The first 2 things I look at when thinking about trying a new product are cruelty free and fragrance free. If it doesn’t meet those two criteria I don’t bother to go further. Great video. Thank you.

DHC seems to have changed CEOs but he is still saying horrible things (for those who don’t know, Japan had a very aggressive period & China and Korea see them as Poland sees Germany; the CEO doubled down on Japanese ideas of racial purity) but the company has done nothing to repair relations with Korea and are not seeking to re enter that market. I am happy you are boycotting them. His comments were especially gross because many Korean & Chinese people have some Japanese heritage/DNA acquired thru acts of war (SA), and the government of Japan was never forced to tell the truth like post war Germany had to. Japanese people and culture are awesome, but these situations & individuals are just as bad as American racist CEOs. And with the drums of nationalism beating again, it’s more important than ever to stand firm.
I threw out 2 DHC lip 'balms' when I read about their bigotry. I really liked the product but will never support them again. ✌️❤️
With the same filters Avène has launched different textures which are more esthetically elegant for the face. The last one is called ultra-fluid. I reviewed them on my channel recently.
for me it was the paula's choice azeleic acid. every time i use it, i get the biggest pimples ive ever gotten and when i stop, it goes away, the ordinary 2 salicylic acid is what does the trick for me.
I love the Tony Moly Mochi cream. The fragrance is light, but I just hate it’s there. I really wish they would make a fragrance free version. Thanks Sarah!

Use the Tony Moly toner on your body before u put ur lotion on after the shower . I bought the Thank u farmer rice toner again just for that purpose 😂 I literally finished it on my body because it was older then it was gone and I missed it so I found it for a really good price and now i can use it on my face to if i want to because ita not 2 years old.
Good lord, that Tony moly toner broke me out overnight huge deep red pimples. I was so disappointed bc it’s such a big container! Now I’m afraid to use anything else of theirs bc idk what ingredient it was that did that. It was like the time I tried snail mucin. Took forever to come back from that.
The ordinary lactic acid serum just about peeled my face off. Great for my feet on removing calluses tho!

Really can’t trust dr dray in terms of sunscreen reviews, I bought that sunscreen cuz of her recommendation, she said it’s non greasy not heavy, and she said that about a lot of greasy ass sunscreen.
Sometime you just never know, and everyone's skin is so different. That being said, UI am so, so picky about sunscreens these days. I hate greasy, thick sunscreens, especially for day-to-day use.

I tried the NV Perricone Cold Plasma Plus+ Eye last week and my eyes are still trying to recover from that experience. Puffy, irritated and very flaky skin it went straight in the bin as don't want to pass it onto anyone else in case they have the same reaction.

Eczema Honey Concentrated Cocktail Renewal Cream has 5% retinal, and I love the airless container. I was hoping that this cream would eliminate 2 steps in my routine, tretinoin and moisturizer, plus be less irritating than my tretinoin. I want to love it. It is less irritating, but it caused me to break out. I don't suffer from acne but have KP.
That is definitely a muli-tasking product. My skin tolerates it, but I can do once or twice a week with it. When I was trying to use it nightly my skin did get a bit sensitive and congested.
can you review the Kiehls Ferulic Brew Rejuvenating Facial Essence please? I have dry skin with rosacea and this is the first lactic acid product I tried so far that my skin tolerates. Curious about your opinion of it.
Oh wow- that sounds really nice- especially if you have rosacea to be able to handle it that well seems like it could be a winner! Will check this one out.

My skin can take an Insane amount of abuse and can tolerate a lot…but there was one. Blithe - Indian glacial mud mask and facial cleanser
This has a micro fine clay in it. You know the corner of your eye, it had like a drainage hole. Well this got into that and under my eye lid and infected my eye for 5-7 weeks.
When products don't work for my face; I try to use it on my body. But not always a good idea if you know what I mean. Lol. I hate wasting $$$. In the past, if I genuinely wanted to try a product; I would ask for an sample at Sephora. Yep you sometimes get the side eye for asking but I rather do that then buying the product and dealing with the hassle to return it. 😅
Luckily my “evil” products are very inexpensive. Just discovered that if my under eye area has even a single microdot of impaired barrier, epielle products esp the *undereye* plumping patches will immediately make my eye bags dry, patchy, red & inflamed. Doesn’t happen when I use the wipes on my body but they cannot touch my face. Had to toss the 3 remaining patches. I’ve had pretty good luck with skincare, although I automatically give away any boxycharm stuff that is too harsh & can’t be used in my body. lol my current foot scrub is Goldfaden MD Doctors Exfoliator with ruby (ouch!) crystals - that stuff is like sand paper to the face, but it only cost me $6.50 so that’s a normal price for foot scrub lol. My feet are radiant lol…
I agree with you on DHC. I don’t want to support bad behavior. However, I would like to incorporate astaxanthin into my skincare routine. Any suggestions for another astaxanthin product?
I take it orally and have for about 15 years.

