Doc Scott is one of the most influential producers of this age of underground electronic music. NHS (Disco Mix) is still my favourite choon and it's what got me into Hardcore in the early 90s. Such an interesting story and journey through time and music! Nothing but love and respect for the Doc! Bless up Ron for this!
What an incredible journey Doc Scott has had! I respect him for speaking out about his dark times and how he overcame them. Big up for acknowledging the role of distribution with the scene. He's such a humble man and a reflective person. Great discussion and advice given. Looking forward to the 100th release. Bless!
Doc Scott earned his stripes on the scene, Coventry's finest.
Doc and Man Parris. Original Cov from way back. Loved the sets
What a lovely bloke, honest to the core. Glad he's doing well.
What an honest & open podcast. Scotty grab your second opportunity mate. You've got a lot of love & support behind you sir.
Big up yourself & Ron too for bringing these podcasts 🙌
Ah man I'm in tears as a PTSD sufferer for over 40 years this hits home I felt exactly like you doc Scott had the pills in my hand ready to end it this was in 2000 I took myself to a mental health clinic and was under a psychiatric nurse for 3 years it's the best thing I ever done it's still hard at times but everyday is a good day stay strong bro ❤️ one love keep on fighting
Bless you I hope your coping better now ❤️❤️
@Jdreviewsldn the struggle is real and never goes away I had to forgive the people who stabbed me as it was the only way I could move forward you imagine forgiving 2 people who wronged you in so many ways but I had too and I instantly felt better it was like a huge weight and burden was lifted off my shoulders what doesn't kill you makes you stronger I have my moments and I know I'm a never going to be free of it but every morning I wake up Is a good day so i choose the angel in my head and not the devil if you know what I mean that's how I cope thanks for your response respect x
@@t.wilson7578 one love fella ❤
Respect to Scott. I'm glad he not only got help, but has the strength to talk about his experiences.
"Coventry's finest". First time I saw Scottie djing would be 1990/1 at Shelley's in Stoke, Amnesia House night on Saturdays. Still listen to him now from the early Future Beats Radio Show to DNBvid streams and the new Future Beats shows streamed on twitch. An absolute legend who has helped soundtrack 30+ years of my life for which I'm truly thankful. Much love and respect for Scottie, thanks man 😊
Much love Scott for the brutal honesty, I respect your vulnerability, your music, mixes and talent you push!
It's mad how alike Doc Scott and Goldie look these days. They both have similar mannerisms and ways of expressing themselves.
This man made so many classics - NHS, Drumz, Blue Skies, Tokyo Dawn, Swarm, Unofficial Ghost, Shadow Boxing...
He somehow managed to create exciting tunes that were bare bones, simple and carefully crafted; no fluff, everything is there for a reason, just a few elements that nailed the vibe. That's a really hard thing to pull off and imo way more interesting and enjoyable to listen to than the more technical, layered d&b of the post-2000s.
100% agree about Scottie's tunes
Pumping out NHS in the midst of a summer sunset in a park is the one
Totally agree, the emotional response triggered from some of those tunes listed.... that's what music and art is supposed to be about, not technical wizrdry. The Pulse is a great tune, sure, but it doesn't get talked about like The Unnofical Ghost or Shadow Boxing.
What he did during COVID showed why he’s a legend. He didn’t flinch, he just picked up and carried DNB through those years, showcasing an inventive 3hr selection week after week because he cares about it. That’s who Doc Scott is.
Well said!
Love from Canada! Who doesn’t remember the first time The Drums dropped at a party? ✊🏻DS, your music and DJ skills inspire us, now we can add humility and honesty ❤️
Big up for the international support 👊🏾
Great podcast. He let me remix Shadow Boxing twice having never met me and off of one phone call! and tbh I was barely ready to take it on but it was a privilege i'll never take for granted. Legend
Ive got one of those mixes on clear vinyl its dare i say it…. Even better than original!! Great work!
Ez bro hope you’re well.
Shit day at work, back home and a new London Something podcast .... And with the legend Doc Scott!!!! #31Records
Hope your day got better 🙏🏾
Man!!! DEEP. Scottie I grew up to you, Randall, rider, ss, Andy C you guys were my life. Everyday I listen to metalheadz sets still. Hearing about you in those ways was sad, we all have a life journey with ups and downs. But know this, you defined a generation, you made and released music that has never been beaten. You sir are bonafide!!!! Your sets n tunes got me through life. Although I lived in London most my life I grew up near you and I’ve djed in numerous places, but growing up in an area with legends such as you, ratty n fallout fuelled my desire. I cannot believe anyone could diss you on a forum!!! You helped make DnB what it was!!! You are a legend, Ron is a legend!!!! I hope your next years are bliss n positive.
Ron if you are reading, GET Ratty on!!!!! BTW great interview mate.
More recently I try to keep up with replies and responses. Thanks for the support and Ratty’s name does keep popping up a lot.
@@LondonSomething1994 the London guys were the superstars, but ratty was the probably the most integral part. Just my opinion. Thank you for your reply. PEACE
Yes yes Ron, big ups for getting Scottie on, original don right here. Keep up the good work Ron & LS team 💪🏻
Much appreciated 💯
This one of the most emotional, soul affecting interviews I’ve had the privilege to witness.
His story is so powerful! Glad you enjoyed it.
@@LondonSomething1994Keep it going Ron. They’re getting better & better!
Big up Scott and Ron. Massive respect to Scott for his openness on mental health. I remember he did an interview during COVID, which was an eye opener and helped
Part of the affliction of being a great Artist is being your own worst critic,it is that that drives you. Love yourself like we love you.Respect and love 2 Doc Scott and Dj Ron ❤ 🙌 🙏
Respect and Love to you too ❤️💯
Wow never new doc was mixed race ❤
Eh! I was as shocked as you and I’ve known him for 30+ years ❤️
@@LondonSomething1994 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMFG! Just found out Doc Scott made "Shadow Boxing"!!! WTF man! Never new that🎉🎉🎉
I used to head over to Bang-In Tunes most Saturday mornings with my good friend Michael Patterson, who worked in the shop. I'll never forget the day Doc Scott came in with a test pressing of the original mix of Here Come the Drumz. Thanks for a great episode. Always good to see the Midlands / Coventry being represented. The Eclipse really was the centre of the universe in '91. Peace and Love from NZ.
Bang in tunes, fibre optic and Blackmarket were my favourites ever PERIOD
You know this! 👊
Doc Scott is a real one. Some people hold back in these interviews but not this one. Really interesting to hear.
This would be a nice segway into a Calibre interview.
Agreed re Calibre
Didn’t he rip off youngsters on music technology lessons? Not quite right that.
Incredible interview absolutely loved it ❤.
Keep On Rolling Scott ya bad bro !!
I feel like I've lived this life story. Thank you for telling it 🩷
Wicked interview Ron. Big respect to Doc Scott, total legend of the scene 👍
Much appreciated
One of my favourite Djs
SCOTTIE! Big up don DJ Ron for bringing thru yet another legend of the game. Amazing podcast series Ron, maximum respect due. 👊🏽
Inspirational stuff, nice to hear about the solidarity from Goldie. Doc Scott gave us some great tunes, Drums, NHS, some great memories, seems like a good human, glad he made it through the adversity. Intelligence and empathy from Ron, great work 💥
Thank you 🙏🏾
Much love, been a fan since 1992
Ron’s back with another legendary artist. Love these podcasts - please don’t stop them. So educational and inspirational 🔥
Thanks to you for supporting and enjoying the podcasts 💯
Just watched it, great interview. The pandemic sucked for us all but dnbvid-19 every Saturday at 3pm EST, 3-4 hours of new music, was something to look forward to every week. It was beautiful. Long live Future Beats, big up Scott.
RIP MC Conrad 😢
Sad day in our history

