      More to come-I hope you don't get bored! I will be doing pages on how to avoid buying fake/restored models which has become a big problem due to the rise in prices of originals. G

    I live just an hour north of Everett Marshall's collection in the states and use his place as a reference dept. I was there last week and finally found one that I have and he doesn't which is a hard task to do since he has 50k different models. This collection has some that i'm trolling over. Even though I have a rough #44 yellow / torquise mine isn't mint as the one here. I didn't see a high pin ferry crane. but i believe there is a red super fast and a teal super fast that are super rare. Very nice collection and it really should goto a musuem or at least some of the rarest ones to be displayed for all to see

      Hi, funny enough if I could afford the display space I wouldn't be selling it. The trouble living in the UK is that we are a small country with too many people and not enough houses, so our dwellings are generally small and humble which cannot accommodate collections. I know plenty of guys in the US with acres of land and storage houses which cost less than a flat here in London! Anyhow thanks for the comment and there is a high pin fairy crane in the collection. Cheers Graham.

      @@rockertron yes I did spot it and took a screen shot and sent it via email to him. Vectis gets some very big bidders and usually keeps some of us from affording them. I wish you a great auction. I offered my high pin (play worn) to the musuem on loan till he can acquire one himself. If there was a way to send you pictures of the musuem. It is quite impressive to see even in pictures

    That is brutal. Most of the rare variations are there, in what seems to be pristine condition + we get some insane prepros or colour trials... Red Cougar, yellow Renault 17, red Saab !!! What about this unreal silver VW 1600 ? Is it another colour trial or a sun fade ? I remember seeing a Ford Capri and a Lotus Europa in almost silver livery, both were sunfaded examples.

    • @rockertron
      @rockertron  2 года назад +3

      Cheers, most of the pre pros came from Ex designers such as Peter Smith. The 67 is actually a solid colour, like you when I first saw it I thought it was a fade but the colour is consistent all over including the inside of the doors, sills, roof etc. G

    love the huge matchbox for token sign, never seen that before

    • @rockertron
      @rockertron  3 года назад +1

      Yep, pretty cool. It was a garage forecourt sign in association with Wynn's oils in the early seventies.

    • @rockertron

      Yep, apparently a garage forecourt sign in association with Wynn's Oils. Matchbox made a couple of Promos for Wynn's, the 34 Racing Car and 19 Road Dragster

    Marvellous viewing, Graham! Just curious to know if the Vectis sale will include any of the Superfast track sets (both the SF and T series). Thanks.

      @rockertron  3 года назад +1

      Hi, I didn't really collect the track sets I'm afraid. I do have the double track set [in the carry case] and a couple of late 70's sets. Everything for sale is in the videos and there are full previews on my website www.rockertron.com Cheers Graham.

    I have to say that boxes don't float my boat. Blister packs are even worse.
    I try to buy without boxes but if a box comes with a model, I either pack it away never to be seen again or just throw away. The boxes take up too much space either on display or in the loft and because I will never sell, I figure that value won't be my problem when I die.

    • @rockertron
      @rockertron  2 года назад

      Yeah, I never did blister packs but loved the picture boxes.