Strivectin is too scented. I tried something that Costco was selling in a two pack and neither me nor my relative could tolerate the scent.
I hate it when people look for cruelty free products but can walk on people having no food and roof to stay on the streets like really? You're kind to animals but not to humans I know humans can do much than animals but I feel that before we should be kind to animals let's make sure we are kind to humans maybe just me. And also when people don't like alcohol in products because it dries their skin but drinks alcoholic beverage.
Very good points- there are so many people in need and we should treat all creatures with compassion- animals, humans, others that are in need- you never know if something might happen to yourself or family.
Why do they still put fragrance in their products? It really pisses me off as well. I hate it when the product is actually good and then you have fragrance in it.

Hi Sarah I don’t buy anything with fragrance at all as I have both rosacea and eczema. I have eczema on the body too, so I need fragrance free there too. Most of the really hyped products don’t work for me and anything with witch hazel is an automatic no. I also struggle a bit with aloe - I can tolerate a little bit aka extract, but pure aloe is a nightmare eg 99% aloe gel. Sometimes it’s just the formulation overall and no identification of ingredient can be made eg Dr Ceuracle kombucha essence really irritates my skin. Some things that don’t work on my face/neck/chest can be used on my body, but if my arm won’t tolerate it then I give it away. Best wishes x
Sarah I am definitely a hoarder of all things beauty/skincare related. Sometimes I'll get sick of my hoard though and will thus go through everything and donate what I'm not using to our local women's shelter...I also usually try to include some unused/new products. They seem to accept even gently used products. Figure it's better than wasting things lol
Last week I just found out about another place that takes donations, it is called Toiletries Amnesty - they work with several shelters, hospice facilities, and battered women's shelters around the US. Nice to find another option for the products I have that didn't work out for me!
Perricone products are the ONLY ones on the market that give me severe allergic reactions. I’ve never figured out what the ingredient is, but it started with using an eye cream that made me a little bit itchy until continued made my eyes swell and then I tried a toner on my face which turned it into a tomato! the swelling and itching were so bad I had to be on prednisone for a week! I’ve never had a reaction like that to any other skincare product I’ve tried, and I still don’t know what it is in their products that make me react so strongly! The only thing I’m really allergic to that I know of is cats and dust mites. I can’t imagine their products have anything like that in them lol
That Perricone Serum was such a let down, and my face almost never gets textured and congested like it did with this serum. This one did have a lot of pore clogging ingredients. I have a feeling for me the worst ingredient was the corn oil, my skin just hates that ingredient.

The Slurp Niacin has witch hazel in the formulation, an ingredient that doesn't agree with my skin either. It's sometimes extracted with alcohol to make things worse. Then again, I couldn't even tolerate the Niacinamide serum from the Ordinary, but 10 % formulations aren't really what super dry skin needs! :)
Witch hazel is also pretty iffy for me, some products with a small amount I can tolerate, but some really end up irritating my skin over time.

Oh thank you so much for your kind comments! I have been on a new exercise and eating regimen over the last couple years. My biggest thing is drinking less soda and walking a lot more. The main thing I've done to my skin is that my esthetician is doing microneedling sessions to help with the hyperpigmentation. She also did a microneedling session with platlet rich plasma which help brighten and firm up the skin. I highly recommend checking out the microneedling/prp treatment- it was game changing and the downtime was not long at all- plus it wasn't terribly pricey, either!
I believe DHC does not have the same guy on board. I believe his views were not popular so he was let go.

Try donating your open products to a women's shelter. Our local shelter accepts clean, unexpired toiletries and skincare items - even if they've been opened.👍🏼☮️💚💙🩵💜
This is exactly what I do. I feel so much better knowing women in need will get a chance to use nice products when they might otherwise not.

I just found out about a place that does take open products - for a while after Covid a lot of places put in really strong rules about donation but it so nice to hear about some places that will take some of my goodies! The one place I heard about was Toiletries Amnesty. I actually found out about it while writing an article about them for the newsletter. They even have some places that are pretty close to me so I can bring them there. Nothing worse than wasting good stuff that could instead go to someone in need! 😁😃