Yes Scottie, much love from NZ
Ohh such a great bloke..love hearing the real stories behind it all.
Damn it tho he didnt get to explain how he made them first tunes 🙄😂
Soo good how he really got to "pay it back" in lockdown..when people were struggling 😢❤❤😊
Lovin da lively comments. Ravin crew in da house early 📣📣📣 🎤🎤🎤
Beam me up Scottie the Doc is in the house nice one Ron another wicked interview with a legend maximum boost every time💯
Big up 👊🏾
Doc's musicial journey from a youth is identical to mine other than he made it a profession....
My first Doc Scott experience was Nemesis 90....
Doc Scott ❣
This one's massive 🎉❤ I'll be watching later
Missed his show in Edinburgh, hopefully he's back again soon. I'm glad he brought up the fact that in the early days, the new electronic dance music used to clear the dancefloor. Something the majority of these history of dance music documentaries fail to mention. The reality was most people either didn't know how to dance to it or didn't want to be the only person in the club who was while everyone else stood around watching you 😂. Back in those days you could have ended up in a fight 🚨
Here Come the Drums is seminal. It hits a spot no other tune hits. 🫡
Oh yes Ron and LS team do it again !!
…but only with the help of our guests, you the viewers and our very supportive sponsor. I salute you all 🫡
Nice one, Scott is one of the best in the business.
Couldn't agree more!
After listening to the whole interview the manz a legend bjg ups Scotty 🔥💙
deric may and frankie bones were great at the eclipse. Such a ground-breaking club so very fortunate to attend.another great interview ron.👍scottys honesty and openness is quite humbling,
massive respect
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it💯
Cracking interview, that went deep, but good to hear the whole journey. I agree with Ron, if a D&B track came out with Scotties name, it would get snapped up, no doubt.
Deep side Original DNB specialist 👌
Brutally honest! What a great guy.
Your'e a legend sir! You were so important in my love for DnB; while I was at Art College (but running college radio during lesson time on some 1200's).. I mean Shadow Boxing... Come on!!!! Also total credit for your honesty. I heard so much of my own life right back at me. Look after yourself chief and always remember you played your part as much as any of the other greats in this scene & your name will always mean so much to many. Especially those of us who still have late 80's/90's flyers... RESPECT! ;)
Big up Bristol, Catapult Records Cardiff, Herefordshire, Wales Free Party Scene :) United we really did stand
Such a brave and honest interview. Really sad to hear what has happened but very happy it's in the past 👊.
Absolute Legend Doc Scott and excellent interview and great Channel Ron.

