WOW. The new face of FZD ! I can't believe this tutorial is free, a whole hour getting detailed tips ans inside of the industry. very valuable stuff. the quality of the slide, narration, flow and content is amazing. It is a big change than the last chapter, and the effort to relive the FZD brand really shows :) . I noticed people don't like changes, but in this case I like the changes.

Feng not sure if you will ever read this but let me tell you one thing. Every time I watch your videos I think I grow a lot as a designer. Me and my friend are aiming to make a creative studio together. We are still only 18 and 19 years old but we dream big. While I want to be a 2D character concept artist, he wants to be a 3D modeler. We think its a great combo. W are putting everything one the line for this. If you ever read this I hope to get a reply from you. You truly are a motivational man. Your idol might be Syd Mead but for me you are. I have gained a lot of knowledge from you. This lesson really helped me today and it was not boring at all. Can't wait for your next video.
    Cheers :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to talk to me, look at my work and most of all, to encourage me up and on towards improving and becoming a future badass. I can't wait to show you my work again some day! Good luck with your school's move and settling in after GDC.

Welcome BACK, glad you had safe travels and you were Extremely missed!!! I wish I would have known you were attending GDC, I would have bust my butt to get there to meet ya!! Hope you will attend the next one. BTW, any idea the next time you are coming to the US Gnomon, SDCC, etc??? This video was a breath of fresh air and very informative, particularly where I am at in my career. You nailed so many subjects exceptionally well, and yet I am now hungry for much more wisdom and expertise. As an Illustrator & Concept Artist, I can emphasize enough for ppl to take heed to EVERYTHING you are saying. I have suggested this channel to EVERY Artist I meet. Keep up the awesome sauce Feng!!! Hyperion Studios huh???? Here I am pondering studio names that fit the bill of what I want (i.e.: professional, simple, provocative and relative) for the longest and you just sling a cool one off the hip with no problem, lol.

Hey, i know everyone already talked about this. But im a really big fan of fzd and this new style feels so stiff with all the voicing edits and special effects. I feel like when fzd was more like casual friday at the office with him coughing sometimes and "taking a sip", just felt really personal and even almost like one on one teaching. Never the less, great stuff!

Nice to have you back. I like that your implementing more animations and buffers, obviously looking at the comments you'll see a overall disapproval but I would encourage to keep with it and experiment with some alterations. It makes it look like a much more official and professional product.

Yay, new Design Cinema. Thank you.
I'm not a big fan of the transition music either. Whatever audio the future holds, wouldn't change Feng's self-made sound effects for anything, "boink". They give so much personality to these and actually help to watch a long video about theory.
Even the "bad audio" ones do that, "welcome to this week's design cinema, grablhhhrrhm, I have a flu". Doesn't take away from the content because Feng talks so fast so there is plenty to really pay attention to. The levels haven't been bad so it doesn't really hurt the audio, just makes one think that this is quite something, the guy is sick and still cares to produce free content.

I really loved the video. Yes the music and transitions are a bit overwhelming but I understand you are trying to add some energy to what is basically a lecture. Great info on finding creative design elements and time management. It could almost be called 'hacking' the real world because you are literally reshaping what already exists. While you don't want to step to far down the been there done that road. You definitely don't need to reinvent the wheel either. So looking forward to more in the future.

Hi Feng, would you have a few of your students do a video? Maybe 1 video of a different student in different terms talking about their struggles, successes, failures, and "Oh, I get it!" moments? I think there would be some amazing information to hear how others interpret your school's teachings. - Thanks

the music actually kinda helps me stay focus, not because the lecture is boring but because its an hour long audio listening.. that can drain your mental energy.. so the music really stops me from drifting away and dreaming about other things..

Minecraft is a great game. Some people think it's overrated but I think it's almost a perfect game. It' simple yet you can do almost limitless things within it, you can mod it and even create games within it's main game. And it's stress relieving while it give you that "achievement" filler to make you progress in the game. It also balances fantasy, animal care, farming and other work type activities, adventure so on, into a nice mix.
I respect the game because even for people who aren't that creative, it can be fun. For those of us who are Lego freaks, it's a perfect game because we don't loose pieces and we don't step on the random Lego of death. xD
    Good vid. I enjoyed it.
*To me, the editing it nice, but it didn't make too much a difference to me because I listen to these while I work. :)

I liked the direction of the logo and sound of the older videos much more than the new one, like curaxu said its too intrusive
For me the important thing is the content of the video and I don't see the necessity of including fancy transitions and loud music

Hey Feng, thanks for another episode, fun and instructive as always. I've watched all episodes in the past and now I'm listening to them while I work because the way you speak inspires and motivates me to get things done.
QUESTION (if you could please answer in a future Q&A episode): In addition to the work itself, what do you think that could be shown to clients in order to improve the presentation and impress them? Do you think the work is enough, or any technical information or show them the refferences used on the project could help you sell the idea?
Thanks again and good luck on the new office! :)

After 5 years, a small correction: the standard Mass Effect weapons (such as the Mantis sniper rifle) don't shoot lasers, they shoot tiny grains in relativistic speeds.
