I’m a big fan of the DIY home theater. Lets everyone know that you can use your own creativity, not break the bank and have a nice big screen theater experience at home. Pat yourself on the back. Nice job. I have the single row of seating in my home theater also which gives everyone a good seat to watch the movie. Decorations make the room look comfortable. Good work.
I was confused at first with the windows, but that automatic blackout curtain is essential!! This is one of the coolest home theater setups I’ve seen!!!
It looks excellent. The dark walls make such a massive difference for contrast. I setup a theater in my guest house and painted the ceiling black and the walls dark purple. It made a big difference. Also that is a really creative way to mount your projector. Very nice.
That’s a good looking theater room. I would recommend putting up acoustic panels to help with any reflections or echoes. If you’re a DIYer they’re easy and cheap to make. Otherwise nice job.
Nice! The BenQ projector is great. I have the ht4550, LED light source. I recommend just staying with BenQ and getting a newer model, perhaps when the 5550 comes out in a few years.
Hi there! Great to see something built on a normal persons budget. My theater has been a 20 year evolution. I just wanted to let you know there is a good theater in Salida, it's in my basement! If you are ever over this way you and your family have a standing invitation to stop by for a movie or two. I don't know how to get you my contact info on such a public forum. I don't do Facebook. I will check with my tech savy nephew on how to do it. I love your setup and bet you guys enjoy it!
I think the one thing people want to know when watching home theater videos is the room dimensions. I am not sure if you mentioned that, but I missed it. Another thing is how far are the seats from the screen.
Great point! The room is so irregular, a bit hard to measure. The seating position is about 10 feet from the screen, but with the chairs reclined increases to about 11 1/2 ft. A tad too close, but the awkwardness of the room meant I couldn’t go any further back.
I love to see people use odd shaped small spaces as home theaters and you did an excellent job but I have a question, you’re using your LCR soundstage behind the screen so that means your screen is an acoustically transparent screen correct?? Because I didn’t hear you say that that screen was an Audio pass through screen.
Cool space but Im not a fan of all the figures and stuff. I kinda think all of that should be in an entry way and not in the actual theater room...just my opinion.

What a nice comment! Thank you!

Thank you!
I like your idea for mounting the projector. I think I'm going to steal that for something I'm doing
Steal away!
Good job, great video!! I got a Benq Ht2060 and it looks amazing too.
Nice!

Thanks! I will look into the panels!
Probably the best DIY theater in all of Mineral county.
Hinsdale County, but right next door to Mineral County!
Cool 👍 looks good

I'm excited for an LED light source. Tired of replacing lamps!

Nice setup, what is the size of the wall where the screen is at?
Very nice!
Could you run wire through the ceiling instead of the chase?
The angled ceiling mirrors the roof which is right above the drywall, with insulation and metal roofing, so I don’t think so. Good thought though.

Correct it is! I might have mentioned it in the 2nd video and not the first. Thanks for watching!
im confused why u dont use ur blu rays they will make ur theater sound insanely better then streaming since audio is very comrpessed on streaming
You are right of course. Mostly a matter of convenience and cost, and living in a very remote rural location where Amazon is about the only option
Cool setup what movie was that one
Avengers Endgame - I always use this part when I make a change to give a reference

I hear what you're saying...we are a bit limited in space so not a lot of other options.
Cool video, I am into home theater as well and live in Colorado Springs. Are you a part of the Colorado home theater enthusiast Facebook group?
I am now!
@@GaryWitt-bk9ny sweet, good group with local guys
Good character
Thanks!
You need to dust, heat and dirt kills electronics.
You’re right!
The screen is not a sucker 🙄👎