Loved Ron's tracks growing up, proper roots jungle with a bunch of character, big ups Ron!
As for Scotty, what can you say, the man sculpted todays DnB from the very hardcore beginning to today.
_The_ Legend.

Behind every strong man they is a strong woman
Exactly

Scottys right, wake up your in a 2nd golden age 💛 enjoy 🔊🔊🔊🔊🥶
Omg sooo true...30yr cycle woohoo❤❤❤
Actually on second thoughts I make him, you and @manna515 right that it is a second golden age 💯
yes! great to see Doc Scott on here.
the edge !"!
Both of you have played the soundtracks to my life in the 90’s especially Doc Scott mashing up my eardrums down in Blue Note Hoxton Square. Every time I’ve seen you I would never have guessed your heritage not that it matters. It’s a real eye opener hearing about your journey and your demons I didn’t realise you were suffering so much I for one was always waiting to hear from you as an artist at the time so it’s not like you had run out of credibility what a shame you couldn’t have been in touch with your fan base but anyway it’s nice to see you pull through. Love and blessings to you both.
Thank you 🙏🏾
Niice proper people dem pon the interview.
The lockdown wkends was amazing man 😂😂😂 getting ready for doc scott and talking to people who was all in the same boat people you will never meet but on the wkends we was all 1 thanks again to the legend ❤

❤❤❤
Big Up Doc Scott! Funny thing is my dad is from Kenya and born in Mombassa! Any way love the podcasts Ron, you have had most my favorite DJ's on, but would really love one with Bukem if possible in the future? Also RIP Conrad!
Agreed re Bukem. 🙏🏾🕊️❤️ Conrad
This is one of the Best interviews I've seen on Here so far. I would say this is the most Honest, Emotional and Transparent one yet.
DOC SCOTT ...Thank You for Truly opening up within in this interview. DJ RON Thanks for Sharing
100% and thanks for being part of the process by watching and listening 💯
Great to listen to one of the homeboys. Coventry was a big player in the early hardcore going into darkside scene and Scotty was a big player in that! Big ups Ron & Scott for going deep in all subjects especially the racial problems back in his youth and drinking/drugs issues later on 👊🏻
Really pleased you enjoyed it. Thanks for the support.
DocScott is a TOTAL Legend - His music is way above the level he thinks it is... I never knew he had such difficult demons going on - Just like the rest of us I suppose. DS tunes play out on my speakers daily and are just a huge part of my life over the years - FarAway is killer - One of the tunes that used to calm me down when I was suffering, Here come the drumz that got me hooked - Big Thanks for all the creativity and music ✊🔥
Top podcast great insight into his life.
Respect.
I find it extremely interesting that no one ever really mentions how satanic the music became in late 92 through to late 93. The combination of the those dark, evil sounding tracks mixed with hard class A drugs was a recipe for disaster! Anyway, thanks for another insightful interview guys, really enjoyed the episode ❤
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it 💯
They do, they just say "when it got dark in 93" lol, it also got very dark in 96/97...
Satanic😂
Beautiful music
@@dj_adam_g_ukand then way darker in 99. I miss that style of music
Outstanding interview. Compelling.
Thanks!
Oh this is really appreciated. We’re so grateful for the support we really are. Thank you 🎁❤️
Strange to hear Scottie down play his skills as musician, responsible for so many classics. Swarm is my fav d n b time of all time.
He’s a very humble man 💯
Too many. Swarm was dark. Shadow boxing remix was over played BUT it’s still in my top 5 it broke the system, it opened the doors for warhead and turbulence to enter
how can this person who produced that Nasty Habits remix of Drumz 95 say he didn't have it in him to produce such high level tunes as the early 2000s crew like BC? :D what a humble geezer. don.
Exactly!!!
Man Parish first real beauty electro track heard, changed me life thrn reggae that was it!
ONE LOVE ❤️ BLESSINGS
Thanks
Thank you so much. We really appreciate all the encouragement so this is a surprise for us and we’re very grateful 🙏🏾
Was looking forward to the next instalment. I loved this, to be open and honest like he was. thank you for this Ron!
