    For the long Fourth of July weekend we made plans with our friends Alex & Elise to explore Gifford Pinchot from north to south loosely following the Washington backcountry discovery route (WABDR). Come along with us as we find amazing dispersed camping & explore the beautiful backcountry of southern Washington.

    You mentioned the “epic overland” type videos. The trips you share are what has gotten me into camping.

      Thanks, I don’t mean to be negative toward that kind of video. I like watching that stuff, but sometimes I just wanna see people having a chill time out there 🤷‍♂️

    In 1986 a buddy and I rode our motorcycles from Plumas county in the northern Sierras of CA to Port Angeles WA and back over 15 days. He had a new 1986 Honda XL 600, and I had a 1981 Honda XL 500. We rode for 3,300 miles total. Our ride from Mt. Hood to Mt. Rainer was quite a bit of what today is the WA BDR.

    That looked like an awesome trip and you’ve definitely opened your friend’s eyes to how awesome dispersed camping is. That sucks that Cooper got his paw cut from some asshat litter bugs, good thing you were prepared with a medkit. You definitely did a real overland trip, explore and camp out. This was more of an overland trip than some folks who just want to push content and products out to the masses. If you haven’t been on it you should head to section 2 of the WABDR, specifically Bethel Ridge, the views are incredible. And Skib Bo is awesome, used to play that at grandmas house in Grants Pass during Xmas visits.

      And yes!! Skip Bo is so fun, just played for the first time a few months ago

    loved the video, don't look too much into it, you did a really good job by capturing Sean's at the moment, as someone who overlands with my 2016 4runner trail, it's always the best part is letting things fall where they may. keep up the great work, and be safe out there. Love the build ( setup )😊

    I can’t believe it! You drove right near mine and my wife’s’ absolutely favorite dispersed camping spot around 36:00. It’s an incredible spot at the edge of a small cliff that has an insane view of Mt Hood. But the only real way to get it is to be there at 0600 Thursday morning.

    As I do love to watch the epic overland man guy stuff and things I equally love to watch your content! It’s much more realistic you guys have a great set up that doesn’t cost hundreds or thousands of dollars and you’re out there have a good time with good friends and the pups not just searching for likes! You actually got to dip your toes in the water rather then talking about the water for a second then making a 3 hour meal and doing an add read for max tracks and jackerys! Appreciate the content and I’ll continue to watch as long as you guys out them out! Happy overloading!

    Great one! Quality AND quantity. Keep them coming, at your convenience. Please don't sweat the need to be epic. We like your style and content just fine. Do you. It works.
    I enjoyed the apparent introduction of Zeno's paradox into your rating system.
    Hey, did you train Cooper to be off leash and stick close, or did he come like that?

    • @ScaleofTwo
      @ScaleofTwo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Tyler! And glad you named it, I didn’t know what that concept was called hahaha
      And it took a loooong time for him to be off leash like he is now. Thankfully Shepards don’t really like to wander off as they are, but it definitely still took quite a bit of training. We really didn’t start letting him off leash until he was 2 or 3.

    I would say there is no need to try to be yet another "epic overlander" channel. Just be you put out real content. I actually love finding new RUclips "camping" channels where the videos are not polished up productions with lots of drone shots, and product endorsements.
    Your natural dry humor is actually fun to experience while you go about your camping adventure. Some channels are way too serious, or way too fake to enjoy.
