Check out a favorite of mine…the late Terry Sumsion. He was a very special Canadian and he got shafted with “When you Leave That Way” which truly was his song. His version is awesome and he died too soon. His discography is small but there are some real gems .
The fact of the matter is, if it wasn’t for Gary Puckett and his magnificent, soaring Voice no one would’ve ever heard of this song he sold millions of records of this song
@@lennon1252 yeah producer Jerry Fuller didn’t want Gary band to play on the record. He wanted top-notch musicians so naturally he hired the wrecking crew.
In 1984 Jim Glaser and Gary Puckett met for the first time on Nashville now. 17 years after Gary first recorded Wiman,Woman for Columbia records August of 1967. Gary sang Woman,Woman then sat next to Jim Glaser and Gary sang several of the Union Gaps hits”Young Girl,Lady Willpower and Over You. Ralph Emery didn’t want to let the moment go by without Gary Puckett and Jim Glaser singing a verse of Woman, Woman together. Gary said “ it’s historic I love it” Jim Glaser said “ Yes Sir”. Anyhow a great moment for both performers!! The Union Gaps producer Jerry Fuller brought the song to Gary who had never heard it. And the rest is history. Gary could play Guitar and Piano, and all the members of The Union Gap could play multiple instruments Kerry Chater and Mutha Withem, Dwight Bement drummer Paul Wheatbread but Columbia instead that The Wrestling Crew play on all the songs from the first two albums. But The Union Gap played270 concerts in 1968 alone,so obviously all the members could play.
I have no idea what you're talking about. This is a classic song that was written when great music was being written and played on the radio by disc jockeys who played what the public wanted to hear not this like this crap were stuck with today. This song could have been been sang by a number of great vocalists in the sixties, Gary just happened to be the lucky one who got it first. And by the way I am a huge Gary Puckett fan and have been been since I first heard him in 1968 when I was 13.
That's not the way they originally wrote it and sang it. They are singing it the way Gary Puckett sang it. And the WRECKING CREW backed him on the recording.
Jim Glaser was a great talent. So underrated.
Sure was underrated
Gracias Jim..porque sin conocerme me cantaste con mucho amor...!!

Gary could sing alright. I saw him in concert in college. PA had a cracked speaker. Ruined it.
Don't forget THE WRECKING CREW!

Even though Jim was up in age that was splendid.

This is a great song but Pucketts vocals are exceptional and add to it
