I'd say this is the best live show of Nirvana ever. Krist and Kurt both have the instrument that would become synonymous to their own names. Dave is as energetic as always. The way this was shot differently than any of the other live shows gives it that feeling that this is from a bio-pic or a documentary.
This and Live And Loud are the two best released shows Nirvana had. They had a lot better than this if bootlegs are considered. Especially late 93/early 94.
I just spent 2 weeks in the jail, and for some reason this song played over and over again in my head for the entire time non stop. I hadn't heard or thought of this song in over 20 years, but for some reason I just stared at the wall in cell 612 in D block hearing this song a million times in a row. I just got home and had to listen to it.
I think it's cos the song sounds like you know you're right, it sounds like a song that would play when Ur life is over and before u show up to hell or some edgy shit like that aha it's pretty good
@iii3931 I violated probation. I use to have a substantial drug problem that I finally got over, but I'm still dealing with the consequences. I was 1 day late seeing my P.O. and she violated me. I think I have the worst P.O. ever lol.
Seeing Nirvana when I was 16 on two hits of high power blotter acid at the TO maple leaf gardens at the 3 row was one of the most epic moments of being 16.
Dallymustdie2002 I do believe there are some components of vocal fry, but because Kurt sang from his stomach, there’s a lot of compression mixed with him lifting his chest voice!
There was no other artist quite like him, so original and I guess sincere. He is so raw and real, not like all the other cheesy, glossy "Im in love" music, kurt sang about personal pain and anguish, his inner rage is so tangible. What the internet was invented for, finding rare Nirvana concerts!!! What I love about Kurt is that he wasn’t a “great” guitar player nor was he ever claiming or trying to be. Just a brilliant songwriter, and the shit he did on the guitar was just unique and different as hell at that point in time. Like the part of his solo where he just runs his fingers all the way up the fret board and then right back down and having it go perfect with the song. Genius!!
Actually i would argue that he in fact was a fantastic guitar player. The things he played on bleach while singing and sounding good, is not easy to do. Also he's style of playing is very forward thinking and original, what i think is one of the most important things when it comes to art and sciences. Also they didn't have a second guitar player, he carried all those songs and riffs by himself, while singing like a fucking pro. That shit is not easy to do. So yeah, i think kurt is very underrated guitar player. And also great songwriter like you said.
