfall and it was so so good can not wait to see how they come back with the sequel maybe revisiting a talk about spiders and greedfall would be a great conversation was hoping microsoft gave them some funding for 2 and let them go wild w a better budget thought as a beginning greedfall was fantastic!
Came back to this after being disappinted in Starfield. You nailed it with your prediction.
Good call 🤷🏾♂️
Just started the legendary edition. Finally!
Gonna miss BioWare of old😢
