Chu Chu was a coworker of mine and now a good friend. He is a great guy and it is an honor to know him. He had an extraordinary boxing and acting career. So glad to see this video about a boxing icon that has made history in the sport. His autobiography “The Long Hair Boxer” is a great book too!
I saw Chu Chu fight in the NYCGG. He fought like "Macho" Camacho-similar style. Very fast, good footwork and quick jabs. About ten years later I see him on an episode of "Barney Miller".
Chu Chu Malave was one of the most popular boxers to come out of New York City in the early 1970’s. He had tremendous heart and was a class act.

Really cool stuff. Great catching up
I saw him fight at Sunnyside Gardens which by the way, was one of the best fight arenas ever in NYC.
