Great podcast. He let me remix Shadow Boxing twice having never met me and off of one phone call! and tbh I was barely ready to take it on but it was a privilege i'll never take for granted. Legend
Got one of them remixes! It’s on 31 records ! And I have the album you did for metalheadz and a 12” on metalheadz !!!! You’re one of a few people who can do the down tempo stuff that I like !!!! Respect !!!
What he did during COVID showed why he’s a legend. He didn’t flinch, he just picked up and carried DNB through those years, showcasing an inventive 3hr selection week after week because he cares about it. That’s who Doc Scott is.
Ah man I'm in tears as a PTSD sufferer for over 40 years this hits home I felt exactly like you doc Scott had the pills in my hand ready to end it this was in 2000 I took myself to a mental health clinic and was under a psychiatric nurse for 3 years it's the best thing I ever done it's still hard at times but everyday is a good day stay strong bro ❤️ one love keep on fighting

"Coventry's finest". First time I saw Scottie djing would be 1990/1 at Shelley's in Stoke, Amnesia House night on Saturdays. Still listen to him now from the early Future Beats Radio Show to DNBvid streams and the new Future Beats shows streamed on twitch. An absolute legend who has helped soundtrack 30+ years of my life for which I'm truly thankful. Much love and respect for Scottie, thanks man 😊
Love from Canada! Who doesn’t remember the first time The Drums dropped at a party? ✊🏻DS, your music and DJ skills inspire us, now we can add humility and honesty ❤️
Doc Scott is a real one. Some people hold back in these interviews but not this one. Really interesting to hear. This would be a nice segway into a Calibre interview.
I used to head over to Bang-In Tunes most Saturday mornings with my good friend Michael Patterson, who worked in the shop. I'll never forget the day Doc Scott came in with a test pressing of the original mix of Here Come the Drumz. Thanks for a great episode. Always good to see the Midlands / Coventry being represented. The Eclipse really was the centre of the universe in '91. Peace and Love from NZ.
It's mad how alike Doc Scott and Goldie look these days. They both have similar mannerisms and ways of expressing themselves. This man made so many classics - NHS, Drumz, Blue Skies, Tokyo Dawn, Swarm, Unofficial Ghost, Shadow Boxing... He somehow managed to create exciting tunes that were bare bones, simple and carefully crafted; no fluff, everything is there for a reason, just a few elements that nailed the vibe. That's a really hard thing to pull off and imo way more interesting and enjoyable to listen to than the more technical, layered d&b of the post-2000s.
Totally agree, the emotional response triggered from some of those tunes listed.... that's what music and art is supposed to be about, not technical wizrdry. The Pulse is a great tune, sure, but it doesn't get talked about like The Unnofical Ghost or Shadow Boxing.
Got all his vinyls and all them tunes are classics ! But it is hard to explain how shadow boxing hit back in the day when I was in my mid teens and then he did it again a few years later with swarm !!!
WOW. You keep rinsin em epic guests out Mr Ron. Just like you rinsed tunes back in the day ;). Doc behind some epic classics like the unofficial ghost, shadow boxing and machines as my favs. Thanks Ron! All the best.
Man!!! DEEP. Scottie I grew up to you, Randall, rider, ss, Andy C you guys were my life. Everyday I listen to metalheadz sets still. Hearing about you in those ways was sad, we all have a life journey with ups and downs. But know this, you defined a generation, you made and released music that has never been beaten. Big up Scott and Ron. Massive respect to Scott for his openness on mental health. I remember he did an interview during COVID, which was an eye opener and helped
Doc Scott rockin a tee with 10 Foot on it. Three legends inna dis ! Doc Scott’s set, from Amnesia house’s Sky blue connexion is a piece of wickedness ! Thank you for all you do, and you too Ron.

Loved Ron's tracks growing up, proper roots jungle with a bunch of character, big ups Ron! As for Scotty, what can you say, the man sculpted todays DnB from the very hardcore beginning to today. _The_ Legend.
What an incredible journey Doc Scott has had! I respect him for speaking out about his dark times and how he overcame them. Big up for acknowledging the role of distribution with the scene. He's such a humble man and a reflective person. Great discussion and advice given. Looking forward to the 100th release. Bless!
Beautiful conversation. Big thanks for beeing open about very personal stuff, it means a lot for people looking up to you guys. Loads of love from Belgium! JUNGLE IS MASSIVE
Cracking interview, that went deep, but good to hear the whole journey. I agree with Ron, if a D&B track came out with Scotties name, it would get snapped up, no doubt.
Doc Scott is one of the most influential producers of this age of underground electronic music. NHS (Disco Mix) is still my favourite choon and it's what got me into Hardcore in the early 90s. Such an interesting story and journey through time and music! Nothing but love and respect for the Doc! Bless up Ron for this!
Just watched it, great interview. The pandemic sucked for us all but dnbvid-19 every Saturday at 3pm EST, 3-4 hours of new music, was something to look forward to every week. It was beautiful. Long live Future Beats, big up Scott.

Missed his show in Edinburgh, hopefully he's back again soon. I'm glad he brought up the fact that in the early days, the new electronic dance music used to clear the dancefloor. Something the majority of these history of dance music documentaries fail to mention. The reality was most people either didn't know how to dance to it or didn't want to be the only person in the club who was while everyone else stood around watching you 😂. Back in those days you could have ended up in a fight 🚨
I’m from up north and back in 93/94 all my friends liked happy hardcore but I hated it ! But I told them I liked jungle and always got dirty looks and no one wanted to go drum n bass jungle raves so the first couple I had to go on my own but ended up making friends at them just because of how enthusiastic I was for the music !!!!
